Alpacas de Gredos: Successes and Plans

Today, I cut the tall grasses with our weed-wacker, and within a few hours the hembras were grazing in the areas that I cut. Usually, I leave the tall grasses go to seed because I didn't understand much about grasslands and grazing alpacas. However, after watching the alpacas avoid the tall grasses, preferring to nibble on short grasses, I read some articles on the internet, and I learned that the tall grasses are fibrous and low in sugar. Shorter grasses 10cm or 4 inches are much more tasty for our alpacas.
