Batman trained for years both physically and mentally to become who he is. I take issue with the idea that you can find a Bat suit in the trash can, or in an airplane wreck or whatever, put it on, and then not immediately get shot to death the first moment you try and fight a baddy. Batman is a literal ninja, in peak physical condition, and the world's greatest detective.
He also spent decades of dedication to not only learn fighting styles and build up a near mythical reputation, but also become the best version of himself while learning and trying his damndest to not kill anybody.
I would have made Batwoman the opposite of Batman, who lived almost as a Tabern Monk. She would be heterosexual, and a wild woman. But no graphic sex, just you get the message. She is no nun, and she would enjoy beating the crap out of the bad guys. No murder, just good old fist-a-cuffs. Also her outfit wouldn't be super slutty but not exactly tame either. Her standard off duty vehicle would be very girly, nothing wrong with a heroine being woman and proud. She would also be a young and a fashionista, so we would attract a younger audience. Good stories, that follow well defined story arches, people want to follow. Great cinematography, set design and dialogue with cultural specific catch phrases. People will remember and copy in their daily conversations. Each episode a romping good time.
I watched all 3 sessions of this total train wreck just for the Alice story line alone. Aside from the total tragedy of Beth Kane this is total bat shit.
And they cancelled Blacklightning.......how Flash get 7 season so far? How Arrow? How did Supergirl gets 5? Please dont let me get into that damn Legend of Tomorrow........Blackligjtning had many bad acting but hit a lot of nerves
I think batwoman had a preety good overview of story but bad excution dumb dialogue and constant disturbing acting of batwoman herself is worse than anything...the redeem session of alice is so deep that i forgot it was the same ruthless killer of season 1.
The supposed "redemption" of Alice is not deep. "She was abused and hypnotised and that made her kill people" is just a lazy way to get the audience to feel sorry for her.
I truly think the worst part about this series is that the writers seriously think they are doing a good job. I mean, they have to. They have just doubled down on all of their terrible writing from season one. Words cant explain how they seemingly just can’t see how bad this is.

They keep making up bullshit to give Alice a redemption arc she has not earned (like brainwashing is a good excuse for her mass murdering and was clearly made up after season 1). It's absurd that Constantine got cancelled after only one pretty fun season and Batwoman is one of the worst shows of the decade both critically and commercially and still gets renewned after 2 disastrous seasons.

An amazing show that was made with love and respect Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance was cancelled after one terrific season and this shit gets renewed for a third season... Yeah there's no justice in the world
I didn’t watch this show, but this video left me with one question: “what training does Ryan have?” After some research on her Wikipedia page, I found that, Compared to Bruce and Kate, Ryan has little to no training. Bruce traveled the world for years and sharpened his skills with the greatest teachers in the world. Kate joined a military school and also traveled the world to hone her skills. All Ryan did was serve some time in prison and take some martial arts classes at her local YMCA. That is such an insult to the Batman name. This show should have ended more like Dave’s first attempt at being Kick-ass.
Agreed, there’s one line from her parole officer saying “All those years teaching martial arts” and that’s it. We don’t even know what kind of martial arts. I keep waiting for her to talk about being a foster kid made her want to be able to protect herself so she got lessons starting at a young age, just SOMETHING to make her abilities even a fraction close the others. it still pisses me off on that one scene where ryan's gf guilt trips a doctor rushing off to a person who literally dying into helping her. and then gets mad because the help he gave her wasn't good enough due to them both lying about how she got her bullet wound and how bad it legit was.
There's one scene that legit passed me off. Luke discovered that Ryan had been hiding her kryptonite bullet wound for months and didn't tell anyone about it. He said something like "if that isn't heroic, what is?" NO, IT MAKES HE4 A COLOSSAL MORON!!!

Except that it only works on the show bc Gotham has GCPD as a backup and the real life police don't have any backup. Honestly the bad cop stuff would've been offset so fast if we just had a Commissioner Gordon type character but it seems we didnt get one which is like the VERY BASIS of Batman's whole operation. Like Gordon is the "People can still do good in this city and believe" type of dude who helps Bruce after his parents death, and is their helper, friend and way into the police.
It happened to me with The Flash. Everytime he gets stuck or doesn't know how to fight his rogues instead of just figuring it out he has to consult with Team Flash....what!! Why does he need assistance with captain cold you're telling me he isn't fast enough to out run being shot by a cold gun thankfully the Snyder Cut did some serious Damage control on The Flash, in the Snyder Cut he lives by himself and he learns everything by himself and TURNS BACK TIME as Earth is getting evaporated. The Snyder Cut almost got me back into watching The Flash but I had enough willpower to stop myself fuck the CWs The Flash

But I think it's fair to bash or criticize a show for having a bad season, given that in order for a season to be deemed "bad," most if not all of it's episodes have to be bad. Also a lotta people seemingly don't enjoy the show, given that it received an Average Audience Score of 17% on Rotten Tomatoes, a 3.4/10 on IMDb, and a 2.8/5 on Google Reviews.

There are many great tv shows and movie out there that are rated horribly by critics while a lotta bad movies and tv show rated well. In the end of the day....judging a tv show or movie is a lot more complex than a simple good or bad. Unless of its clearly apparent that the show has weak writing, plot, character etc etc which by no means is indicated in batman at least in season 2. I watched a ton of tv shows in my life to judge whether someone is genuinely good or bad....so I am not just saying stuff.

