Absolutely incredible. Two days looking for an easy to understand, easy to follow tutorial on this and here you are making it so simple in less than 7 minutes. The other tutorials want to make this way over complicated. Thank you so much.
Not only did I learn how to crop part of the image out and make the background transparent, I also feel more relaxed and somehow transcendental. Thanks for taking the time to make this video both informative and pleasing.
I love the way you explain things for beginners like me in a clear, slow way. Easy to follow, really. But I also want to thank you for the music. I've seen so many great videos and tutorials ruined by awful electronic music that having something different to hear, and especially such a calm, wavy music, was also a great experience.
Hey there, Maria☺ Wonderfull comment 👌Thank you very much,I appreciate it greatly .I always try to find music that adds a little extra. I am glad you like it. Thanks again and have a great day. 👍
@@gimpworkshop9729 yeah, me too. Great tutorial, great voice, good volume, good timbre, good content, thank you. Do you know if the newer gimp versions will have intelligent foreground select options?
I am a frustrated amateur artist transitioning from Paint.net to GIMP. I am happy I found your easy-to-follow tutorial. My goal is to prepare my art for t-shirt designs. Thank you. Best wishes to You for every success in 2020.
This the best video of GIMP tutorial I ever seen. The instructions are very clear with written notes. The technique is easy to remember as it is the best way to do it comparing to other techniques. No one can miss the instructions. It is better if this video also has instructions of how to insert new background together with main subject reducing.
It take me hours to try inserting new background and reducing the main subject. Moving object is also a problem as the background picture and the subject picture are not the same format. One is 4:3 while the other is 16:9. Picture trimming was required to cut the excess frame part.
Thank you for being so thorough, calm and explain it both via voice and text. The calm way you tutored makes it easy to follow along. Keep doing what you do
This has been a great instructional video! I want to lift my dog' pic from a background and put on a special background. She is decease and it will be such comfort to have a pic of her sweet face. Thank you.
Smudge with a bristle brush! Thank you. I wish I had known that trick before. 15 years using Photoshop and Gimp and there's always something new to learn. 👍
At 4:36 I chose smudge-tool and it had effect only on the human face part --> not the backround part, into where I'd like to use smudge-tool to make hair more natural (there is no effect on the transparent alpha-layer with smudge-tool now). Any ideas how to get hair more natural with smudge-tool ?
You saved my day with such a clear and well presented tutorial : the pace is perfect, and as Maria Catry said, the wavy and calm music seem to help even more. Thank you again !!

Thank you for demo. It took less than 7 minutes to do the job. Other people used much more time that was confusing. They talked too fast and mouse pointer moved quickly. You are the best. You speak, clearly show what tools you selected, and text message on the screen.
Today I have looked at numerous tutorials for background removal and got pretty stressed with either the way it was presented or the music. This one ticks all the right boxes, the voice is so relaxing. Thank you so much for this video. I have liked, subscribed and shared. Great work
I remember that if you select the picture and click escape background gets deleted (the easyway) which tool do I select I don't remember can you tell me which one?
My favorite line in this is that backspace removes free select points. Ive been starting over if I mess up on those by quickly connecting the circle and hitting select none.
Whenever I press 'clear' it turns into a white background instead of the checkerboard, anyone know whats happening? Edit: Not sure what went wrong but I figured it out. After deleting the original background and it was still white, went to the top left and Layers > Transparency > Add Alpha Channel. Then just press delete again and got the checkered background
