Excellent video on mindfulness. I love the analogy of and lessons from Alice In Wonderland. I agree about mindfulness is stopping, looking, listening, and feeling in the moment before acting. Mindfulness check-ins are very very helpful. I find that the WHAT skills of mindfulness of observing, describing, and participating easier to practice. Staying in the moment and noticing how I am thinking and feeling helps. I love the way that you describe the wise mind. Though it all starts with mindfulness, I relate how the other skills are tied together. I remember doing that rhythmic game during the DBT course I took. A statement that I hear all the time is Knowledge Is Power. The suggestions of deep breathing and body checks in the moment help. The 5 minute example of observation and describing, we practiced in DBT. The suggestions on the 3 minute mindfulness exercise of tracking our thoughts is an excellent example. Your videos keep me from emotional relapse. This has been an excellent video on mindfulness. Thank you so much.

I have lost interest in everything, sometimes i don't even eat when i am hungry. I still do two of my hobbies although not as often; comic book collecting and blacksmithing even thought I don't get any enjoyment out of them. I don't have any goals. I did an exercise with my therapist looking over many areas of interest where i was to pick three from the listing. Nothing stood out as important or interesting. Maybe I should be declared totaled, like when you get in an accident and the insurance company decides its cheaper to buy you a new model then to repair the wreck.

What's the very opposite of a monkey mind? Because I shut off a lot of feelings/thoughts in order not to. deal with them

compartmentalization? Dissociation? numbing? It depends on the degree of shutting down

@@DocSnipes dissociation, yes! My former trauma therapist diagnosed me with this. Doc. Snipes, can you cover dissociation? For me, it happens in all cases: when confronted with a dangerous situation, as well as when it's safe.