The reason people don't want her to be Batwoman is because she demonizes everyone who works in law enforcement while also claiming that her drug-peddling girlfriend is redeemable. The show cares more about social agenda than telling a good story. You were correct that Arrow did more of moving the conversation by showing both sides had some legitimate points but left the actual decision for the audience to talk about. Batwoman just wants to preach at you and tell you how to live your life.
@@GIGio_Official The sad thing is that I liked the premise of Batwoman. What happen to Batman and why did he left? Where did all his villains went? I thought they could kinda do a post Watchman world like the movie. For the first thing, Gotham seems like it is ok without Batman. It was almost that Batman clean up Gotham of the real bad criminals and just moved on. The other problem was to make Kate or Ryan look better because of their poor decisions they had to crap on Bruce/Batman. The second issue is with Alice. She was never a consistent villain with only motivation to go for revenge. Most villains can have a revenge story but they are more calculating on building an empire. By trying to make Alice more sympathetic, they nerfed her as a threat. It is like watching Pinky and the Brain where you know that Brain is mostly harmless and the threat is low. The other villains are too stereotypical evil or misunderstood minority that has been oppressed. There is no actually time that Kate or Ryan are really wrong or held to task for their poor views or decision making. In roundabout way, they make the right choices and the show will bend over backwards to show that. The disdain that Kate and Ryan have for the people who don’t support them is more hatred instead of understanding where they come from. I don’t believe this show has had one straight white guy be right or be seen as just average person trying to get by.
Regarding Arrow's gun control episode, one of the producers (probably Marc) said they regretted doing it the way they did and that if they could do it again, they'd make their "side" clearer. It's a fun fact considering how Batwoman does these things, even though I don't think the show has the same producers as Arrow did.
Honestly when I saw that Arrow episode I couldn't stop laughing at how ridiculously surface level the arguments were that both sides made it felt like some cheesy after school special from a few decades ago. I mean good for them for remaining non-partisan, that shocked me as usually they shove some stupid agenda down our throats, but even so the debate was so silly that I would have rather they just not covered it at all as it kind of did a disservice to both sides of the gun debate dumbing it down when there's legitimate fact based reasons to be on either side of the argument. Also yeah Batwoman is trash but to be fair so are all the CW superhero shows now.

Wait hold up... why is one season of Young Justice being listed as a "Bad" TV show? Young Justice is a GREAT tv show. It was cancelled after 2 seasons not because it was bad but because Cartoon Network wanted to give the air time to a new series which everyone ended up boycotting to try and get Young Justice back. A third season was eventually made after years of backlash from fans. If the show was really bad no one would care that it was cancelled and no one would of fought for years to get it back.
The first season was amazing, and the third was bad. The second season had it's moments, but was overall just okay. They tried to cram way too much into the second season. I'd say it was a good show overall. That's my opinion on the show anyway.
S3 tries to push and shove way too many storylines into 1 season, most not going anyway. They added too many characters, while not even fleshing out past characters, that everyone loved, for new characters that no one even cared about. Ya, so S3 was a let down to most.

Alice being hypnotized into being the way she's been was the most disappointing part of the show to me because it has an err of; "Well, women can't be inherently *that* evil because... va-reasons-gina." Every CWDCU female big bad are coded as "not *thaaaat* bad" while the males of the like are more varied. This double standard is weird! MCU and DCEU did this too.
I mean the DCEU hasn’t really had any female villains. It’s kind of small right now. The MCU really only has Agatha Harkness and she was a horrible person. Going by the comics, Nebula was always meant to be redeemed. Every other villain is a man or an alien/god. Their problem is less “female villains aren’t that bad” and more “there’s not enough female villains.” Hell Blsck Panther’s main female cast outside of Shuri and the Queen are villains in his comic book. Now they’re good in the movie.

Things that would ABSOLUTELY be villain material if the genders were reversed. But no, can't have a woman be bad, that would incite unwelcome uproar on a certain social media site... whereas it is totally fine for (white) men to be irredemably evil. The shows bad packing doesn’t exactly allow her to be set up as great as she should have been, but they do at least try to establish that she has some limits. Here’s probably some of the reasons why the second season manages to be worse than the first season: 1. Writing for the second season was probably well underway before the end or even release of the first season, so the writers didn’t know what the audiences did or didn’t like. That or they had to do a bunch of quick rewrites with the actor change 2. There might have been an unbearable crunch time for the script writing, so the writers didn’t have the time to work out all the kinks 3. The first season did poorly enough to a point where everyone basically stopped trying to make a good product, and was just in it for the paycheck
I heard bad things about this series (I live in the UK, so we're behind when America airs the programme). I thought it was just RUclipsrs moaning though, because they love to criticise every programme now. So I gave this show a chance... However, after watching the first episode I just couldnt get into it. So Kate has just 'disappeared' like her cousin Bruce? A random person can just put on the Batsuit and use all its gadgets, and its still one size fits all? Nobody questions Tommy's disguise, except the person with expert secret agent training? And why did she then wait to tell everybody who Tommy might have visited? What is the point of Alice? Theres just a lot of rubbish writing and acting, and you can tell stuff 'just happens' to further a pointless storyline...

Keep in mind, however, that these shows aren't just meant for adults. As cringe as it is to say, it's meant for families with kids to talk about issues, blah, blah, go raise your own kids, amiright? But that said, if they don't "teach values" they lose those viewers. In a perfect world, it would be more balanced like the example in this video about Arrow on gun control.

