I saw a bunch of fans of riverdale justify its bad writing with a theory that it's story was created by the main character himself as a bad self insert/fantasy, and that's why it's cringy. Basically saying "yeah the writing is shitty because it's supposed to be written in the style of someone who's bad at writing" These writers for riverdale have their fans coming up with conspiracy theories just to cover for their 7th grade level dialogue and plot twists, they truly have struck gold

I have to respect the CW for giving me the most savage rejection I've ever seen in a piece of media. There is a scene in Arrow where Felicity is in a wheelchair because of a bad injury. Oliver proposes to her while she's in the chair and she stands up and leaves. Literally struggles through her wheelchair-level injury just to reject Oliver. This is peak television.
Ahahahahaha I remember that. Iirc, she got angry because he didn’t tell her about his child. It’s such a petty reason to fight. S3 end fight with Damian Dahrk was pretty bad too. They literally took turns punching each other (not even any special fight moves, just regular turn based punches) and Damian lost
@@mrdeftino4682 can’t remember what happened in S4, but I agree. Season 1 and 2 were really good, although I expected more from Deathstroke fight. (Biased towards Arkham Origins fight). @@mrdeftino4682 the flash was also pretty fun for 2 season. And I have a soft spot for season 1 of Legends of Tomorrow because of Captain Cold. Everything else is pretty crap…
I love how Batman has a bunch of adopted kids in the comics, they could have gone with ANY of them (Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, DAMIAN WAYNE WHO IS HIS ACTUAL SON) but no they come up with the a new, most basic ass character ever. Good job CW
not to mention his daughters, cass, and even helena, although she’s from another earth. theres duke, tim, like so many charcters in the main earth that are his kids and even more from alternate earths that could have been used, but instead we got this bitchy white boy. the only positive thing about turner is the fact they wont be ruining an already pre-existing character
I actually prefer making a new character, as we don’t have to associate the inevitable piece of shit show they produce with any of those good characters
Imagine being a high schooler, your dad just died, then you meet some girl who you have a class with and she not only tells you that she knew your dad, but also that he called her “his little Robin”…. Like WTF 😂
I mean, that has happened before, but often through people finding out who Batman was and then ambushing him while he was out public as Bruce Wayne. Then you also have the fact that canonically, one of the main reasons Batman doesnt die to guns is because people assume the weakest spot on his armor is his strongest spot, when in reality, that part has very little to no protection from bullets. If you're gonna kill Batman, you have to do it by either having him unprepared, someone having deduced his identity, or someone having deduced his weaknesses. Preferably all of the above. It's like killing Superman with a kryptonite bullet. Yeah, it could work, but it would be better if you gifted him a plant that has very tiny kryptonite dust particles in its spores first so that he wouldnt notice he was getting weaker untill he doesnt even notice the bullet had kryptonite in it. The manner of death isnt disrespectful, its the road traveled to said death that is.
To be fair, the "daughter of the Joker" is Duela Dent, who is an actual comic book character who pretends to be the Joker's daughter; that's not just some BS that CW pulled out of their ass
According to the wikipedia article that is actually the theme of the show's premise. Although Joker's Daughter isn't literally the Joker's daughter, that's just her villain name, so she doesn't actually fit that theme. Although this show is already making blatant changes to the Canon so that's probably not gonna be the case here.
Power rangers cgi was hilariously terrible, youre just saying that because you hate the cgi now but it wasnt in any way better my friend, not talkin shit just saying fam
Literally, like Bruce has high and I mean HIGH expectations for his comic accurate sons (like Damian and Dick), like do they think he'd just not bother with a biological son???
Batman has gone toe to toe with The Joker, who tests his morals and pushes him to the limit Riddler, who trys to make Batman seem stupid, and fails (maybe he wrote this) Bane, who breaks his body Poison Ivy, who trys to seduce him, and fails Penguin, who is pretty much a good ol' gangster. Who do the GCPD think killed him... some teens who wouldn't look out of place at an emo con.
fuck that, Batman as literally fought an Avatar of Darkseid and WON, the man got a plan for every single super hero in the JL, including himself, has beat up the entire JL in a hush while they were infected with the Joker gas. Comes the police and says he dies to some fucking TEENAGERS, HIGH SCHOOL TEENAGERS, NOT EVEN SOMEONE TRAINED LIKE A ROGUE ROBIN.
Imagine the pain and sadness these infamous villains are going through- Honestly that would’ve been a funny concept. Villains who wanted to destroy Batman take on revenge on who killed him especially Joker bc there’s a ongoing joke that they fight like a “old married” couple for shits and giggles
