Just found this band yesterday, easily now one of my top 5 favorites. The lyrical content speaks to me deeply with the bad things that have happened in my life recently.
They've got such a unique sound. I listened to them for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and I was like, "Hey, that's neat. Pretty good." and then later that day, Evil popped back into my head and I had to listen again. At that moment, I was completely hooked and had to keep listening to more. I'd never heard of them before All the Rage Back Home popped up in my recommended, but now they are definitely one of my very favorites as well.
My friend gave me this album the week it came out. How has it taken me like 13 years to watch a music video for it? Early to mid oughts Interpol was one of my favorites. This song inspires many memories and feelings from back then.
You know that feeling when someone dumps you but you feel like you were meant to be together? I feel like that all the time. Its the worst kind of nostalgia.
How bout the feeling of falling in love with someone and having that girl die in hospital. Leaving you behind on earth slowly falling lower and lower while shes at peace. Yeah ive been through that i miss her.
100% agree! Interpol has to be inducted in the hall of fame. Two weeks ago, i went to Detroit seen them perform at the royal oak theater, then the next day went to Columbus, OH seen them at expressLIVE! absolutely the best experience! I love these guys. They fucking rocked!!!
I remember listening to this song endlessly on my CD player on my way to summer school, on the school bus wondering why my first bf left me for some other girl lol wow teenage love...I'm now 33 😄 love interpol!
I’m gonna be 33 in a month and I used to play this song every day sophomore year on my CD player being all emo about my crush. I think my family got sick of me playing it on my guitar lol.
I think it's interesting how despite the very pop sensibility of interpols lyrics they are so beloved by huge music nerds. I really believe that there is so much magnetism in this band and the music driving the songs is so magnetic itself and sensual that it makes interpol's music irresistible and it makes you surrender and suspend all judgments and headiness it puts you right into your body.
I think the initial expression "you are in love with someone else" is perhaps much deeper than I always thought. It could in fact refer not to a real person, but to the different and imaginary one that she no longer sees in him. I say this because otherwise we would have to admit a contradiction in the other expression of the song where he says that they "can make time to find someone else who has a line". If he were convinced that she is already in love with someone else who already exists, there would be no need for her to find one who has a line. Even in this hypothesis, however, the fact remains that she is no longer in love with him as he is, while he complains that "it should be me", just as I am. This would be a much more poignant and melancholic interpretation than the current one, and would also be more in keeping with Paul's great depth of thought.
Jorge Ruiz me enjaja :v
Mejor, yo no lo hubiera descrito.
.
@Daniel Del Valle estupid people
Saw these guys live in Vegas about 10 years ago. Been to so many concerts since. Still the best ever. The energy was ridiculous, but im biased.
Saw them last night here in Vegas, this song rocked
Excellent musicians. I've shown to my friends the Glastonbury ...Wow!
My friends are musicians and this is what they've said... Wow. Skillfull and great songs.
The voice. They thought Interpol were Germans, because Of the register, a bass voice like in German or Russian Opera.
Interpol is now a trend in my place.
Thank you
Dear paul, when things have come to that point, "somebody else" probably is already in her heart.
It's way too late
To be this locked inside ourselves
The trouble is
That you're in love with someone else
It should be me
Oh, it should be me
Sacred parts
Your getaways
You come along
On summer days
Tenderly
Tastefully
And so may
We make time
Try and find somebody else
This place is mine
Set the date
You know exactly how I feel
I had my doubts, little girl
I'm in love with something real
It could be me
That's changing
And so may
We make time
To try and find somebody else
Who has aligned
Now seasoned with health
Two lovers walk a lakeside mile
Try pleasing with stealth, rodeo
See what stands long, ending fast
Oh, how I love you
Oh, in the evenings
When we are sleeping
We are sleeping
Oh, we are sleeping
And so may
We make time
We try and find somebody else
Who has aligned
Now seasoned with health
Two lovers walk a lakeside mile
Try pleasing with stealth, rodeo
See what stands long, oh, ending fast
Paul inspired the brief rounded-square-Jewish-grandma-glasses fashion trend that took over Williamsburg during the winter of 2004-05.
Matthew Prosser Cazals
No Jarvis cocker in the mid 1990's was the influence here.
That is very oddly specific but i see your point
Seriously the BEST track to come from the USA for 30 years or more.
This band is amazing. PLease, come to Salvador or Recife, in Brazil!
I agree too
Time for the obligatory "this song reminds me of my brother" post.
Hummam Ali you are remembered. Miss you, little king.
Something I asked Paul Banks: "hey, is that a tear in the corner of your eye in this video?"
And, hey, it could be.
Me hubiera gustado estar ahí espero algún día

Damm barely well listen to the whole antics album its so fucking great and lovely put headphones on
I remember the old days when the only way I could watch this video was on VH1s Top 10 Music Videos before RUclips came along . It stayed up there for weeks! I miss those days so much.
Such a sentimental album. Great stuff guys.
Such great banda, I've seen them 5 times and still want more.
Always a great song to cruise to with the windows down!
I cant wait to see them next year JUST LIKE HEAVEN FEST🔥🔥🔥🔥
Paul looks amazing these guys are so attractive thank God they're musicians instead of modeling!!
One of my favorites by Interpol. Along with public pervert and take me on a cruise...
amazing music & band. Love them forever. Hope their music eternally plays when I die ✨
2021 and still loving this incredible band.
Should be me!
Non dimentico, "The trouble is, that you're in love with someone else, It should be me" 💔
From 2,15 the heartbeat of the man as he looks at his beloved while she sleeps: he thinks with emotion about what will be his life without her.
oh my god i cant believe you finally did this
what you mean..? this is a re-upload .. all their stuff has now been deleted and re-uploaded in the last 6 months.
(used to watch this for the video years back)
one of the greatest songs ever for me and I'm 60 this year
Carlos' walking bass lines
are the real stars in this song.
I've been waiting for a while for a new band and I found out about these guys just recently oh God thank you, I get to go on the rock and roll Merry-Go-Round one more time John 61...
No doubt one of the best Interpol rolls