I will admit that I never watched Batwoman passed Crisis on Infinite Earths but I’ve gotten back into it and it’s not all that bad. I do like the fact that Ryan is Batwoman. It’s like Cassandra Cain and Stephanie Brown being Batgirl. Yes, Barbra Gordon was the OG Batgirl but Steph and Cass are also good as Batgirl. My point is, Ryan may be Batwoman but she’s not ‘replacing’ Kate, she’s taking up the Mantle from Kate. Just like Duck Grayson will one day, and has on multiple occasions, taking up the Mantle of Batman. So it’s ok to pass that torch to someone else. In this universe, Batman is GONE! Nightwing DOESNT EXIST! The only hope the people of Gotham have IS Batwoman! Like Batman, she is a symbol. People need a symbol to rally behind. It doesn’t matter who’s behind the cowl. CW has failed so many times with their shows that it is getting on my nerves and Batwoman isn't just the worst series in CW has made,but ONE OF THE WORST DC SHOWS ADAPTATIONS I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE,why?Because ever since CW announced that they are making a Batwoman show,I knew whatwas going to happen,what I didn't expect was that it was gonna be THIS BAD,the characters were unlikable(you forgot to add how ignorantly stupid Mary is by not seeing she's a criminal with illegal activities like her narcissist mother),the story is unrealistic and pointless,the villains are awfulCW are afraid of making female characters true villains,monsters,and terrible person because females can't be demonically evil but males do because they are the TRUE monsters(BOTH MEN AND WOMEN CAN AND HAVE COMMITTED MANY AWFUL AND TERRIBLE CRIMES IN HISTORY AND RIGHT NOW AND IT'S THE SAME GARBAGE STEVEN UNIVERSE DID WITH THE STORY THAT THEY AREN'T TRULY EVIL,JUST MISUNDERSTOOD,BUT THE DIAMONDS ARE FREAKING TERRORISTS WITH EXECUTING AND INSLAVING THEIR OWN PEOPLE THAT THEY DON'T DESERVE REDEMPTION),and the main character(s)are both racist and sexist that has disgusting point of view,are selfish,only doing and playing vigilante to they own personal gait,have soulless personalities,have the characteristic of a TRUE villain,let good people die and fail their mission on purpose,and most important they are terrible to take the mental of protector of Gotham because if Batman saw what this 2 Batwoman did,he would have throw them away,fired Luke,take and destroy the Bat Suit,and show Gotham the joke Kate and Ryan truly are.
Everything you say is 100% true. This show actually makes me genuinely angry. And I had a full section about Mary and how much of a shit person she is, but ended up scraping it as I thought that Ryan and Alice did a good enough job to show how every character is a horrible person. But yeah the fact that this show has one more season is fucking mind boggling

Batwoman Season 1: Was victimization of Gays. Season 2: Is victimization of Blacks. Season 3: Will be victimization of Trans or Immigrates. (Whichever Woker.)
The CW was good when it was it had Smallville and Everwood, it has a mix of everything for everyone, but only having superheroes shows is not good. When you using the same producers from one show for another you tend to use the same writers and I think they have run out of ideas or since their mergers they have fired all the writers from smallville and Everwood and hired those who used to work at UPN. The Flash starter out great but then after season 3 is seems that they switch writing team. Supergirl went to a similar process when it switched from CBS to CW. Superheroes show need at least a budget of 7-8 million per episode to work dueing important episodes maybe go as high as 10 million. If you are spending 1.5 to 3 million then you will get garbage. I wonder how much the writers of BW are getting paid? I think it would have been better if this entire or most of the season they never figure out who is the new BW until the midway episode and instead she was the one who figure out who was helping Kate.
Yeah I think your right. As much as I love Superhero shows, the CW needs to start cutting some corners so we can get back to how things where years ago.
The CW seems to be moving back in the direction of having less superhero shows now. They passed on Green Arrow and the Canaries, Painkiller and Wonder Girl and seem to be focusing more on remakes, Riverdale and All-American (by giving it a spin-off, among other things). Supergirl is coming to an end and Black Lightning finished last month. There’s only one more DC superhero show in development right now and that seems to be the only one coming up in the foreseeable future.
I still like legends of tomorrow just wished they didn't rotate the team so much. I do miss Ray, Mick, Leonard, Martin Stein, and Jax. I love Matt Ryan as Constantine.

It is gonna suck that Sara’s going to be the only one in the OG cast that will be still on the show next season (well, besides Gideon). The producers did state that the show would have a rotating cast though, and I’m enjoying both Zari’s as well as Behrad, Spooner, Astra and Constantine.

Comic books have literally been "woke" since their inception. That is not "the problem". Its ALL in execution. Prior to the last 5-6 years, marvel and dc were amazing at addressing social problems and cultural issues, but something crept into both companies and no longer are those messages delievered in a good and creative way. Both of them sit on a soap box and want to literally bash our faces over the head with it instead of doing it the right way.

I'm glad you brought up that episode about gun violence from Arrow, Supergirl did one too but it was handled terribly. "Guns are bad no matter who has them"..this is actual dialogue from the episode.
The Black Mask in this show is probably the best live action adaptation of the character we've ever got. Such a shame. Would've preferred this Black Mask in the DCEU than the one we got in Birds of Prey.

That episode 5 example gets even worse when you remember that Ryan doesn't want to help the Crows find a missing person, the exact same person she is looking for. She also ended that episode by telling Luke and Mary that they have to do things her way, even though they're the ones with the gear and all that. At that point, they should have fired Ryan and had Luke become Batwoman. Ryan also comes across bad when you remember that she was well aware that Angelique was a drug dealer while dating her, and didn't do anything about it until Angelique started to crack under the pressure. Luke challenging Ryan on things is nice and all, but I get the impression they only do that so a man can be wrong about things. I have very low expectations about the writer's intentions. The Crows incompetence is hilarious! The fact that they don't bring backup is the most consistent character trait in this show. Ocean managing to escape with a desert rose, or period blood flower, is completely nonsensical. That was what he got captured for attempting to do in the first place. Why would they let him take one? And why did he give it to Angelique?! How does he even know Angelique?! I've been watching Season 2 because it's funny. The complete lack of logic and poorly written characters make it quite funny, but episode 14 was so bad, I couldn't laugh at it. You have to mess up royally to make Drug zombies boring.