"Why do they keep doing it?" My theory: - Smallville was a huge hit back when it was WB - Superhero content is already super rehashed and overdone, why not ride the train?
They had batgirl which was borderline impossible to watch for how bad it was😂. Like I stopped watching cw after Arrow season 3 and I saw batgirl clips on Twitter and they was killing the show😂😂😂
Thank god they aren’t writing any of the marvel shows if they had the license to that they would be doing constant crossovers with each dc characters and marvel characters and making up new ones that haven’t been introduced in the comics but only the show like super girls step sister 🤦🏾
This makes me appreciate Gotham series a lot more, despite the problems itself had, still a decent series and after seeing this it's definitely leagues above this shit.
Gotham was very entertaining and a really nice spin and just seeing Gotham in depth and how crazy it really is in Gotham. (It also had good acting and decent cinematography)
Its kind of a shame. I thought the first 4 seasons of supergirl were pretty good tbh. but season five was just mediocre and season 6 is so repulsively bad I can't even continue watching.
@@jao999 I mean I totally respect and understand why you think that.that's why I said that I personally thought they were good. season 6 was a dumpster fire but the final episode was actually a pretty nice send off for the show. its definitely not a great show but its a good time killer for the first 4 seasons.
You know what's insane, a show about the rest of the bat family having to step up to Bruce's legacy after he's dead would actually be a good show, having night wing struggle to fill his boots, having red hood go on a rampage, having red robin and Batgirl try to find who killed him, seeing robin try to keep to his father's teachings even though he's not there, seeing Catwoman slip back into thievery but that's not this
That's honestly what I want the next Arkham game to be. Just each character dealing with it, their own way. Some of the villains could rise in the empty void that Joker and Scarecrow left. Maybe they change their ways. It's something I liked about post-Arkham City, was that there was this void left by Joker.
The battle for the cowl actually exist in comic book lore. Batman was believes to be dead. So the former Robin's couldn't decide who would be batman. It's one of the better arcs in terms of Robin stories.
That’s the bizarre thing: the CW was exposed not too long ago for being entirely unprofitable SINCE ITS LAUNCH. Reports state that the channel hasn’t turned a substantial profit since conception even when they had Supernatural airing.
and i forgot to also add this but they also get profit from there subchannels (ever since 2009 when the Digital TV Transition TV stations have been allowed to air more than 1 channel, instead of just channel 5 you have channel 5.1, 5.2, and ect.
Honestly, the early Arrow and Flash episodes really weren't bad. They definitely weren't anything amazing, but they were enjoyable and had some good moments.
Arrow was good until after Oliver’s fight against Ra’s and The Flash was good until Season 4. The potential they could have had with Godspeed and just totally fucking that character raw and bloody ruined any chance of watching it again. Supergirl was watchable until season 2 when they started making it rom-comesque and it became unwatchable.
It turns out the the CW has literally not been making money since it started. The only thing keeping it afloat was Supernatural and not long after it finished it came out that they are going bankrupt. I have a feeling the only thing that will keep Gotham Knights alive is Misha Collins.
I don't watch television at all anymore, or news about new shows. Misha Collins is gonna be in this trash show? I kinda feel bad for him. What's his character?
Yeah they think they are very smart They think they are brainwashing kids into rebelling against millenials (and not against boomers) Basically a bunch of old ass boomers on life support who have absolutely ruined society for TWO GENERATIONS TO COME and are doing everything they can with their money and resources to divert attention from their own fuckups. @@CT-5555-7 this may be a hot take but I never really liked Cass. He was fine at first but just got super annoying in later seasons. Also he was killed like 6 or 7 time and they would always bring him back for no good reason.
the worst part is that they aren't even using any of the robins or batgirl; you know the, characters that actually make up the Gotham knights? if you can't get the actual characters don't make the show!
In the cast list I saw one of them is supposed to be Stephanie Brown, who was both a robin and a batgirl, but something tells me the that they're gonna pay ZERO respect to the character and she'll end up as bland as every other person they've written. I actually really like some of the characters they've chosen to showcase here. I just don't trust them to not turn them all into edgy sex-crazed morons.
I think they really want to get the next Riverdale. Buy a franchise, use only the characters names and maybe a little bit of their physical appearance, and then do literally nothing else with the source material. To the point that buying the licensing rights was a complete waste of money and could have been an original series all on its own.
