He plays a G# instead of a G during the turnaround in the main riff 0:38, 0:49; 0:59 and so on. Giving that major blues flavor. Also at 3:00 when the riff is modified. You can see that cheeky smile when he does that.
Dang, just got in to work and this is already up!!!! Saw the teaser last night before I left..... I love Dan!! Just don't sing Dan, you're awesome enough on bass!! So in the odd event everyone who already commented is disqualified - - BEND THAT NOTE DAN !!!!!!!! (playing G# should be A)
So, the actual main riff is supposed to be, if I'm not wrong (the part in bold is the interesting one): E - G - G# - A - E - C(bend here, but I'm not sure if you bend strings in the bass, i guess you do) - A D - E - CDC(hammer-on and pull-off) - A - A - C(i'd bend here again) - A - *G - A - A* - D - E - C - D - A And Dan is doing (notice the part with the strikethrough): E - G - G# - A - E - C(bend here, but I'm not sure if you bend strings in the bass, i guess you do) - A D - E - CDC(hammer-on and pull-off) - A - A - C(i'd bend here again) - A - *-G - G# - A-* - D - E - C - D - A which fits, it's just not the exactly original riff, the problem is that Phil X and Dan aren't doing the same, and that maybe sounds a bit weird but hey, one more rehear and you got the song perfectly done ;) If I am wrong please tell me so I learn more!
Who cares about a wrong note...this was flipping awesome...And why does everyone leave off the Open A during the first part of Jimmy's solo??? The run after his short intro lick....Jimmy hits that open A each time after the repeating run up the neck Lick. Great Performance and the Tracked Guitars...Loved it. And cant wait for the new Drills Album...
Why all these comments about t him playing a wrong note, seriously? Get a grip folks, I've been knowing this tune for a long while now and believe me, I didn't notice anything wrong with this performance, except for when Phil forgets the lyrics.
I think everyone's already got it by now, but Dan should be playing G then A twice but instead plays G G# A every time. Also Phil your voice suits Zeppelin stuff really well.
Dan goes from G to Ab then to A instead of going from G directly to A and A in the second half of the main riff throughout the whole song and in 3:00 he gets a bit sloppy
+philx1111 Hey Phil: so where is the list of correct answers posted ?? Cheers dude ! \m/ BTW: still no news or release date for the new Drills album ??
+daniel spriewald That would be kinda awesome really... seeing as how I just opened up a 'way huge' spot on my board yesterday by consolidating some gear and re-cabling.
It's in the end of the main riff when you're on the D-string the last time and play G A A before the final descent on the A-string. He played G A-flat A, like in the begining of the riff, first time on the D-string.
Winner: there *is* a G-G#-A right off the bat in that riff, but Daniel is playing it again late in the stanza where it should be G-A-A...followed by D-E-C-D-A G#[bend]A
Where to begin?! Loads of wrong notes to be honest. The original key is Bb innit? After the breakdown the original goes Bb- G then finishes on F - Eb. This version the breakdown at 1:48 goes from A -F# finishing on G -F#. Completely different
+Bobby Davro wow. you really don't get it at all. maybe you should get out and jam some shit you don't know rather that sit in your bedroom and pick shit apart. Did you see how much fun they were having?
I also own a 1969 Gibson Crest... Believe it or not, I paid $500.00 Brand new!... I didn't really play it that much... Still a nice guitar.... They have appreciated in value, but you have to find the right person that would want such a guitar.....My regular Guitar is a PRS.... Wouldn't make any sense to play the Crest... I get it out now and then, though.....
A little late here, but I'd happily give you twice what you paid for that Gibson Crest if you've still got it, haha! Seriously though, feel free to reach out if you're looking to sell it
I'd like to call the wrong note a G sharp instead as the song is in the Key of A of which G sharp is the major 7th in the Key as opposed to enharmonically being called A Flat. That's just the way I would perceive it. However the note can still be called A flat but I wouldn't transcribe it as that in the Key of A. Unless this is considered to be written in the Key of E Major but it would still be a G sharp.
Every comment saying Ab instead of A, and I just don't hear it (i might be going deaf) so my guess is that there is no wrong note and they're trying to pull a fast one.
+acdcrocker22 Hi AC/DC friend. It's in the end of the main riff when you're on the D-string the last time and play G A A before the final descent on the A-string. He played G A-flat A, like in the begining of the riff, first time on the D-string. I didn't have to look on the comments but I actually couldn't hear for 3 minutes or so, because I'm too freaking use to having to hearing guitar parts when I learn. I had to check the original then I heard it right away. Stupid annoyingness, I wanted that pedal. Also, RUclips didn't inform me when this video came up, So it wouldn't matter.
