55 Days at Peking is a 1963 American epic film drama in Technirama and Technicolor, produced by Samuel Bronston and directed by Nicholas Ray, Andrew Marton (credited as second unit director), and Guy Green (uncredited). The film was released by Allied Artists and stars Charlton Heston, Ava Gardner, and David Niven. The screenplay was written by Philip Yordan, Bernard Gordon, Ben Barzman and Robert Hamer, while the music score was composed by Dimitri Tiomkin; the theme song "So Little Time" was composed by Tiomkin with lyrics by Paul Francis Webster.
55 Days in Peking is a dramatization of the siege of the foreign legations' compounds in Peking (now known as Beijing) during the Boxer Rebellion, which took place from 1898 to 1900 in China. It is based on the book by Noel Gerson.
In addition to directing, Nicholas Ray plays the minor role as the head of the American diplomatic mission in China. This film is also the first known appearance of future martial arts film star Yuen Siu Tien. Japanese film director Juzo Itami, credited in the film as "Ichizo Itami", appears as Col. Goro Shiba.

In the year 1900 history will talk,
about those heroes that Peking massacred.
55 days united, everyone for his flag, they have found glory in their courage and honor.
The great insurrection against all the foreigners, bring the Boxer into hate, and the war started.
The Russians and the Italians, the English and the Marines, with the Japaneses, they fought over there.
You could hear the beating drums, you could hear the trumpets shout, and the Redcoats started shooting.
Now the drums doesn't beat anymore, but that echo will remain, and the warcry of those Boxers will never shut.
55 days, united trough honor, our sons fought with honor.
Let's remember those heroes.
Let's remember those heroes.

German Version:
In the year of 1900
The sound of the drums have called
the world to Bejing
for 55 days long
The flames blazed into the sky
The death drew demanding his walk
He moved trough Bejing
for 55 days long
The riots of dark forces
That have been born by hate
Moved trough the firelight of the nights
to the big empty city
And it was the roar of the drums
And it was sound of the Horn
To the song of Bejing
for 55 days long...
It have been 11 nations
That hardly and without urge
stood firmly together
for 55 days long
In the wind their flags were waving
without false pride and exuberance
Their pride defied
for 55 days long
And as fate have banned them
into danger and into death
they resisted the enemy
each for his fatherland
and they fought and they defied
against a great superior might
and they fought with victory
and they won this battle
and was the roar of the drums
and it was the sound of the horns
to the song of Bejing
55 days long.
And when you think that WW1 and WW2 enemies were allied in this war

You can see each countries version has their nationalism in it. For example, The British version doesn't mention the Germans because of the tension and they make their flag and the French flag sound the best using the line " The flags of France and Britian, how they flutterd in the breeze " because of their friendship. And the German version uses fatherland a lot and makes it sound like a very big victory. And for the Japanesse one, the art. In the art used, the Japanesse are the first one to to win. ( Idk if all this sounds correct or if it correct at all. My English is very bad )
Loved the movie. Never knew there were words to the music other than 55 days at Peking. I played a short version of this as the English in a table top war game. While I did lose the Legation, I kept the flag and performed the only bayonet charge of the game. Swept all before me. They didn't like the cold steel up 'em that's for sure.