Riverdale worked because it was based on a comic that's not widely known by this generation. These superhero shows are never going to work unless they follow the source material relatively closely. DC comics and their heroes, especially Batman, are still insanely popular, and fans don't like when you mess with that stuff too much. There are certain liberties you can take, but the CW takes hot dumps all over these characters.
The only CW superhero show I can get myself invested in is late-stage Legends of Tomorrow because like, you can tell they don't take it that seriously, so it just feels like 2012 avengers "they all live in the tower and play mario kart" style fanfiction. Theirs an episode where they have to go bowling to save the world. It's just so silly that it's hard to be mad at it.
Yeah at the time they were really really great. In retrospective they’re just decent. Those shows came out at a time when superhero shows weren’t really a big thing. Then Daredevil came out and changed everything
Godspeed is such a bad villain holy shit In the comics he is another speedster who can steal the speedforce from others so he hides hes intentions until he can be powerfull enough to fight the flash In the series he is so "WAHAHAHA THE FUTURE IS NOW MINE" Like holy shit how can they take one of the best modern villains in DC and make him be such a generic bad guy?
People will now say that Gotham Knights is absolutely one of the shows of all time, but now we can also say that CW is one of the networks released in television.
It should be noted that Superman & Lois is genuinely great. It's remained my top superhero show since it started, and I watch most of them, both DC and Marvel - though I've dropped several CW shows. Tyler Hoechlin is fantastic as Superman and I've seen so many people say he's become their fave, some comparing him to Christopher Reeve. It has an odd moment here or there and the CG doesn't always hold up to the impressive standard set early on, but it never dips enough to really drag it down. The balance between Clark's superhero life and home life and the genuine, realistic family dynamic is the core of the show.
Also, while it was very blatantly set up to be in the same universe as the other CW "Arrowverse" shows (Diggle from Arrow appears in season 1) they pulled a 180 on that and made it clear in the season 2 finale that it's separate from the other shows. In other words, this is a different Earth with a different Superman. It's upset some fans but I'd say it's for the better in the end. Gives them a fresh start.
@@mayonnaise3959 Daredevil is certainly cream of the crop, I was talking about current shows within the past couple of years though. Very excited about Daredevil coming back, hopefully Disney doesn't screw it up.
@@JustanotherNPC8454 I'm well aware of that, but it still originated from the CW shows and Tyler's Superman first appeared there, so I wanted to point out that it's not exactly like the typical CW superhero show.
I think the saddest part is that the CW keeps good actors out of movies and shows with more potential like Misha Collins. I wish he left the studio when Supernatural ended
Batman is dead, and the GCPD immediately suspects minors to kill the Dark Knight Detective himself. Batman has been long around to the point that he's dead now, but Harvey Dent still isn't Two-Face after all this. --- Like CW isn't even trying anymore.
Unless it's been actually confirmed to be Two-face then it could be Harvey Bullock instead, who would already be too old anyways at that point to show up that young, same applies to Dent
The type of shows that CW dishes out makes the storywriting, dialogue and special effects in Morbius look like it’s a once in a generation cinematic masterpiece.
Arrow, for all of its flaws, was probably peak CW DC stuff. They didn’t need that much CGI, the writing was good most of the time, the only people with powers that needed effects were the multiple Canaries and Damian, so they didn’t have a huge need for CGI that could look bad. Flash was fine at the start but slowly declined. Supergirl’s effects were too glaringly bad at the start, but as powers increased and varied it just looked crappy. Legends of Tomorrow has bad CGI, but honestly it kinda adds to the campy feel of the show.
Honestly Legends could have turned out better if they didn't go the alien route, but I guess the writers need to add more things to be a threat to the timeline for the Legends to fix
Conspiracy Theory: Marvel's been funneling in money to CW getting them to greenlight the worst possible DC series and hire writers fresh outta wattpad to destroy DC from within with these low effort fanfic style series
Very ironic and definitely negligence and carelessness that the writers had the kids admit that they broke in and stole batman's shit and got him murdered and then they become the crew with batman's son... Just wild. Thanks for sharing.
I read the cast list and they literally just took a bunch of characters from scattered comic book arcs and timelines and put them into one show as a team. Like, the girl that said she was robin is Carrie Kelley who isn't supposed to be robin till Batman's in like his 50s or 60s.
@@sinistralhydra yes and no dark knight was in a way the "official" future for a bit so no but that was like 3 universe reboots ago so yes and she is like op said not robin close to anyone else