Every time I hear a Friedman amp I wonder what life would be like with one kidney.
That guitar tone is to die for.
That second invisible guitar fucked with my brain for the first half of the song!
i think it's a harmoniser.
Well Phil just makes any guitar he plays sound amazing. Its all in the hands.. just mad skills.
Hay!!! I hear a rhythm guitar track during the solo. Right like I could've come close. Great job guys.
Always rockin it, keep the music alive ☺🎶🎼🎵🎼🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
That was superb boys, so cool. Love Dan's expressions, looks like a kid at Christmas!!
Can't stop pressing '3'... effing rad drummer \m/
ladies and gentlemen, this is what a professional looks like. phil x is the man
He plays a G# instead of a G during the turnaround in the main riff 0:38, 0:49; 0:59 and so on. Giving that major blues flavor.
Also at 3:00 when the riff is modified. You can see that cheeky smile when he does that.
Freaking Phil does both Plant and Page simultaneously - he is a crazy genius mon...!
That was awesome! You rock it!!!!
Mega tone Phil!
(playing G# should be A)
Thanks
+daniel spriewald HUGE fan since "Middle Finger" video!!! You Rock Dan!
I love this so much, few people can REALLY cover zeppelin
That guitar is a beauty
Killed it Phil yet again💯%🔥🔥🔥
Instead of playing twice the A, he play G-Ab-A, in the end of the main riff !
Thanks for all of your videos !
So, the actual main riff is supposed to be, if I'm not wrong (the part in bold is the interesting one):
E - G - G# - A - E - C(bend here, but I'm not sure if you bend strings in the bass, i guess you do) - A
D - E - CDC(hammer-on and pull-off) - A - A - C(i'd bend here again) - A - *G - A - A* - D - E - C - D - A
And Dan is doing (notice the part with the strikethrough):
E - G - G# - A - E - C(bend here, but I'm not sure if you bend strings in the bass, i guess you do) - A
D - E - CDC(hammer-on and pull-off) - A - A - C(i'd bend here again) - A - *-G - G# - A-* - D - E - C - D - A
which fits, it's just not the exactly original riff, the problem is that Phil X and Dan aren't doing the same, and that maybe sounds a bit weird
but hey, one more rehear and you got the song perfectly done ;)
If I am wrong please tell me so I learn more!

Matt Star is one of the better drummers you are ever gunna wanna listen to and watch play.
Quick Question.. How in the hell did you get GG Allin clean enough to play drums?
Why all these comments about t him playing a wrong note, seriously? Get a grip folks, I've been knowing this tune for a long while now and believe me, I didn't notice anything wrong with this performance, except for when Phil forgets the lyrics.
Awesome...
On another note... Is the gold pedal on the floor in front of Phil and Way Huge Fat Sandwich? Cause the tone is wonderfully sublime...
Dan played D, D#, E in the riff. pretty sure its D, E, E. did I win?
I think everyone's already got it by now, but Dan should be playing G then A twice but instead plays G G# A every time. Also Phil your voice suits Zeppelin stuff really well.
Phil way cool !
Is that Ming The Merciless on drums?
Dan goes from G to Ab then to A instead of going from G directly to A and A in the second half of the main riff throughout the whole song and in 3:00 he gets a bit sloppy
Interesting the divide between people saying A flat and G sharp when they're the same note. I wonder why
+tvoy batya It must have to do with whichever scale someone is playing in.
Instead of G-A-A before the walk down he plays G-G#-A...but it sounds cool.
+sickb2200 i'm not allowed to play an A . coz the Highest i got was a D minus in music class .
Does sound a little strange. a flat instead of a. No matter, you guys rock!
Some Doors stuff would also be cool on this 69 Gibson
Ming the merciless on drums
why are viewers still answering the question? we had the first 10 correct answers 2 days ago.
+philx1111 Hey Phil: so where is the list of correct answers posted ?? Cheers dude ! \m/
BTW: still no news or release date for the new Drills album ??
Lol people will probably still be answering a year from now
+CJSchecter96 haha. damn straight.
+philx1111 the video was of the contest just hit my video feed this morning.. probably a few others as well..
Yeah so he played the A Flat instead of an A, it's really funny once you hear it.
You guys are all wrong... the note he's missing was the note reminding him his lunch box was in the fridge. Wasn't it obvious?
+Stratomacaster Haha, this got me pretty good. :)
Haha! Damn "post it" fell off my amp.
You should win for that comment.
