I think the best approach to make Lucario useful is for Niantic to make Bullet Punch same stats as Counter and give it Meteor Mash. But rework Meteor Mash to less damage and give it the chance to buff attack like the MSG. The Bullet Punch rework won’t mess the meta up and MMash rework won’t overpower Metagross too much
These battles really make me wish that we got Mega Master League back it looks so fun...it would have to be restricted with the legendary megas banned tho^^
This thing is a PvE dream. It’s now not only the top Fighting raid attacker, it out-damages the top Fire *and* Ground attackers when their type effectiveness is identical.
It isn’t niantic, mega lucario is always extremely attack weighted and because attack affects the CP value more that means that it’s cp comes from only attack because it’s defence and hp are so low
As for my lucario. Im keeping mine a try and true fighting type all the way. Im just glad mega lucario came out. it has its purpose and place out of all the other pokemon its only a matter of how you use him.

You can battle a friend or alt for that; doesn't have to be GBL.
force palm would be such an amazing move on some other fighting types but not a lot of mons can learn it sadly.
Mienshao is a great candidate for it in the future, hoping it comes!

idk if you had a better Lucario but you chouldve used an Elite TM to get Force Palm if the event started in your time zone
Imo Counter is still > Force Palm. 2 turn always better but pacing wise its still slightly faster by 1 turn

there was a bug where people could bring 3 megas into it, so it was discontinued and Niantic still haven't fixed it
