  • CQC or Close Quarter Combat battles in Wargame Red Dragon are the battles where it's just pure infantry vs infantry. Now, which of these performs best?
    In this video I'm testing a selection of BLUEFOR infantry vs REDFOR infantry to give you an idea of which units are best to kill other infantry.
    TL;DR:
    Redfor - use Spetznaz or Li Jians
    Bluefor - Use Delta Force/SEALS/Fallschirmjager or Commando Marines
    =====
    Addition by Flieger:
    SMGs: +100% acc bonus in CQC
    AR: no change
    BR: -50% acc malus
    Some weapons have non-standard stats, but they generally fall in these lines anyway; the G11, STG 943, and AKS-74U are treated as ARs; the Type 64 and 85 as SMG. Perhaps I missed some exceptions. Anyway, the CQC bonus is important when you come to the Redfor. At first glance, the AKS-74U which the GRU have now and the regular Spetznas had in the past may look better than the AS-VAL which replaced it, but the latter is a SMG with its CQC bonus.

    Great video.
    "Close Quarters Combat (CQC) refers to offensive and defensive techniques for fighting unarmed or with non-projectile weapons. These engagements are typically in limited or confined spaces, often with two or more contained within a space normally occupied by one. This term often is used in place of CQB as the term "combat" infers military style tactics to close in with fire and maneuver.
    Close Quarters Battle (CQB) refers to the use of maneuver elements, often in limited or combined spaces, to attack, occupy and/or defend structures in and around built up areas, although application is used in different environments. Scenario based CQB training provides for consistency of instruction and management."

    Oh! And the reason infantry was 'hiding' was because napalm weapons create smoke, so it has the same effect as firing smoke rounds from Arty.

    What about Li Jian in close quarters/CQC within a single sector?

  • @Ghost-ct3to
    @Ghost-ct3to 7 лет назад +6

    Also, what about SMGs having a higher fire rate than ARs? I've noticed that they make enemies panic quicker due to a higher fire rate.

    also, shouldn't chasseurs have an advantage over equally vetted infantry in cqc, as they use SMG's?

    Why do you say not to use infantry to fight Li Jians? Sure, head to head sticking it out without maneuver is a bad idea but get your own infantry up in their grill contesting their sector and they'll either burn themselves or not be able to use their napalm anymore against you in the first place.

    Very useful video.
    The reason the vysads went to the back of their sector might be because of the napalm as well rather than just the presence of an enemy chopper. Don't know if this is a standard thing or infantry only do it sometimes, but I have seen it happen a few times to me.

    I like this guide...but it would also be good to make a guide on how lesser infantry can beat higher rated infantry. I wonder if I can present you with video that proves my point. Perhpas I will get into the vid biz...

      Tonight I beat both...with Dragoner and Livgarde...micro-ed as individual squads...you cannot group your infantry...against them...come at them from 3 different directions...one of your units will get smashed...the other two will kill the elite squad...

    Is it worth using only suppressed primary weapons on some Spec Ops teams, or are their suppressors not that helpful..?

    • @Stealth17Gaming
      @Stealth17Gaming  7 лет назад +1

      Not really worth it. Only worth using on silenced sniper rifles, because then you can snipe infantry from concealment.

    • @renedekart5069
      @renedekart5069 Год назад

      They are helpful only in situations when you can kill smthing with this supressed gun, that has poor or bad optics and won`t be able to see infanty in buildings at close range. Smth like cargo cars moving near apc. Supressed smgs will kill cars and apc wouldn`t be able to detect them by visuals. Infantry has always good optics and can see other infantry further than range of smgs.

    So what advice do u have for armored deck with a lack of the high end units for mopping up towns the problem I have been running into is bombers are usually not a good option because of manpad and the aa and also trying to get napalm tanks close enough is usually suicide I have been using vdv with my redfor armored deck is there a better option or have i been over looking maybe a recon unit or maybe a combination of infantry that you have found useful I know armored decks should stay out of town but as you know sometimes we have no choice and that's where I'm having trouble finding the right units to use in those towns when I have to provide help to a teammate

    • @Stealth17Gaming
      @Stealth17Gaming  10 лет назад +2

      Bloody hell mate, some interpunction would be nice next time. I generally try to avoid towns if I'm using armored decks (Swedish armor is an exception). If the map has a lot of town/urban areas just pick another deck.
      If you absolutely have to go into a town with armor try to use smoke to get closer, use mortars to kill ATGMs and try to surround the town using tanks/vehicles.

      Most of these higher end units you needs to micro heavily at least 3 to one individually...meaning you cannot group your infantry. If the other player bring em in Platoons...ie 2-4 in groups...use air craft with bombs or napalm. But as a rule...these high end units can only fire at one unit at a time...with napalm or other so three units of reg inf firing from 3 directions will cripple an individual high end unit. Back them up with fire support units like 20-30mm carriers...or machine gun vehicles.

    • @R.Specktre
      @R.Specktre 9 лет назад

      revanni nedzer getting good at micro helps this...

    • @scoobidoowaaa
      @scoobidoowaaa 9 лет назад

      spc gaming keep your armored vehicles little back enough for giving fire support with their auto canons (note that napalm is weak against armored vehicles), use mortar shells to lower the moral of entrenched high end units, try to trap them in a sector where you will surround them and attack them from multiple directions at the same time. Don't wait that your units panic, move them back and resupply them and replace with fresh troops. Wait that they calm down and move them back up to front. Once you have destroyed high end units don't forget to split them and move them from where they were, because most players will retaliate with artillery fire and/or Bombers. Good Luck

    would you say that engineers perform better with rifles turned off (so they close to napalm range)?

    • @Stealth17Gaming
      @Stealth17Gaming  8 лет назад

      +Jason Northrup With their rifles disabled they'll definitely close in more reliably. An alternative is not using attack move but to tell them to move right next to the enemy infantry unit.

    • @AJasonNorthrup
      @AJasonNorthrup 8 лет назад

      That would require finesse; as a stationary only weapon, they still won't fire napalm until they've stopped moving.