+daniel spriewald That would be kinda awesome really... seeing as how I just opened up a 'way huge' spot on my board yesterday by consolidating some gear and re-cabling.
Ab instead of a in the descending part definitely. Anyway, the drummer kicks assess!!
you Rock!
It's in the end of the main riff when you're on the D-string the last time and play G A A before the final descent on the A-string. He played G A-flat A, like in the begining of the riff, first time on the D-string.
Γεια σου Ξενίδη Θεέ!
Sassy Saucy solo it's the bass playing Ab instead of A in the main riff
But the tone in the video is unbelievable
yep, as the guys below said, it's an Ab instead of A in the main riff
Winner: there *is* a G-G#-A right off the bat in that riff, but Daniel is playing it again late in the stanza where it should be G-A-A...followed by D-E-C-D-A G#[bend]A
Aflat should be A , I'm sure the winner been picked by now tho....owell love the videos anyways
Ab instead of A :) love the vids :)
What's Phil rig now? Friedman,76 JMP retired for newer Marshall? Is that a Lee Jackson/Ampeg 4x12 cab? So many ??? Haha
works for me
You guys are better at this then I am. I think I hear it but can't.
It's a competition you bellend. There's an effects pedal up for grabs if you spot the bass player's mistake. See Phil X's previous video.
+Kevin Campbell gets it.
Don't know what bass player done wrong was to busy watching Phill rock..That should be the correct answer!!
Ab every time instead of A. Even though it's "wrong," it still sounds sick
On the main riff, Dan plays a G# between the G and the A, instead of G and twice A from the original recording. Badass cover anyway.
Jack Shaw i am possibly the right person....let me know if you are interested in selling the crest
A little late here, but I'd happily give you twice what you paid for that Gibson Crest if you've still got it, haha! Seriously though, feel free to reach out if you're looking to sell it
he stepped on the chord and it almost came out?
why this video is private?
There's a ghost in the recording control room window at 1:17! Did I win?
no, its just a person in the control room. i win.
Ab instead of A in the descending part of the riff
He played E flat instead of E
P.S awesome cover
Fucking killed as usual.
Dan played a g# instead of g natural on the tail end of the main riff
I'd like to call the wrong note a G sharp instead as the song is in the Key of A of which G sharp is the major 7th in the Key as opposed to enharmonically being called A Flat. That's just the way I would perceive it. However the note can still be called A flat but I wouldn't transcribe it as that in the Key of A. Unless this is considered to be written in the Key of E Major but it would still be a G sharp.
On the main riff he plays the flat 5 (G#) on a walk up instead of playing the A twice
Yeah he plays Ab instead of A but, it's friggin' Johnny Depp! Give the dude a break! LOL
is this in studio 606?
Every comment saying Ab instead of A, and I just don't hear it (i might be going deaf) so my guess is that there is no wrong note and they're trying to pull a fast one.
+acdcrocker22 Hi AC/DC friend. It's in the end of the main riff when you're on the D-string the last time and play G A A before the final descent on the A-string. Dan plays Ab in the main riff instead of playing A, still sounds good though ;)
Oh Ohhhh Phils stirred a shit storm again.... A.... Ab.... I play an F there.... because an F is all I give.
Did it actually f major
He's playing a G# instead of an A in the second half of the main riff.
A#7bulk riff then a first invervon f major coming up
Going up to 1 that is
1:08
At 0:59 the bass player should be playing an A instead of a G sharp!!!
he made you forget the words twice !
Yes!
I'll find a pedal in my studio to give you for that comment.
A Flat instead of A?
He played an Ab in the main riff where it should be A!!
A flat or G sharp. Technically g# in the key of A.
He plays a Bb instead of A in the riff riff
He plays a G# instead of an A at the end the main riff.
He played Ab instead of A in the riff
yeah hes playin a flat everytime dog
Ab instead of A in the main riff

He plays an Ab instead of an A in the main riff.
He plays an Ab every time he should play an A in the main riff
He plays A flat instead of A on the main riff
Since when is Gg Allin drumming for the Drills!?
He goes g, a flat, a instead of g, a, a at the end of the main riff
A flat, like everyone else has already said
oops he played the last note instead of a e it was a f
Dan plays a F sharp instead of a G in the riff \m/
the bass player plays the A flat instead of an A in the main riff
Drummer forgot his gum...
Ab, A, whatever it takes.
I'll go with A flat instead of A for the block Monty...weed is legal here....
He played an Ab instead of the A
Ab instead of A. Or Maybe G# instead of A. :) But I'm probably too late.
he does a chromatic run up from g to a instead of hitting the a twice
plays an a flat instead of a regular a on the main riff
