Beautiful work my friend. I have one of these generators that I fixed. I got it for £40 and all it needed was a new spark plug and cylinder head gasket. Keep up the good work.
Love the restoration vids good job maybe do one on sharpening drill bits lol
@Skodaman2 she must be really hot. *ba dum tss*
Just a little bit duller and you'll be able to start a campfire with that thing.
It actually shows that the generator can handle a bit of load - better than before.
Or having the drill spinning the rite way
LOL Burned a hole in that wood!!!
Dagger, I'm genuinely impressed. Awesome video. Damn professional work.
PS, sharpen your spade bit... 🤣🤣🤣
I've brought dozens of these back to life. When they stop working folks just throw them away, but they are so simple to fix and can be very reliable. My back up generator for my boat for 8 years.
i must admit I was hoping to see some work on the alternator etc :(
But great work on the finished product 👍
First
Agreed
I actually wanted to see what condition the field coils were in.
Finally, someone sand blasting before removing rust and paint...
No it is better t temove paint better
It always bothers me when people use a paint stripper then media blast it anyway. Wasted time and materials lol. Just media blast it and be done
@@joshuamorin2762 they do that if its lead paint. They remove it chemically first so there wont be lead particles created when they sandblast.
Those labels are absolutely fantastic. Great work at giving this little genny a new lease of life!
He got himself one of those new more efficient, wood burning drill bits. Nice 👍
Why do people dislike Daggerwis vids. I mean if u didn't like it then move along. Am I right?
I think people may dislike because if no talking. Thats the only thing I can think of
@Samuel Lynch I'm dyslexic and have trouble spelling
Samuel Lynch Here’s Mr. Spelling Inspector.
Nice job!
That generator is small compared to what we have in the US. Smallest I could find was 1200 watts.
What I like about this guy is he does everything proper, and not just paint over rust like some other “restoration” channels
The powder coating is a very cool process. I definitely want to get into that.
Very helpful having a little generator like that that you can carry easy that can run your drills and grinders
What have we learnt from this video?
Machinery restorer has some blunt ass drill bits
Also that he has a great talent at the labour of love
Your grass looks great! The drill bit seems dull. The decal work excellent. The oven is nice. Good you could get replacement parts. I like the finished effort, well done!
After watching some of your videos, I think you are doing a good job , especially with your editing. Might I suggest adding a materials list either in the description or at the end of the video. It would be especially useful to know where you find some of your parts. Those cheap Chinese made generators were sold by the millions under all sorts of brand names.
Next week on machinery restorer.... Daggerwin restores blunt wood bit 😂 but in fairness, top job. Labels came out great.
Thanks
You took something that was neglected, looked and ran like shyte, and turned it into a beautiful, serviceable generator again. Bravo!
that appears to be the exact same ultrasonic cleaner I use, except i use carb dip cleaner (comes in a gallon can at auto parts stores) in mine instead of soapy water. they really are time savers.
I prefer the videos that you are talking. keep the videos coming. thanks for sharing.
That's one dull drill bit 😂 great restoration 👌👍 I'm stil tryin a get my snowblower runnin.
Everything looked surprisingly good from the get go. Love these vids man GG
Wow it looks like spring is coming in your garden Daggerwin, i hear a lot of birds singing!
Did I miss a video about the powder coating machine, have you ever mention it ? Never know you could do it yourself, I know it's easy, powder, magnetic and bake it. You triggered me to find out more about it, it would be great to do it also myself. Also, nice to see subtitles, good addition!!!
I used it in my Westwood gemini rotavator restoration too. :)
@@MachineryRestorer Was it worth it? I would say no, at least not to those standards, for several reasons. Firstly, I find that about 1200 watts are needed to start many refrigerators, which is an important job for generators to preserve food during blackouts, so these little ones have reduced utility. Secondly, partial choke probably would have kept the generator usable in the short term, and constant, liberal use of fuel detergent likely would have helped in the longer term. Thirdly, you could likely prevent future rust by taking it to a self serve car wash and spraying it down with spray wax, which made all the sandblasting and powdering work unnecessary. though cleaning the cooling fins might have been necessary, i'm not sure; but generally, I think it could have been made useful and flipped with far less work and expense.