It was so bad that the Gotham Knights game developers had to go out of their way to make a statement and let people know the game has no relation with the show.
As a person studying Film and TV, the people behind the scenes know what they make has flaws. They obviously do not have the budget for decent writers or CGI. I wonder if the writers just have a great contract that prevents them from getting replaced or fired for 10 years.
i just watched through izombie recently and you can tell the budget + only 13 episodes screwed them over. the show has a lot of really good plot lines and concepts that mostly go nowhere and feel rushed and its so sad. all the budget goes to stuff like supernatural the flash and arrow because thats there money maker and everything else cw makes has to suffer which really sucks when they have some really good ideas for shows on paper
@@bradlo and even then supernatural still suffered from lack of budget in the latter half of the show. an early season 5 episode “the end” cost almost as much as season 15 in it’s entirety
I felt the same about Riverdale, like why bother? Nobody who actually knows and likes the actual Archie Comics is going to want to see the characters and plotlines butchered, and nobody who DOESNT know them is going to care that their names are slapped on. So if you’re not appealing to an existing fan base and you’re not appealing to a new fan base, then who is this for?
13 year olds who will watch anything out of bordem (this doesnt actually happen cw is just out of touch and still think tv is the only mainstream media)
Conceptually, this could be a really cool idea for a show. A detective mystery whodunit centered around the death of Batman. It could be low budget and focus on the mystery aspect rather than throwing in a bunch of action scenes. I could see it working if well written. Too bad cw only knows how to make shit.
"He called me his little robin" The ONE scenario where this would be remotely ok was if this was his daughter. But its not. Batman has a son. The main character. And she says some point in the trailer that she lives with her mom. So she isnt and adoptive child of bruce at all like some of the other robins. So now it just looks like Batman groomed this highschool girl. No wonder he died. He was the shittiest PoS Batman ever. And Batman was already a PoS to his robins. So CW just continues making Batman shitty. Like why?
She's suppose to be Carrie Kelley's Robin. Looks like she may have taken up the Catgirl moniker from DKR2. Which is interesting because Miller basically trolled the world by making Batman a groomer and having them fall in love. It does look weird that they would sort of touch on that side of that relationship in this even though it was a troll by Miller to write them that way... Also, another redhead bites the dust to woke casting. The genocide continues.
I love how in all the CW shows, whomever replaces Batman is just as good at fighting as Batman was despite having no martial arts training whatsoever. In Batwoman, the latest Batwoman (already a joke in itself, that one woman replaced the previous woman that replaced Batman lol) was a drug-dealer that stumbled across the suit, then started fighting crime the next day lol. In this, at least Robin shows up and was PROBABLY trained by Batman how to fight, and hopefully Robin will train the GOTHAM KNIGHTS (lol) how to fight, but I wouldn’t count on it. They’ll likely just throw on the suits and start stopping bank robberies. I mean, there’s no better way to honor your late mentor than by getting his son and a couple random kids killed by trying to stop criminals lmao.
The funny thing about that Batwoman thing is that i don't even think it was the next day it was like the same night AND on top of that she knew how to use the Bat gadgets effectively. The show was that incoherent and badly done in everyway that they never communicated that it was 24 hours between getting the suit to crime fighting or even her testing the gadgets
@@What.99 Yeah the scenes before that has the characters in dark rooms so you don't know if 24 hours had past between them and next time you see Nu-batwoman it's still night it's insane the entire episode (hell even the whole show) is like that. Idk about just as good. But they’re definitely trained as if they were by The League Of Shadow. At least Arrow just stole all of Batman’s villains and training