Season 2 just proved that these writers have ZERO idea how to write minorities. Season 1 kept constantly shoving down your throat the fact that Kate Kane was a lesbian. Reminding us every other episode like it wasn't already the shows marketing point. Then this season introduces Ryan. And every other episode or scene is her CONSTANTLY playing victim. Everything that happens to her is apparently either the CROWS fault or a prejudice society's fault. And she complains and preaches about how everything is the "white supremacists" fault more than actually being Batwoman. She's not a good character. She's a token black girl that the writers use to preach their own morals and politics in an unsublte and poor outlet.

For me this show doesn't even exist I just watched this video because u made it and it was really great. I have already stopped watching all cw shows but from what i have read the flash has also lost its sense of stakes and thrill like it had in first two seasons, like i have read that in an episode speedforce nora kills strength force alexa rivera and just as they were mourning her death barry and iris ressurect her by channeling their connection to the forces and i have read another thing in this comment section that i didn't know about like the forces being barry and Iris's children like wtf it's as bad writing as wonder woman sleeping with steve in WW84.💩🤬🤬

I don't get why Kryptonite is being used on a show with no Kryptonians on it. I know in other continuities its radiation affects humans like when it gave Lex Luthor cancer but on a show with no Superman, Supergirl, General Zod or the like it's pointless.
My problem with the show stems from the fact that nothing makes any sense. I can't get hooked into a story if absolutely nothing is consistent within the universe.
I guess Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter were anomalies in terms of superhero TV shows. Or maybe it's just that the writers on those shows cared more about telling a good story rather than what the CW chooses to do with a lot of their shows.

Sophie is pretty much the only character who’s gotten better over time... Luke’s a pushover (this poor actor) Mary’s practically a sociopath Ryan’s a sociopath AND a hypocrite Alice is just...unwatchable I at least feel bad for Jacob

Ok just to put my hat in the ring here I believe the main reason for batwoman's downfall (i liked season 1 sue me) and some other shows is mainly the CW. The CW has in most of their shows started showing a little too much of their own politics for better or worse. Batwoman basically gave the message that most police and police like organizations are institutionally racist. I don't think Tavaroff is racist as much as power hungry and a jerk. And Tavaroff shooting Luke is just straight bs no police officer or the like would assume immediately that the black man is guilty and the shady looking white guy that is CLOSER TO THE CAR is innocent. The same thing is happening in the new show Kung Fu (which is a great show when its focusing on the you know kung fu and magical swords and not civil unrest). The Flash, Arrow, and Legends have never had this problem in almost every season so far and have just left politics and beliefs out of the equation which made some great shows.
I agree. I feel like the CW is hiring based on a checklist rather than on how good a writer is and it is effecting all of the CW shows. Some more than others, it's why I hate the Flash, but I despise Batwoman.
They shouldn't be allowed to make any more shows full stop. For a network whose supposed speciality is romance the couples in their shows all suck. There's no chemistry, no buildup to the relationships and the writers confuse lust with love. And on the rare occasion they make a show that isn't centred on romance you can rest assured it'll become an "all romance all the time" show by the 3rd season.
23:22 and some might also call this “cowardice”. I find this episode to be an absolutely awful way of showing the dangers and benefits of guns. It’s extremely on the nose and doesn’t choose a side. If the episode wasn’t so on the nose and a little more nuanced, then they could play the both sides argument. But when it’s handled in such a childish method playing it in a way that says “both sides are right” is absolutely stupid. It’s not as bad as how batwoman handles police brutality and systemic racism but it’s still pretty stupid.
I think it is more to do with the fact that the show is giving you as much information, so the viewer can come to their own decision. I'd much rather a show not take a side then tell me how I should think.
I never watched Arrow or Flash cos one was a WannaBats and the other was meh. I tried LoT, but after they ditched Darvill, what little interest I had in it pretty much evaporated. I mean, if they released a "Just the Sara scenes edit", I'd probably sign up for that. But everything else on it is tosh. I actually enjoyed the first season of Supergirl. After Snyder's SuperBland, seeing a Superperson actually enjoying the whole being a hero thing was a joy. But then the CW took over. And the CW apparently hate Kara. Because I never seen a show that so consistently nerfs and underutilises it's main character like Supergirl does. Barely an episode goes by where she doesn't need to be saved by someone or where she has anything more than the most minimal impact on the narrative. Something that has only increased with the addition of more characters to basically run the show, whilst Kara is usually nothing more than a supporting character at best. As for Batwoman, I skipped season one. Comicbook Kate was one of my favourite characters of all time, so when they cast Ruby Rose, I was out. Even taking into account the usual standard of CW writing, there was no way Ruby Rose was going to be able to convincingly play a character so layered and complex as Kate. And from the occasional clips I saw, I was right. So when Rose left and we were going to get a new Batwoman, I decided to give it a go. Aside from the absence of Rose's "acting", with the new Batwoman being an entirely different person, I figured I'd give it a look, as I had no pre-established investment in the character. And I wanted to like it. I really did. I'm not a TV snob who only enjoys the most high-brow shows. Seriously, I could sit down and happily watch an episode of Team Knight Rider or Sheena (yeah, showing me age a bit there). But this? This is legitimately awful, awful TV. The problem with it is, it feels so.... childish. Like the storylines are something more akin to a Saturday morning cartoon, cos everything is always so neat and handy and convenient. Like the episode where that kid goes missing and it turns out Ryan was kidnapped by the same woman cos what are the actual chances, eh!? And then after another long string of "Well, that was convenient" moments, the whole thing culminates in the kid being recruited into the gang that was holding Jacob. A kid that Ryan subsequently finds in the nick of time by the power of... "looking". It's essentially a show where things don't happen through the natural development of an ongoing storyline, but they happen because they need to. Regardless of how much sense it makes or enormous suspension of disbelief that might be required.
Wow! Now now, " The Worst" is a really strong word. You should say, "The Worst, for now.". It is CW we are talking about, they always find a way to one up themselves.
One thing I find endlessly entertaining about Batwoman is how it's a show about stopping criminals as written by people who seem to despise everything about the legal system. The Crows, GCPD, courts, and prisons (hell, throw in the medical system while you're at it) are all portrayed as evil and the team are very quick to remind you how much they hate them. As a result, Batwoman constantly lets dangerous people go until, seemingly at random, the show realises that a criminal has to go to jail. in which case the show just sort of glosses over the fact they don't believe in the legal system. Another thing is that since the start of season 2, I decided to play a game where I'd guess a character's alignment based only on skin tone. Basically, the darker a character's skin, the more morally in the right they are (according to the show). This may seem like racial profiling but I'd like to assure you that it 100% is and I've never guessed wrong.
Yeah, I don't how of all characters to talk about these legal systems, they choose a member of the a bat family. The same people that always work with police and if not, outside the law.
Kate and Ryan are villains the show's trying to portray as heroes. Kate did nothing but constantly let Alice get away and there's no hope for Ryan " everyone and everything is racist" Wilder.
This show makes Arrow season 4, The Flash seasons 4-7, the bad seasons of Supergirl, Legends of tomorrow Seasons 4 and 5 and Black lightning season 2 look like masterpieces

