    Hey I know its kind of late but I just bought this deck for some casual playing and got all the upgrades from the video. Since this deck is not standard legal and it will be used for casual playing do you recomend changing the Jaspera Sentinels for some Llanowar Elves? I know there are better options but I have these laying arround

      Yeah, totally! In fact, I recently did a pioneer upgrade guide for this deck and this is exactly what I did. :)
      If you want to see the Pioneer guide you can find it here: ruclips.net/video/1LjwVW2q4a8/видео.html

    Hey, would having 2 Xorn be good to speed up Magda?

    Hello man ! I’m pretty new to magic and I wanted to know how to use sideboard ?
    For exemple if I want to had two Outland liberator to the deck, should I just add them and not rep I guess anything, or had them and remove two spells for example ?

    • @AffinityforMTG
      @AffinityforMTG  2 года назад

      Yeah, you usually want to take out cards that are bad against whatever deck you're playing against. Say you get matched up against the Naya Enchantments deck. It doesn't play a lot of removal, so Snakeskin Veil isn't very good in that matchup. You could take out Snakeskin Veil and replace it with Outland Liberator for games 2 and 3.
      Sideboarding can be difficult, for sure. I played casually without sideboards for years when I started playing Magic. Eventually you'll get a feeling for which cards are good/bad against certain decks and be able to make these changes more effectively. :)

    How long do these pioneer decks last in standard before rotation? And what for at can they be p,ayed in after?

    • @AffinityforMTG
      @AffinityforMTG  2 года назад +1

      The Standard challenger decks are good until the Fall, when Standard rotates. Then all the cards from Zendikar Rising, Kaldheim, Strixhaven, and Forgotten Realms will be illegal in Standard.
      The Pioneer challenger decks don't rotate. :)

      @@AffinityforMTG cool, what format do these standard sets rotate into?

    • @AffinityforMTG
      @AffinityforMTG  2 года назад +2

      They're already legal in all other formats. Standard is a format that only uses the most recent sets, so once per year the older sets rotate out and become illegal.
      Formats like Pioneer, Modern, and Legacy don't rotate. So when a new set is released, it's just permanently in those formats.
      Rotation only matters for Standard since it only uses new sets.
      Hope that makes sense! :)

      Great stuff! Would this deck be an ok base for pioneer same strategy? When some of these cards rotate out I guess we can find alternatives too.

    What are your opinions on going more wolf/werewolf package with this deck?

      Annoying to keep flipping but if u don’t mind then go with it lol

      You could try it, but this deck doesn't give you many pieces for a werewolf deck, other than Tovolar in the sideboard, unfortunately. :(

    what would you take out from this deck to make it playable in modern

    • @AffinityforMTG
      @AffinityforMTG  2 года назад

      Jaspera Sentinel, because you can play things like Birds of Paradise or Ignoble Hierarch.
      Twinshot Sniper is just a worse Bonecrusher Giant
      Thundering Rebuke and Light up the Night should just be Lightning Bolt.
      I'm sure there are much better threats to ramp into as well, but that's a start. :)

      @@AffinityforMTG nice thx alot for now the stonecrusher giant and the lightning Bolt are already in there I'll look into birds of paradise

    What is your opinion on these?
    - Invigorating hot spring(great for Halana & Alena)
    - Arlinn the packs hope(same as hot spring)
    - Mirror box(for Magda)

    • @AffinityforMTG
      @AffinityforMTG  2 года назад +2

      Yeah, I can see the first 2 working if you want to focus more on adding counters, I'm not sure if Mirror Box is strong enough in this deck though. I've seen some great Gruul mirror box decks though, so it's definitely possible if you fill the deck with legends. :)

    i know this is late but what the fuck magda really do in this deck? how she get treasures by herself she is the only dwarf on the deck

    • @AffinityforMTG
      @AffinityforMTG  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, it seems weird, but the +1/+0 was irrelevant, she was played for the treasure. She would make oneif you attacked with her, tapped her with a Jaspera Sentinel, or used her to crew an Esika's Chariot in the tier 1 deck.
      She could also sacrifice 5 treasures to find a dragon, so if you found 1 Goldspan Dragon, you could usually produce enough tokens to keep tutoring more dragons and snowball from there.