@@Matt-pm2sx I haven't seen too many cw shows but that's the general idea I get from it Flash had its glaring issues but was decent for the first 2 I think another reason for the early seasons being better is the smaller cast

I lost it when they brought in the killers. Like you said, they can't even accidentally make something watchable They basically gave Batman the fucking Uncle Ben treatment man
CW made Craze Ex-Girlfriend, which is probably my favorite show ever made, but it was also written, directed and stared by an extremely talented comedian so idk if we can even trully call it a CW show
I'm glad someone else pointed out how creepy it was for Batman to call Carrie Kelley his little Robin. The way the actress says that makes it sound oddly sexual and kinda creepy. Like I know in some series, Batman hooks up with Batgirl but I found that to be creepy too
and even in stories that Bats and Batgirl hook up... She's an adult, without a shadow of doubt. This girl looks like she came straight out of hot topic with her mom's credit card
My guess is that she's probably taken up the moniker of Catgirl by this stage because she's not in the Robin costume. And if they know who that character is then they've probably taken elements from TDKSA or "DK2." Ya know, that grapghic novel Miller created to troll the world so that they would stop asking him to do a sequel to TDKR? Ya know, that non canonical sequel he created to make Batman look like a creep groomer and have Carrie Kelley and Batman fall in love with each other? Yeah, the CW are that out of touch and have no idea what source material they're using so they just throw everything in this sh*t stew not realising that the dialogue they've taken was deliberately creepy.
This is so bad that from what I can grasp.. you can easily change “Batman” with a generic “Spy agent” killed and the plot would be the same (without ruining Batman’s reputation)
Honestly tho, I think it would be a more interesting plot. I love Batman, I really do, but he really has no place in the show. I think a dead spy's adopted child trying to find his father's killer while also learning more about the parent he thought he knew is a better sounding show and doesn't tick off DC fans by changing already established characters
There’s nothing more crushing than hearing your favorite Superhero franchise is getting a TV series and seeing it’s produced by The CW All you’re seeing is Forced romance Cheesy one liners Overstretched plots Brooding protagonist(s)

Seasons 1-5 of Supernatural were gold. Interesting story that knew where it was going, zero teen drama because the leads are both adults and the chemistry between Jenson Ackles and Jared Padalecki made for great blend between serious TV and comedy.
Seasons 1-5 were the most complete vision. Kripke should have insisted on finishing there. I have never seen past season 12 but even though I have seen after season 5, in my head, that’s when it ended. Poor Cass, to be subjected to this level of writing.
I have been saying that since forever it should have ended after the whole lucifer thing exactly at season five every season after that just feels extremely different