It's the Hollywood what do you expect? They are too busy checking boxes. Gay couple in the movie/show is a must nowadays. Diverse cast is a must too. Not respecting the source material at all. I don't mind when people don't follow the Source Material. I personally believe that Zack Snyder did an incredible job with the DCEU and people mostly hate his movies because they are different from the greater and funnier MCU and because he does things different from the comics. But what I do hate is when people completely disrespect the source materials. Remember when casting actors who look like the characters they were supposed to play was a thing? I remember them casting RDJ as IronMan or Affleck as Batman. Benedict as Doctor Strange or Cavill as Superman. They are too busy checking boxes now. Superman is now black. I personally liked TFATWS, the plot made no sense, there was a lot of plot holes but I still would give the show a solid 6.5/10.. What I did hate about the show was how they shoved down that "Black Captain America" word down us audience's throat throughout the show. Hollywood is trying too hard. I would not be surprised if they announce an Asian Bruce Wayne. Critics are going to love these movies, let me tell you that. Because they will be too busy checking boxes for diversity, women and queer representation that they will completely forget about what a good plot and good storytelling means. The upcoming James Bond movie looks terrible, I don't understand why they even cast non talented actors? The Cinema started dying the day sequel trilogy of the great Star Wars was released. MCU is dying with their woke crap. DC is already dead with the way they are moving forward. As far as Middle Earth goes, they are ruining it with the amazon's series. Resident Evil live action franchise is fucked already. The casting for the new show is terrible. Casting a Black actor to play an iconic white character. The rest of the cast is filled with 110 pound girls who look like they will get scared by a cockroach, there is no intimacy in them. I'm done with the current gen cinema. Imma go and watch the OG movies instead of these woke garbage we are going to get in the near future. I honestly miss the days when acting skills was the first priority not female representation or diverse characters.

Batman trained for years both physically and mentally to become who he is. I take issue with the idea that you can find a Bat suit in the trash can, or in an airplane wreck or whatever, put it on, and then not immediately get shot to death the first moment you try and fight a baddy. Batman is a literal ninja, in peak physical condition, and the world's greatest detective.
But he is not a woman or ethnic so he is inheritantly inferior because of woke culture. Go woke, go broke.
And he also had to learn every single fighting style in the world lol.
He also spent decades of dedication to not only learn fighting styles and build up a near mythical reputation, but also become the best version of himself while learning and trying his damndest to not kill anybody.

I would have made Batwoman the opposite of Batman, who lived almost as a Tabern Monk. She would be heterosexual, and a wild woman. But no graphic sex, just you get the message. She is no nun, and she would enjoy beating the crap out of the bad guys. No murder, just good old fist-a-cuffs. Also her outfit wouldn't be super slutty but not exactly tame either. Her standard off duty vehicle would be very girly, nothing wrong with a heroine being woman and proud. She would also be a young and a fashionista, so we would attract a younger audience. Good stories, that follow well defined story arches, people want to follow. Great cinematography, set design and dialogue with cultural specific catch phrases. People will remember and copy in their daily conversations. Each episode a romping good time.
I watched all 3 sessions of this total train wreck just for the Alice story line alone. Aside from the total tragedy of Beth Kane this is total bat shit.

I think batwoman had a preety good overview of story but bad excution dumb dialogue and constant disturbing acting of batwoman herself is worse than anything...the redeem session of alice is so deep that i forgot it was the same ruthless killer of season 1.
I think the idea of a new Batwoman could have worked, but my God the writing was just awful. But yeah it was definitely poorly executed.
The supposed "redemption" of Alice is not deep. "She was abused and hypnotised and that made her kill people" is just a lazy way to get the audience to feel sorry for her.
I truly think the worst part about this series is that the writers seriously think they are doing a good job. I mean, they have to. They have just doubled down on all of their terrible writing from season one. Words cant explain how they seemingly just can’t see how bad this is.
What makes it worse is that the show is bleeding viewers and nobody is trying to make a change to fix it.

