    Beautiful work my friend. I have one of these generators that I fixed. I got it for £40 and all it needed was a new spark plug and cylinder head gasket. Keep up the good work.

    I've brought dozens of these back to life. When they stop working folks just throw them away, but they are so simple to fix and can be very reliable. My back up generator for my boat for 8 years.

      It always bothers me when people use a paint stripper then media blast it anyway. Wasted time and materials lol. Just media blast it and be done

      @@joshuamorin2762 they do that if its lead paint. They remove it chemically first so there wont be lead particles created when they sandblast.

    That generator is small compared to what we have in the US. Smallest I could find was 1200 watts.

    What have we learnt from this video?

    Your grass looks great! The drill bit seems dull. The decal work excellent. The oven is nice. Good you could get replacement parts. I like the finished effort, well done!

    After watching some of your videos, I think you are doing a good job , especially with your editing. Might I suggest adding a materials list either in the description or at the end of the video. It would be especially useful to know where you find some of your parts. Those cheap Chinese made generators were sold by the millions under all sorts of brand names.

    that appears to be the exact same ultrasonic cleaner I use, except i use carb dip cleaner (comes in a gallon can at auto parts stores) in mine instead of soapy water. they really are time savers.

    Did I miss a video about the powder coating machine, have you ever mention it ? Never know you could do it yourself, I know it's easy, powder, magnetic and bake it. You triggered me to find out more about it, it would be great to do it also myself. Also, nice to see subtitles, good addition!!!

      @@MachineryRestorer Was it worth it? I would say no, at least not to those standards, for several reasons. Firstly, I find that about 1200 watts are needed to start many refrigerators, which is an important job for generators to preserve food during blackouts, so these little ones have reduced utility. Secondly, partial choke probably would have kept the generator usable in the short term, and constant, liberal use of fuel detergent likely would have helped in the longer term. Thirdly, you could likely prevent future rust by taking it to a self serve car wash and spraying it down with spray wax, which made all the sandblasting and powdering work unnecessary. though cleaning the cooling fins might have been necessary, i'm not sure; but generally, I think it could have been made useful and flipped with far less work and expense.
      How did the finances work? Did you make money on it? I never seem to see cost/benefit ratios on these vids.

    I just fixed one of these up I found at a garage sale. Just needed a new spark plug wire and recoil cord. A little carburetor adjustment and fresh gas, it starts right up.

      I haven't done it for... ooops... 15 years but as far as I can remember, yes! At least with a decent blasting rig. I had access to a pro cabinet with big compressor at that time.

    How do do you get correct dimensions of the decals for photoshop and where do you get them printed

      I measure the decals and then submit the dimentions into my software. I use Affinity Designer. Some are printed by myself and others I get another company to make.

      It may be the carburetor overflow, they might have done a really rubbish job at the factory. Just a guess, I could very well be wrong.

    When removing paint I recommend using paint stripper then use the sandblaster to remove the rust or rest of paint

    If you want to look after posh drills never use a spade bits. They eventually wreck the drill crankshaft. Use circulars.

    It would be very nice if you would make an epoxy coating inside the gas tank. It could be very helpful in the case of rusty tank an of the future carburetor clogging. Sorry for my bad English.

    Nice resto! Just an FYI, out of the box, there are 2 small gaskets that go between the handle and the gas tank.

    Twice to make sure I was on the right channel I kind enjoy the commentary. Also to clean small parts used a tea screen it looks like a little basket used for making tea with leaves.

    This honestly wasn't much of a restoration, he didnt even remove the corrosion from the inside of the fuel tank, or even simply replace the spark plug. he just made it look pretty.

    Starts well but it doesn't want to go to work for a living. It did work hard for the money, to begin with. And looking at the inside it does look very tired and in need of TLC before it works. Powder coating cool

    I love your channel! However, that poor paddle bit has seen much sharper days. ;)
    I'd love to see a modification video where the ports are ground to allow for more flow as well as the head brought down a bit; for more compression. Just as an example modification for demonstration purposes.

    totally worth restoring. Why ? because you now know the whole machine inside and out. you can repair it if you need too AND be less dependent on sending it "off" for repairs. This is a real problem with todays mechanical/electrical items from mega stores.

    I love the fact that u showed weather it works or not before u start the restoration, not many people do that in there videoe.
    I restore stuff like lawnmowers,cars, and more, but I like to look at the restoration videos to get info on how to work on a specific thing and also to get ideas for what my next project should be, so thank u for ur hard work and effort