Legends of Tomorrow, the one CW show that was still good because it was actually self aware and didn’t take it self seriously, got canceled in favor of making more garbage like this.
As much as i liked LoT the ratings plummeted to below 450K so I can see why Zaslav axed it. Though the cliffhanger ending is so infuriating. You don't introduce Booster Gold and stop the show!
I understand why people like Legends of Tomorrow, but it just didn’t click for me. Self awareness can only get you so far if you’re still suffering from the thing you’re mocking, IMO.
Can you believe there was a time when people actually liked CW content? And more than that, there was a time when CW actually made some really good shit. It's crazy to think about. You can't tell me Smallville wasn't great, and Supernatural was one of the best shows on TV back in the early 2000's.
Smallville knew what it was. It was a teen drama first with superman tacked on. These new shows can't decide what they are. They try and take themselves so seriously that neither direction makes sense. It's a bad superhero show, it's a worse teen drama. But then again are they teen dramas. The characters are significantly older but still written like they are for teens?
Supernatural was great apart from season 7, that’s the season where the main antagonist was called Dick I’m pretty sure. The leviathan season, which ever one that was.
My theory as to why this show is still coming out after they cancelled the other shows is because it was probably too close to being finished, but they're going to immediately cancel it after the first few episodes or after the season ends. And to be fair, Superman and Lois is actually good
Batman, the man who's gone toe to toe with the likes of Bane, Killer Croc, Joker and even Superman and survived. A genius and master inventor. Skilled in several forms of martial arts. Has tons of gadgets, a bulletproof suit, master detective and a master of stealth. Killed by three teenagers. Yeah, that seems believable.

Batman could die to a gun if he was outside his armour. His plot armour that is.. since the plot demands it batman is dead
@Savetion 🅥 weirdo

I feel like iv never understood a character less than with Cass, just because his character seems to change drastically out of nowhere with every 10 episodes
It was so bad that the Gotham Knights game developers had to go out of their way to make a statement and let people know the game has no relation with the show.
Wow, you are right, there was a news article a week ago.

im still hyped for the game. sad to know that this may taint its reputation.

Speaking of CW shows that got real bad.
As a person studying Film and TV, the people behind the scenes know what they make has flaws. They obviously do not have the budget for decent writers or CGI. I wonder if the writers just have a great contract that prevents them from getting replaced or fired for 10 years.
sadly it's more likely that they're lowly paid, have no other options and are promised a good future.
i just watched through izombie recently and you can tell the budget + only 13 episodes screwed them over. the show has a lot of really good plot lines and concepts that mostly go nowhere and feel rushed and its so sad. all the budget goes to stuff like supernatural the flash and arrow because thats there money maker and everything else cw makes has to suffer which really sucks when they have some really good ideas for shows on paper
@Kavetion you’re not god
@Soft Tofu thanks for replying to my comment 💕
@@bradlo and even then supernatural still suffered from lack of budget in the latter half of the show. an early season 5 episode “the end” cost almost as much as season 15 in it’s entirety
I felt the same about Riverdale, like why bother? Nobody who actually knows and likes the actual Archie Comics is going to want to see the characters and plotlines butchered, and nobody who DOESNT know them is going to care that their names are slapped on. So if you’re not appealing to an existing fan base and you’re not appealing to a new fan base, then who is this for?

Like why?
Truly a 💀 moment
Him calling her my little Robin = Him grooming her. What ?

@@phantomgoblin5540 Oh really? I never actually watched the show, but I’ve seen plenty of stuff making fun of it lol.

Idk about just as good. But they’re definitely trained as if they were by The League Of Shadow. At least Arrow just stole all of Batman’s villains and training

"I'm hungry an I'm pretty short, so let's go for some low hanging fruits"
That was such a great intro.
The only CW show I’ve ever cared about was Arrow. Anything else never worked or gone off the rails very early on.
I used to really like the Flash, but it just... didnt
This is so bad that from what I can grasp.. you can easily change “Batman” with a generic “Spy agent” killed and the plot would be the same (without ruining Batman’s reputation)
but that wouldn't have a massively recognizable brand that will make them money!

Now Jensen and Eric Kripke wants Jared to cameo in "The Boys"

@@usernametaken3098 What? I thought it was a gay rom-com.
Smallville was always kinda silly
My theory as to why this show is still coming out after they cancelled the other shows is because it was probably too close to being finished, but they're going to immediately cancel it after the first few episodes or after the season ends. And to be fair, Superman and Lois is actually good