I didn’t watch this show, but this video left me with one question: “what training does Ryan have?” After some research on her Wikipedia page, I found that, Compared to Bruce and Kate, Ryan has little to no training.
Bruce traveled the world for years and sharpened his skills with the greatest teachers in the world. Kate joined a military school and also traveled the world to hone her skills. All Ryan did was serve some time in prison and take some martial arts classes at her local YMCA. That is such an insult to the Batman name. This show should have ended more like Dave’s first attempt at being Kick-ass.
Agreed, there’s one line from her parole officer saying “All those years teaching martial arts” and that’s it. We don’t even know what kind of martial arts. There are many great tv shows and movie out there that are rated horribly by critics while a lotta bad movies and tv show rated well. In the end of the day....judging a tv show or movie is a lot more complex than a simple good or bad. Unless of its clearly apparent that the show has weak writing, plot, character etc etc which by no means is indicated in batman at least in season 2. I watched a ton of tv shows in my life to judge whether someone is genuinely good or bad....so I am not just saying stuff.

The reason people don't want her to be Batwoman is because she demonizes everyone who works in law enforcement while also claiming that her drug-peddling girlfriend is redeemable. The show cares more about social agenda than telling a good story. You were correct that Arrow did more of moving the conversation by showing both sides had some legitimate points but left the actual decision for the audience to talk about. Batwoman just wants to preach at you and tell you how to live your life.

@@GIGio_Official The sad thing is that I liked the premise of Batwoman. What happen to Batman and why did he left? Where did all his villains went? I thought they could kinda do a post Watchman world like the movie. For the first thing, Gotham seems like it is ok without Batman. It was almost that Batman clean up Gotham of the real bad criminals and just moved on. The other problem was to make Kate or Ryan look better because of their poor decisions they had to crap on Bruce/Batman.
The second issue is with Alice. She was never a consistent villain with only motivation to go for revenge. Most villains can have a revenge story but they are more calculating on building an empire. By trying to make Alice more sympathetic, they nerfed her as a threat. It is like watching Pinky and the Brain where you know that Brain is mostly harmless and the threat is low. The other villains are too stereotypical evil or misunderstood minority that has been oppressed.
There is no actually time that Kate or Ryan are really wrong or held to task for their poor views or decision making. In roundabout way, they make the right choices and the show will bend over backwards to show that. The disdain that Kate and Ryan have for the people who don’t support them is more hatred instead of understanding where they come from. I don’t believe this show has had one straight white guy be right or be seen as just average person trying to get by.

Regarding Arrow's gun control episode, one of the producers (probably Marc) said they regretted doing it the way they did and that if they could do it again, they'd make their "side" clearer. It's a fun fact considering how Batwoman does these things, even though I don't think the show has the same producers as Arrow did.
Most CW shows are terribly made the fact people watch them makes me lose all hope in humanity.

Honestly when I saw that Arrow episode I couldn't stop laughing at how ridiculously surface level the arguments were that both sides made it felt like some cheesy after school special from a few decades ago. I mean good for them for remaining non-partisan, that shocked me as usually they shove some stupid agenda down our throats, but even so the debate was so silly that I would have rather they just not covered it at all as it kind of did a disservice to both sides of the gun debate dumbing it down when there's legitimate fact based reasons to be on either side of the argument. Also yeah Batwoman is trash but to be fair so are all the CW superhero shows now.

Wait hold up... why is one season of Young Justice being listed as a "Bad" TV show? Young Justice is a GREAT tv show. It was cancelled after 2 seasons not because it was bad but because Cartoon Network wanted to give the air time to a new series which everyone ended up boycotting to try and get Young Justice back. A third season was eventually made after years of backlash from fans. If the show was really bad no one would care that it was cancelled and no one would of fought for years to get it back.
The first season was amazing, and the third was bad. The second season had it's moments, but was overall just okay. They tried to cram way too much into the second season. I'd say it was a good show overall. That's my opinion on the show anyway.
They have 3 seasons of young justice
S3 tries to push and shove way too many storylines into 1 season, most not going anyway. They added too many characters, while not even fleshing out past characters, that everyone loved, for new characters that no one even cared about. Ya, so S3 was a let down to most.

Their problem is less “female villains aren’t that bad” and more “there’s not enough female villains.” Hell Blsck Panther’s main female cast outside of Shuri and the Queen are villains in his comic book. Now they’re good in the movie.

Here’s probably some of the reasons why the second season manages to be worse than the first season:
1. Writing for the second season was probably well underway before the end or even release of the first season, so the writers didn’t know what the audiences did or didn’t like. That or they had to do a bunch of quick rewrites with the actor change
2. There might have been an unbearable crunch time for the script writing, so the writers didn’t have the time to work out all the kinks
3. The first season did poorly enough to a point where everyone basically stopped trying to make a good product, and was just in it for the paycheck
I heard bad things about this series (I live in the UK, so we're behind when America airs the programme). I thought it was just RUclipsrs moaning though, because they love to criticise every programme now. So I gave this show a chance...
However, after watching the first episode I just couldnt get into it. So Kate has just 'disappeared' like her cousin Bruce? A random person can just put on the Batsuit and use all its gadgets, and its still one size fits all? Nobody questions Tommy's disguise, except the person with expert secret agent training? And why did she then wait to tell everybody who Tommy might have visited? What is the point of Alice?
Theres just a lot of rubbish writing and acting, and you can tell stuff 'just happens' to further a pointless storyline...

