I have just watched this video and the one about how you became husband and wife. My wife, Becky and I had been married for almost 42 years when she went to be with the Lord on Dec 17 2023. It has been sometimes rough and sometimes not but Mrs. Rhoda when you said THE BEST IS YET TO COME I couldn't help but think how so right you are because these are just the beginnings of our lives together. Thank you so much Rhoda. Becky was 62 and I'm 70 so we will see you both on the other side.

I know what you mean, my brother in Christ. My beloved husband, after 44 years was called home on December 7, 2023. It is still hard at times. I am so anxiously awaiting the call from our Lord and Savior’s call to join him in Heaven. He was only 64. Yes, I know the best is yet to come. As a Jerusalemite and an archaeology scholar who studied under Dr. Gabi Barkay, I want to thank you for this vlog. I have also explored the valley myself many times. As you mentioned, it can be a bit creepy, and you have to be careful around some of the neighbors. The lowest part of the Valley of Hinnom is one of the most fascinating and mysterious places in Jerusalem. This area resembles what ancient Jerusalem looked like during the First and Second Temple periods. There are many legends and myths about Akeldama, such as the one that claims the soil in and around the House of Bones took on a remarkable quality of holiness. Bodies cast into the pit were said to decompose within twenty-four hours without polluting the air with foul smells. Jerusalem is a center of great forces, both good and evil, known for its great light and great darkness. The Turks used this place to execute criminals, hanging them with a rope and then throwing their bodies through the openings from above. There is a large network of underground burial caves in this area. I'm glad Sergio didn't go inside one of the burial caves. Entering the caves should be avoided, as only archaeologists in special suits should enter to prevent "cave fever" (a fever caused by Borrelia bacteria). You need to be equipped with water and a flashlight and secured with a tied rope so you don't lose your way back, as it's like a maze down there. Keep up the great work! Wishing you all the best.

I was there many years ago with a tour company. Best trip ever. So much history. I went when there was a little peace. I wanted to go back in 2023 but at 85 and a heavy war going on, I know my second trip won happen. It would be impossible to see every place of importance within a week. I doubt the area that these two young people are exploring would be on a tour. Thank goodness for RUclips. We can learn so much. Thank this young man for opening our eyes to this discovery.

The Arabs or Muslims who live in and around Jerusalem are hostile. They actually go to the GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE AND THROW THEIR GARBAGE OUT THERE, AS WELL AS THE ANCIENT OLIVE GROVES RIGHT NEXT TO IT. PLACES WHERE WE KNOW Jesus and His disciples visited often. Pray for ISRAEL but also pray for the local Arabs to have their spiritual eyes opened by God, and come to Jesus too.

Thank you Sergio and Rhoda for showing me these wonderful places in Jerusalem and Israel. I have not been blessed to be able to come to Israel and now I'm getting too old and disabled to do steps or walk very far. I do wish I would have gone when I was younger, but I was busy working and supporting my family. I just want you to know that what you do makes a difference in my life and in others' lives. You are right, this shows how short our life is here on earth. Where would we go in life but to our Lord Jesus, Yeshua the Messiah.

I too would love to go, and the wars wouldn't stop me. However, my crippled body does. Praying for a partial healing so that I may go. Real Peace will not come until Jesus returns at the Battle of Armageddon and separates the sheep from the goats. God bless!

It actually would be Israel putting up the no trespassing sign in Arabic for them to read. They don't seem to understand the concepts of not taking what is not theirs -like a cemetery for their farming use.
It's a cultural difference I think. They have different values and I'm saying that as euphemistically as possible to be kind. Ultimately, I really don't think they care and therein lies the major difference.

Excellent video! I'm glad to have been able to go on the adventure with you through your video. My wife and I had purchased travel tickets to travel to Israel last November but the October 7th invasion made it impossible to go and they had to refund our money. We hope after the war that tourists will be allowed to come back to Israel. As believers in Jesus, we so want to see the places our Lord walked and lived. Thanks for sharing this video.

I agree that they seemed to have done a lot of research, which makes one wonder why this was over dramatized with the music etc. There are plenty of videos of people visiting the site, and it clear it is private property and you are supposed to go with a guide. That right now people are especially sensitive should be obvious. Just because somebody speaks Arabic doesn't mean they are a danger to people. It's more the other way around. Hundreds of Palestinians die everyday.

Hi, just another lil old lady here who is thankful for your studies and trips all over Israel (I have wanted to come there all my life but unable to do so). You bring to life for us so much of scripture that would be impossible for us to see in our lifetimes if not for your efforts. I just want to thank you both and tell you that I love you both for your love of HIM and your efforts to show us those things we would never see otherwise. So thank you very much and may YAH be with you in all your efforts as you live the most exciting lives imaginable for many of us and allow us to live it with you . One of the things the High priest was forbidden to do was to tear his clothing. The passage is found in Leviticus 21 and says:
10 ‘He who is the high priest among his brethren, on whose head the anointing oil was poured and who is consecrated to wear the garments, shall not uncover his head nor tear his clothes;
Caiaphas asked Jesus if he (Jesus) was the Son of God and Jesus answered to the affirmative, the High priest tore his clothes which was absolutely forbidden. Matthew 26:62-65
Not only does this show how far the priesthood had fallen from their holiness, it also meant that Caiaphas could no longer be the high priest because he broke the law thereby making Jesus the true high priest. Caiaphas saw Jesus as a threat to the existing religious order.

Hey Sergio & Rhoda. Really love your channel. In 2019 I had a few days by myself in Jerusalem and decided to go and explore the Hinnom Valley. I went uphill from the pool of Bethesda and taking in the impressions of the valley and thinking about it`s history, especially what gave it the association with Gehenna. I could see that the authorities had tried to make it look pretty but the atmosphere still seemed dark. As I walked furhter up there was even raw sewage flowing down from a proken pipe.
I did find ancient stairs going up to Akeldama, found that big building and climbed down into it. As I did I could hear some strange noises, only to find a guy obviously watching something on his cellphone that I won't get into...gave me the creeps and I turned aroundand fled the place immediately. He did not follow me, he probably did not expect anybody to come there, either... Outside I stumbled into the same burial caves as you did, and found some bone that I felt looked much like th bottom end of a human's spine... I am not of the faint of hearts, but I left there, praying Psalm 23 the whole time... :-) All the way to the upper end of the valley I felt like in 2000+ years it has not been able to shake off it's dark past.

My dad went to meet the Lord yesterday. He always wanted to see the Holy Land so this video brought new tears to my eyes. Yet, in a way, he is now in the most Holy place he could ever be. And when you read John 14:6, that made is so real for me. My dad really met Jesus yesterday. And I am so happy for him. It hurts tremendously that he is gone. But, I too, get to meet Jesus one day, and see my dad again. And call him by name. Although he will be brother and not my dad, it will be a most precious reuniting.

Much love back, dear friend and sibling in Christ! Our condolences for your temporary loss. When my mentor passed away (Sergio here), it hurt so bad. But then couple days in I realized, I don't even know if I get to live another day.. so what's the point of the sad face of if I might get to see him tomorrow? That had been the daily hope since then. I might see him tomorrow; only Lord knows when. In the meantime, there's so still so much work to do today. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. ❤️
