Please get enough sleep. Lack of sleep can deteriorate your mental and physical health to the point where your productivity will slow and things will pile up, taking away time from fun things and actually being able to sleep and fix the situation (vicious cycle). Fight hard for your eight hours every (school) night.
On my first job from Univesity I was told that it's the best time to miss sleep, because you won't feel it in your 20s like you would in your 30s If you're losing sleep for your future, it may be worth it while you're young and there aren't hard physical consequences
Pro tip for sleeping better: Go to bed early and wake up between 4am and 7am. Shoot for 8 hours. trust me, it gets a lot easier to fall asleep, plus you have more time in the morning to study before class and get ready.
The relationship with the professor is so real. You don’t have to introduce yourself, but try to be active in class, it helped me a lot. I was really active and voiced my opinions and when I had my oral exam with the professor, she recognized me and even gave me a better grade.

Just graduated from university and everything in this video is incredibly accurate, especially with not making decisions that will haunt you and making sure to join clubs/ organizations. My college experience wouldn’t have been nearly as amazing without all the clubs and organizations I joined, they truly let you meet some amazing people. The only other thing I would add is making sure to take care of your mental health. College can be really overwhelming and you will probably have some level of anxiety, stress, or depression that you haven’t experienced before, so make sure you take care of yourself and learn what works for you. Other than that, great list and a must-watch video for people just starting college. 🤙

That university and college life is about partying is a lie. We were six in our shared dorm (basically a kitchen, a bathroom and six tiny bedrooms). Introduce yourself and get your classmates contacts, especially in STEM majors. Believe me, if asking one person isn’t enough, having other people to get help from and help in return is great for making friends and surviving in class

I'm a 6th year math major. A professor failed me two times on my last class causing me to miss a masters that I had been accepted to. I'm fucking sick of college.
For the tip on AI, I would just say to NEVER use AI even if its a couple of sentences. Most AI trackers will flag the whole essay as AI even if one or two sentences were copy pasted. Also your teacher is probably going to look through the essay and if it not your name or the name of your citations that are being flagged, they will have some suspicion.
I know quite a few guys in engineering. If you want to have a social life, you will definitely notice your grades take a hit. My best advice for this is doing both, and finding a happy medium between making memories and succeeding in school. It may take a bit of time to find this, but if both matter to you, you'll do it
I would also add to that. For difficult mayors, just don’t take multiple classes like 4-5. Be cool and take your time, do 3 or even 2. Rather not burn yourself out and have good grades also. Think of taking 2 classes that way you meet the requirements of a Pell grant while also think of that Semester as a break semester. That will make it better.
@@supergamergrill7734 Actually insanely useful advice. I'm taking 3 subjects because of an ADHD diagnosis and it has been amazing. I'm able to socialise a lot more and focus on extracurricular. Wow, love this vid. Question, I'm at a really intense school, and it's already so time sucking. Any tips for that? There are constant psets and other stuff to do on top of adjusting to college. Also, funny timing about the entrepreneurship, I just went to two different entrepreneurship club meetings today!
Typically, in America, it's 21 y/o - I don't think it's too risky, just be careful and don't do anything stupid and you should be fine. Then again, I don't know your area too well so I'd ask around. I'm based in NYC and 99% of bouncers would either just say no to entry or take the ID for themselves if they knew it wasn't legit. Never cops involved.
How do I decide what to study? Also, would being average at math in high school be a sign I shouldn’t do math related courses? Thanks man love the content
It's really up to you to pick you major (I don't personally know what you like) - You can go into college undecided them select a major later. For being average at math, I'd say don't major in any hugely related math subjects unless you really enjoy it but a few math classes here and there isnt a bad idea
For first year, definitely get a roommate. After that, reconsider what you really want but you do not want to isolate yourself first year. For bringing ppl over, just talk to the roommate and they usually don't have a problem leaving for a bit - it's pretty normal for first years lol
Was wondering, I like certain clubs, activities and sports but I really don’t like the party vibe and alcoholism that college/uni really endorses, especially when I’m easily addicted to anything. Is it fine to cut that out but still not stick out like a sore thumb while in uni??
Bro, in Spain I have classes from 2-7.30 pm, monday to friday, and the only free time goes to study and gym lol, i wish we'd have as much social life and in america
I've been thinking for a while and am not sure if I should use a tablet to take notes in classroom (with a pen) or just use a laptop to type it up. Am gonna be doing aeronautical eng
For me personally notes on the iPad using Noteful premium (just a one time $5 charge) helps so much in uni classes. It’s no question that taking physical notes helps you to remember them better than typing. Also if the professor is taking and moving fast you can just add a textbook on there and type them out and save them later to write out! Hope that helps 😊
I’m going to a college that isn’t known for parties or frat life, I know there are some parties but it’s not one everyday. I still want this though, should I transfer if I can’t find what I’m looking for?
A LOT OF FREE TIME? hsdahdhsahasd I mean after checking the USA (highest unis) schedules I have to agree... I'm in Physics first year and I go 8-18 almost everyday (only classes) barely time to eat + Did I mention that I have to work till 11pm (23:00) to be able to do any "acceptable" work for classes? ye Oh did I also mention that I have to do all of this with 0 free hours time? Ye Europe is built different that's why I'm switching undergrads cause they are actually crazy.
Any specific advice for stem degrees such as engineering? Nobody here parties except for specific occasions, and the academics are so advanced and specific that you can't just look up youtube videos to help
I'm an aerospace engineer, my advice is to get chegg because it has saved me on many homework problems and has just been a big help understanding solutions overall. If a problem youre looking for is not on chegg I would recommend looking through the course notes, textbook, or asking the professor if you are truly stuck on something. If all else fails try chatgpt to steer you in the right direction but take it with a grain of salt because it isn't very reliable. Idk if I can give you much party advice since it really depends on who you know and who you're going out with, I would say just go to bars with friends because they are usually more enjoyable than house parties but really depends on what you like.
@adept2134 thanks, I'm also aero and I figured out the chegg thing last semester. Me and 2 friends share an account. I don't go to parties a whole lot anyways with a few exceptions

