i have a team of 3 Pokémon with around 10cp for buddy heart trainer battles, and my third Pokémon is always coming in with less than half hp. there's definitely a bug rn that is causing a switched Pokémon to take damage from the previous battle

if you want see an german speaking video, I highly recomend one of the latest videos from Spieletrend. he shows a chart from worst to best mega pokemon, so it would be a good guess for you to get some of the higher tiers for lucky trades. especialy shiny variants are always on my list for Luckytrades. then Riolu/Lucario, Mewtwo, Machop, Metagross and Mamoswines are always a good investment. hope I could help a bit 👍

Would you ever change Mewtwo's move from Shadowball to Ice Beam? or even Psystrike to Ice Beam? I know it's a waste of an elite TM, but that could help with Giratina-O and Yveltal

It's not a waste of elite TM. You don't need Elite TM to change to Ice beam. You do need elite tm to change to psystrike or shadow ball. Anyways... I wouldn't do it. If you have lucky friends just ask for mewtwo. Than you can give it 2nd move and change it to ice beam.
General tip: Don't change anything that's generally quite difficult to obtain. Definetely if it has these exclusive moves. And definetely shadow ball is quite rare (before elite TM's)
I've done already changes and things that I regretted later.