I will admit that I never watched Batwoman passed Crisis on Infinite Earths but I’ve gotten back into it and it’s not all that bad. I do like the fact that Ryan is Batwoman. It’s like Cassandra Cain and Stephanie Brown being Batgirl. Yes, Barbra Gordon was the OG Batgirl but Steph and Cass are also good as Batgirl. My point is, Ryan may be Batwoman but she’s not ‘replacing’ Kate, she’s taking up the Mantle from Kate. Just like Duck Grayson will one day, and has on multiple occasions, taking up the Mantle of Batman. So it’s ok to pass that torch to someone else. In this universe, Batman is GONE! Nightwing DOESNT EXIST! The only hope the people of Gotham have IS Batwoman! Like Batman, she is a symbol. People need a symbol to rally behind. It doesn’t matter who’s behind the cowl. It’s about the Symbol. Whether its Kate or Ryan, Batwoman will always live on!

And I had a full section about Mary and how much of a shit person she is, but ended up scraping it as I thought that Ryan and Alice did a good enough job to show how every character is a horrible person. The CW was good when it was it had Smallville and Everwood, it has a mix of everything for everyone, but only having superheroes shows is not good. When you using the same producers from one show for another you tend to use the same writers and I think they have run out of ideas or since their mergers they have fired all the writers from smallville and Everwood and hired those who used to work at UPN. The Flash starter out great but then after season 3 is seems that they switch writing team. Supergirl went to a similar process when it switched from CBS to CW. Superheroes show need at least a budget of 7-8 million per episode to work dueing important episodes maybe go as high as 10 million. If you are spending 1.5 to 3 million then you will get garbage. I wonder how much the writers of BW are getting paid? I think it would have been better if this entire or most of the season they never figure out who is the new BW until the midway episode and instead she was the one who figure out who was helping Kate.
Yeah I think your right. As much as I love Superhero shows, the CW needs to start cutting some corners so we can get back to how things where years ago.
The CW seems to be moving back in the direction of having less superhero shows now. They passed on Green Arrow and the Canaries, Painkiller and Wonder Girl and seem to be focusing more on remakes, Riverdale and All-American (by giving it a spin-off, among other things). Supergirl is coming to an end and Black Lightning finished last month. There’s only one more DC superhero show in development right now and that seems to be the only one coming up in the foreseeable future.

Comic books have literally been "woke" since their inception. That is not "the problem". Its ALL in execution. Prior to the last 5-6 years, marvel and dc were amazing at addressing social problems and cultural issues, but something crept into both companies and no longer are those messages delievered in a good and creative way. Both of them sit on a soap box and want to literally bash our faces over the head with it instead of doing it the right way.

That episode 5 example gets even worse when you remember that Ryan doesn't want to help the Crows find a missing person, the exact same person she is looking for. She also ended that episode by telling Luke and Mary that they have to do things her way, even though they're the ones with the gear and all that. At that point, they should have fired Ryan and had Luke become Batwoman. Ryan also comes across bad when you remember that she was well aware that Angelique was a drug dealer while dating her, and didn't do anything about it until Angelique started to crack under the pressure.
Luke challenging Ryan on things is nice and all, but I get the impression they only do that so a man can be wrong about things. I have very low expectations about the writer's intentions.

I've been watching Season 2 because it's funny. The complete lack of logic and poorly written characters make it quite funny, but episode 14 was so bad, I couldn't laugh at it. You have to mess up royally to make Drug zombies boring.

Season 2 just proved that these writers have ZERO idea how to write minorities. Season 1 kept constantly shoving down your throat the fact that Kate Kane was a lesbian. Reminding us every other episode like it wasn't already the shows marketing point. Then this season introduces Ryan. And every other episode or scene is her CONSTANTLY playing victim. Everything that happens to her is apparently either the CROWS fault or a prejudice society's fault. And she complains and preaches about how everything is the "white supremacists" fault more than actually being Batwoman. She's not a good character. She's a token black girl that the writers use to preach their own morals and politics in an unsublte and poor outlet.
Didn't Kate also manipulate her ex who was bisexual into getting back with her by making her think she was just a lesbian in denial?

Ok just to put my hat in the ring here I believe the main reason for batwoman's downfall (i liked season 1 sue me) and some other shows is mainly the CW. The CW has in most of their shows started showing a little too much of their own politics for better or worse. Batwoman basically gave the message that most police and police like organizations are institutionally racist. I don't think Tavaroff is racist as much as power hungry and a jerk. And Tavaroff shooting Luke is just straight bs no police officer or the like would assume immediately that the black man is guilty and the shady looking white guy that is CLOSER TO THE CAR is innocent. The same thing is happening in the new show Kung Fu (which is a great show when its focusing on the you know kung fu and magical swords and not civil unrest). The Flash, Arrow, and Legends have never had this problem in almost every season so far and have just left politics and beliefs out of the equation which made some great shows.
I agree. I feel like the CW is hiring based on a checklist rather than on how good a writer is and it is effecting all of the CW shows. Some more than others, it's why I hate the Flash, but I despise Batwoman.

They shouldn't be allowed to make any more shows full stop. For a network whose supposed speciality is romance the couples in their shows all suck. There's no chemistry, no buildup to the relationships and the writers confuse lust with love. And on the rare occasion they make a show that isn't centred on romance you can rest assured it'll become an "all romance all the time" show by the 3rd season.
I liked season 1 a lot more than 2. I feel like season 2 has no direction whereas season 1 looked like it was actually building up to something.
23:22 and some might also call this “cowardice”. I find this episode to be an absolutely awful way of showing the dangers and benefits of guns. It’s extremely on the nose and doesn’t choose a side. If the episode wasn’t so on the nose and a little more nuanced, then they could play the both sides argument. But when it’s handled in such a childish method playing it in a way that says “both sides are right” is absolutely stupid. It’s not as bad as how batwoman handles police brutality and systemic racism but it’s still pretty stupid.
I think it is more to do with the fact that the show is giving you as much information, so the viewer can come to their own decision. I'd much rather a show not take a side then tell me how I should think.

