Space net at GGBY 2018 had 10:1 safety ratio and 4x redundancy

- Check out how we rigged the spacenet at GGBY 2018. We had 4kn on the line most of the time and the spider silk breaks at 42kn in all my slacksnap tests and we had 4 layers of it. It wasn't perfect but it was super safe enough! Getting 2 lines to hold the tension didn't work out but with the slackline above (the jelly line) holding the corners up, it reduced the force by half.

LMAO that ending. Awesome work!
"Fuck yeah! I'm uhliiiive!"
I'm highly impressed with the setup and redundancy is so amazing I've always wanted to get into rock climbing and slacklining it's just the cost of the equipment also maybe the fact I live in Winnipeg Manitoba one of the flattest places in Canada so it adds to the cost of travelling to a mountain let alone did gear equipment and time management
Im surprised this channel's sub count isnt over couple mils yet. Great stuff man.
As always, thanks for sharing your knowledge, Ryan! The net looked great
Thanks!
Dude are you an engineer ? Your videos are awesome, well done!
great video! Great explaination. Thanks

fuck yeah, im alive, loved it!!!!
Wow so beautiful
Thank you
Can you please try to pull over the 3 types of Cell phone towers I can help next time we decom one
I always worry about our tag line forces
"I'm alive!" Haha, thanks Ryan. Did you rig the rope jump to the outer amsteel?
I set up a rope to it, yes. It was an independent thing but hopefully we have a real and official rope swing.
Thank god I know now
We built a big ass space bet in the trees behind our dropzone. They’re sick af
05:53 fascinating how your skin color basically is the same as the color of the rock^^
At 1:55 it sounds like someone fell off the side of the cliff😂

Came here for this comment
Jenky space net... ;P
Can I use soft shackles in place of rings for my space net?
Yes. 6mm breaks at 15k lbf so yes but you want to put padding on your soft shackle and where it touches because it can move a bit when u rig but once you are done rigging it wont move and is fine. Rope on rope isnt the problem. Ropes moving over rope is the problem. Keep in mind i just cut a 200 meter main line for an experiment with just paracord oscillating back and forth.

BFK = Big Fucking Knot ???!!!! LOL
yea, it's slightly smaller than the BAK. Big ass knot!
Too much safety imo
what I see , as a certified cranerigger is a very messy setup , redundancy is not creating blobs of shackles and knots . altough the setup is solid , it's not a system you can present as the way to do it . I reacted a couple of years before on your methode of fixing and basic rigging , and inbetween that comment and this spiderweb setup I was getting more and more impressed over your quality content , but this puts you back to advanced knotting....
Y'all just throw bolts in everywhere? Not very LNT
It was very intentional where they were placed and this is a designated highline area. There are 1000 climbing bolts to every one of our highline bolts in this world.
@@HowNOT2 fair enough, thanks dude