Wow, love this vid. Question, I'm at a really intense school, and it's already so time sucking. Any tips for that? There are constant psets and other stuff to do on top of adjusting to college.
Also, funny timing about the entrepreneurship, I just went to two different entrepreneurship club meetings today!
6:23 no just no
Bro legit mad a caffeine demand and supply curve that’s the opportunity cost of studying fr.
Junior girl in highs-cool here !
i cannot approach people😭😭
how to make friends
How old do you need to be for most clubs? How risky is it to use and have Mclovins?
You earned a subscriber!
would you recommend getting a job for money/spare time?
Yeah, it’s definitely up to you on this one - If you want to do things like going out with friends, dating, etc, I recommend a job
how to network effectively with professors, grad students, alumni, etc?
LinkedIn and school-hosted events with alumni invited too
Thanks older brother
Another W!
Always waiting on your comment brotha 🫡
Hey what tool do you use to edit and who did you learn from to edit in this style? its super clean and id love to know big fan of the vids
Premier pro as of recent
The timing is fuxking crazy man. I need this guide thank you so much. One question, is it really essential to get a dorm mate?
it helps for first year but not 100% necassary
Too bad, my 1st year of college didn't even start yet and I can tell the alumni sucks
How much do you have to study for majors like industrial engineering or computer science and management?
A shit ton. STEM majors have it hard.
It doesn't matter what you do. Higher educations is designed to be 24/7 of learning.
Voy a empezar a jugar la versión especial, buen vídeo
1:28 PHILIPPINESSSS MENTIONED 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
YEAHHH
Great video
Give me ideas on how to make time for myself when I have 9-5 classes 3 days a week and 9-3 on the other 2 days
Hey older brother, how to choose a college anyway? (As an international student)
wow never heard of that university.
Jokes aside. nice video
do you think its better to get a room with a roommate or have a single room (since it might be easier to bring ppl over)
For first year, definitely get a roommate.
Oh yeah 100% - You'll get pressured all the time but 99% of people really don't care at all as long as you're a fun person to be around
@@rosylagoon3600 Thank you so much
i've always found the ipad/apple pencil combo is the best way to go if you can afford it
@@OlderBrother_ Alright, thank you!
This is actually what killed and what kills people passion for a subject or school in general. Which is pretty sad
im also from europe and in uni too and 10hrs a day is absolutely wild bruh
In us too its no time only the non stem majors have time
5:27 totally on point with the editing game
Bold of you to assume I'm fcking university
Any specific advice for stem degrees such as engineering? Nobody here parties except for specific occasions, and the academics are so advanced and specific that you can't just look up youtube videos to help
I was in marketing, so I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction
@OlderBrother_ yeah that's a big difference haha, thanks though
I don't go to parties a whole lot anyways with a few exceptions
highschooler here
i can tell from a mile away i’ll be cooked so hard :(
why do giraffes have long necks?
edit: for context im studying to be a zoologist
They eat leaves and those are located pretty high, over time they mate with taller giraffes in order for their child to have the beneficial genes (i made this up)
i am not american, i go to a regular non american institution, how do i get to know people if there are no dorms, clubs or large gatherings?
tallk to people in class!
