Good video. Would have been great if you wrote the steps in the description for reference. 1) create a new layer and copy-paste the current image into it: ctrl+a+x+v 2) delete the background layer 3) adjust threshold color: color->threshold (e.g. to 210) 4) pick "select by color" to choose background and delete the background with DEL key 5) save as png file
people rave abt how great opensource it this is the difference there is lot of tutorials for doing this in Photoshop but for gimp there is not even a single one that actually work
This is almost useless. In no way can this be considered a tutorial. You've got to be "expert" just to follow the cursor flying around. Why can't you explain what you are doing?
Very poor job on this -- would much appreciate one which was helpful by describing what you were doing instead of filling void space with terrible music.
really bad and not updated video. The Gimp version are diffirent my friend. Threshold is not by tools for example, is by colors. Write the steps or delete the video.

@CompShop101: Feel free to copy/paste (probably edit) the steps into your video description if it makes sense. Your video helped me. Thanks again.
I would like to correct step 5.
Step 5. Export as png file
Thanks to both of you!

Thank you areala830. I couldn't tell what he was doing in the video.
Why can't these people just talk, and explain how things are done ?.
How are we supposed to keep up with this ?

don't you understand the reason behind this ($$$)? don't blame open-source apps for trying to offer an alternative to big companies monopoly
this one works perfectly

Sorry, will try to improve next time..
did you blur the screen on purpose? it kept going in and out. that's not helping anyone.
No. Maybe it's the auto switching of video quality. It's a glitch in youtube.
Amazing video. thanks a lot. It was very straight forward
THANK YOU!!!!
What is the name of the tool you used ? ( on the left )
Your gimp looks so different from mines
I'm using old version...
Yep, can't see select by color icon.
In new version, click and hold select icon to see pop up menu
if anyone's wondering, in 2.10 this is under "Tools>Selection>By color select" or "Shift + O" keyboard shortcut.
lost me couldn't understand what was happening
I will upload a detailed version soon ☺️