I never watched Arrow or Flash cos one was a WannaBats and the other was meh. I tried LoT, but after they ditched Darvill, what little interest I had in it pretty much evaporated. I mean, if they released a "Just the Sara scenes edit", I'd probably sign up for that. But everything else on it is tosh.
I actually enjoyed the first season of Supergirl. After Snyder's SuperBland, seeing a Superperson actually enjoying the whole being a hero thing was a joy. But then the CW took over. And the CW apparently hate Kara. Because I never seen a show that so consistently nerfs and underutilises it's main character like Supergirl does. Barely an episode goes by where she doesn't need to be saved by someone or where she has anything more than the most minimal impact on the narrative. Something that has only increased with the addition of more characters to basically run the show, whilst Kara is usually nothing more than a supporting character at best.
As for Batwoman, I skipped season one. Comicbook Kate was one of my favourite characters of all time, so when they cast Ruby Rose, I was out. Even taking into account the usual standard of CW writing, there was no way Ruby Rose was going to be able to convincingly play a character so layered and complex as Kate. And from the occasional clips I saw, I was right.
So when Rose left and we were going to get a new Batwoman, I decided to give it a go. Aside from the absence of Rose's "acting", with the new Batwoman being an entirely different person, I figured I'd give it a look, as I had no pre-established investment in the character. And I wanted to like it. I really did. I'm not a TV snob who only enjoys the most high-brow shows. Seriously, I could sit down and happily watch an episode of Team Knight Rider or Sheena (yeah, showing me age a bit there). But this? This is legitimately awful, awful TV.
The problem with it is, it feels so.... childish. Like the storylines are something more akin to a Saturday morning cartoon, cos everything is always so neat and handy and convenient. Like the episode where that kid goes missing and it turns out Ryan was kidnapped by the same woman cos what are the actual chances, eh!? And then after another long string of "Well, that was convenient" moments, the whole thing culminates in the kid being recruited into the gang that was holding Jacob. A kid that Ryan subsequently finds in the nick of time by the power of... "looking".
It's essentially a show where things don't happen through the natural development of an ongoing storyline, but they happen because they need to. Regardless of how much sense it makes or enormous suspension of disbelief that might be required.
Wow! Now now, " The Worst" is a really strong word.

One thing I find endlessly entertaining about Batwoman is how it's a show about stopping criminals as written by people who seem to despise everything about the legal system. The Crows, GCPD, courts, and prisons (hell, throw in the medical system while you're at it) are all portrayed as evil and the team are very quick to remind you how much they hate them. As a result, Batwoman constantly lets dangerous people go until, seemingly at random, the show realises that a criminal has to go to jail. in which case the show just sort of glosses over the fact they don't believe in the legal system.
Another thing is that since the start of season 2, I decided to play a game where I'd guess a character's alignment based only on skin tone. Basically, the darker a character's skin, the more morally in the right they are (according to the show). This may seem like racial profiling but I'd like to assure you that it 100% is and I've never guessed wrong.

Yeah, I don't how of all characters to talk about these legal systems, they choose a member of the a bat family. The same people that always work with police and if not, outside the law.
Kate and Ryan are villains the show's trying to portray as heroes. Kate did nothing but constantly let Alice get away and there's no hope for Ryan " everyone and everything is racist" Wilder.
Honestly there is no hope to redeem either of them because the writers think nothing is wrong.

This show makes Arrow season 4, The Flash seasons 4-7, the bad seasons of Supergirl, Legends of tomorrow Seasons 4 and 5 and Black lightning season 2 look like masterpieces

Black Lightning season 2 was great in my opinion.
It's the Hollywood what do you expect? They are too busy checking boxes. Gay couple in the movie/show is a must nowadays. Diverse cast is a must too. Not respecting the source material at all. I don't mind when people don't follow the Source Material. I personally believe that Zack Snyder did an incredible job with the DCEU and people mostly hate his movies because they are different from the greater and funnier MCU and because he does things different from the comics. But what I do hate is when people completely disrespect the source materials. Remember when casting actors who look like the characters they were supposed to play was a thing? I remember them casting RDJ as IronMan or Affleck as Batman. Benedict as Doctor Strange or Cavill as Superman. They are too busy checking boxes now. Superman is now black. I personally liked TFATWS, the plot made no sense, there was a lot of plot holes but I still would give the show a solid 6.5/10.. What I did hate about the show was how they shoved down that "Black Captain America" word down us audience's throat throughout the show. Hollywood is trying too hard. I would not be surprised if they announce an Asian Bruce Wayne. Critics are going to love these movies, let me tell you that. Because they will be too busy checking boxes for diversity, women and queer representation that they will completely forget about what a good plot and good storytelling means. The upcoming James Bond movie looks terrible, I don't understand why they even cast non talented actors? The Cinema started dying the day sequel trilogy of the great Star Wars was released. MCU is dying with their woke crap. DC is already dead with the way they are moving forward. As far as Middle Earth goes, they are ruining it with the amazon's series. Resident Evil live action franchise is fucked already. The casting for the new show is terrible. Casting a Black actor to play an iconic white character. The rest of the cast is filled with 110 pound girls who look like they will get scared by a cockroach, there is no intimacy in them. I'm done with the current gen cinema. Imma go and watch the OG movies instead of these woke garbage we are going to get in the near future. I honestly miss the days when acting skills was the first priority not female representation or diverse characters.
Lmaoo Falcon becomes Captain America in the comics buddy. They are following source material for that. As far as the other things, I don’t agree with people not following source material either but certain things are following the source material... just because you don’t like black captain America shows your prejudice because Marvel made Falcon Captain America in the comics so that’s what they are doing now... I don’t see the issues with that.
