i hate how youtube covers up the last 15 seconds of a video with those links, this film clip wasn't over before those intrusive ads came in. cool clip otherwise.
Cibo Matto were great! They used to hang out with Beastie Boys back in the day. This song is from an album all about food. Miho Hatori played Noodle in some of the Gorillaz original releases. Sean Lennon (John Lennon's son) was in Cibo Matto for a few years actually.
Great reaction to Cibo Matto. Never knew of anything about this, would never have watched it but that's the beauty of a reaction channel for me - I might just watch something I would have scrolled past otherwise. I do really appreciate it's brief - successfully create something compelling out of the absolutely banal! But I'm afraid I think it's beyond me watching it again several times to try and find out what the hell just happened!
Related to people who don't like music: I was almost dated a dude in high school, I knew he liked me a lot and he was kind of cute so I was open to it, and I remember the day he asked me out, earlier I had asked him what kind of music he liked and his reply was "Whatever's popular." Any attraction I had to him died with those words, so when he asked me out later I was like "Sorry, I just look at you as a friend..." Years later he got divorced from his husband and hit me up again but that's another story...
You should check out another music video by the same director, Michel Gondry which is Kylie Minogue's "Come Into My World." While it's not my kind of music, really, I adore what Gondry created. By the way, he also directed the movie, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" which is a must-watch.
Well... That was... Yeah. I probably would never have sought out this video on my own, so you did bring something new and unexpected to me as your audience. So congrats on that! ...Yeah.
Hi Mandy, thanks for reacting to this, it's a mind-bender. I must have watched it 20 times before I got it. It's just 1 story, but one side is forwards & the other is backwards. The song itself is a bit of a pallindrome, because the same line comes up twice (the black cat) at the same distance from the centre. I'm not sure if you saw my note on the chemical bros reaction, because it had a link in it & someone said they get taken down. I would love it if you watch Michel Gondry videos grouped by his main tropes (like a mini-series on each group): Structural Anomolies: Bjork "Bachelorette" Cibo Matto "Sugar Water" Kylie Minogue "Come Into My World" Rockin' to the beat: Daft Punk "Around The World" White Stripes "The Hardest Button To Button" The Chemical Brothers "Star Guitar" Bonus video: Squarepusher "Come On My Selector" directed by Chris Cunningham Optical illusions & Just plain weird: Massive Attack - "Protection" The White Stripes "Fell In Love With A Girl" Foo Fighters "Everlong" Beck "Deadweight" I hope that doesn't sound too pushy, I'm just enthusiastic about music videos.
I may be barking up the wrong tree (sorry for incidentally calling you a tree... it's a turn of phrase. ANYHOOOO) Have you seen the song Hi Ren by Ren? You may have seen it recommended because it has blown up big time. Still, there's a good reason for it. What's more, Ren's other music is phenomenal, different, profound, moving, fun, and new. I won't get into what Hi Ren is all about because it's obviously best to go in blind. Highly recommended! This was... different too. Can't say I've seen anything quite like it. Trippy sure is one word for it. I could not help but laugh at the moments you did. Goodness me. LOVE IT.
Just when you think the Lass couldn't charm you anymore she starts with that! 👍🏻 If you want the answer though people who have no love for music are soul less! Lol
Surely everyone likes music to some degree? lol! It feels weird to me whenever I tell people "Oh I really like music!" Like...doesn't everyone?? Lol. I have no idea who these people are but that was a cool video!! PS. Sorry I have been MIA!!
I've have actually seen this a couple of times recently on a music show here called RAGE, but it was only as the video started I realised, "hey I know this" I think it's quite new. I had exactly the same reaction as you when she sang about the buildings turning into coconut trees😂. Hadn't noticed that before. So now you need to check out 'Drop' by The Pharcyde (I already mentioned it in the list I sent.) Another 'backwards' video. Also, Rajeshs fiance was Anu.
It would seem you can’t leave links to music on youtube in comment sections. Well, at least I can’t. Just have to hope that a suggestion leads you to the correct video.
The band featured in an episode of Buffy. They played this song at the club.

I knw -- it spoils many a video. You should be able to switch them off (without being a geek)

He and Yuka dated for some time.
I only know this song because of Buffy The Vampire Slayer ❤

Hahahhaa, I am still confused... LOL

Artichoke is the best track off that album imo. Blue Train would be an interesting one to see how diverse and talented they are.
The beat and bass line are a slowed version of the remix of pictures of you by the cure.

A very interesting choice of sounds they were using, it shows a lot of taste and understanding in what sounds go together to create a vibe. Cool af.
You should see them Clog Dance 😁

I have already seen Hi Ren! 🤗
Nor for me.
However, fair play for giving it a try.
I'm going to have to get used to Mandy at 12 since the clocks went forward
Buffy vampire hunter, BRONZE
Very Yello vibe to that music.
Just when you think the Lass couldn't charm you anymore she starts with that! 👍🏻

Lol John. No need to apologise! Hope you are doing well 💜
I believe that it's pronounced 'Chibo.' Also, if you liked the song, the acoustic version from Super Relaxed is really good. Thanks!
I got a flyer for a restaurant called Cibo and it said ci as in cheese and bo as in arrow. It's Italian for food & matto means crazy.
that was cool. never heard of Cibo Matto before - on the subject of weird music videos can I suggest Little Big - SKIBIDI

@@chiefaberach G'day cobba 🐨
Anu!!! That was it! Couldn't remember 🤭
I feel like I'm visiting my crazy niece who's in a rehab care facility for some crazy addiction, but hey that's ok. It's quality time 🙃
You should check out another Michel Gondry chemical brothers video
Star Guitar
It has a hidden layer if you can spot it, it's very cool.
5:40 Took the words right outa my mouth.
🤪🤣
@@MandyCaneLane Still wondering wtf we just saw.
My wife doesn't like music but plays in a brass band 🤷 I love music except most brass music 😂🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Don't trust people who don't like music (they're not from around here🤫👽😉)
😅🤪
Great song! What song?
4:40 There was a murder! 😮

Music is average, twilight is the place to be, twilight music is next level
It sounds like the sneaker pimps of the 90s
No! That's odd even by my standards! Lol
But is it art?