How did the finances work? Did you make money on it? I never seem to see cost/benefit ratios on these vids.
wow the powder coating turned out really well!
I just fixed one of these up I found at a garage sale. Just needed a new spark plug wire and recoil cord. A little carburetor adjustment and fresh gas, it starts right up.
Thanks for a good movie will help me a lot with my generator. .
Great restoration my friend! Your skills are off the hook!
You are very thorough! Fantastic job, sir!
I love watching sandblasting. Is it as satisfying doing it as it is to watch it?
I haven't done it for... ooops... 15 years but as far as I can remember, yes! At least with a decent blasting rig. I had access to a pro cabinet with big compressor at that time.
Love the restoration. I also like the part where you fixed the grammar mistake on the decal at 16:20 mark. Lol
Subscribed, with bell on.
Love the labels very professional
How do do you get correct dimensions of the decals for photoshop and where do you get them printed
I measure the decals and then submit the dimentions into my software. I use Affinity Designer. Some are printed by myself and others I get another company to make.
@@MachineryRestorer hi daggerwin
@@matthewbrown2109 yo is this actually him? I thought he sounded exactly like him.
Loving the vids keep it up
Absolutely brilliant work on that generator
I love taking stuff apart,, it’s the putting it back together hahahahaha
Who doesn’t like taking things apart
little gasman,, yeah your not human if you don’t haha
3:50 why does it look like someone has literally drilled a hole through the carburetor? Top left quarter
Ryn Wolfeh same I thought so too
It may be the carburetor overflow, they might have done a really rubbish job at the factory. Just a guess, I could very well be wrong.
He did say it was a cheap generator lol
Wait are you a furry? I am
This one is almost brandnew compared to some generator here in philippines. .
Thanks bro it never occured to me to use a drill with it, i can work outdoors now 😂😂😂
Good painting job
It looks brand new
You are good at restoring and you should do more bigger projects I only found this channel from your daggerwin channel I enjoy all your content from both channels keep it up
Another great restoration! Okay, I liked the red gas tank, but if black grey was original, then definitely go with that.
Good job on the gen...Need to restore the sharpness of that spade bit...Didn't cut, but burned right through that wood!!!
When removing paint I recommend using paint stripper then use the sandblaster to remove the rust or rest of paint
Fandomtexas Gaming Sandblasting removes paint easier btw
Gotta love that original "Engrish" warning label! 😂
such a pleasure to watch videos like this one
If you want to look after posh drills never use a spade bits. They eventually wreck the drill crankshaft. Use circulars.
Love your videos their so relaxing, just one thing, I always thought fuel tanks on domestic appliances have to be red by law.
Great resto but I think I’d be investing in some new spade bits😜
Was that one of those new fire staring bit? LOL
That's the funniest thing I've read in a while! *Well done.*
Excellent work👍
It would be very nice if you would make an epoxy coating inside the gas tank. It could be very helpful in the case of rusty tank an of the future carburetor clogging. Sorry for my bad English.
Nice resto! Just an FYI, out of the box, there are 2 small gaskets that go between the handle and the gas tank.
Nice vid really well restored as a person who restores things as well I found it deeply interesting I love your channel and I'm also 12 but I can use most the tools you use thank you 👍🏻
I think that spade drill bit might need sharpening... If that was smoke coming from it. Great video. Love the powder coating.
I had one of those a while back. God it was terrible... But great job, looks awesome!
What is the white sandblasting media you use? It looks like play sand? Great video, I watched every minute!
I have a genarator like that but gmc rescued it from scrap fixed it up and it runs like a dream
Definitely worth it. A good generator is damn useful.
Fantastic job
Perfect powder coating, Australia is watching
A lot of work but very nicely done
Twice to make sure I was on the right channel I kind enjoy the commentary. Also to clean small parts used a tea screen it looks like a little basket used for making tea with leaves.
That powder coating is awesome.
This honestly wasn't much of a restoration, he didnt even remove the corrosion from the inside of the fuel tank, or even simply replace the spark plug. he just made it look pretty.
wow! that gas tank looks really good. definitely worth it.
Great channel, just a quick one what size generator would i need to run a kettle drill and grinder much appreciated
That paint removing was so satisfying
What's your process for keeping all the fasteners and hardware sorted and put back in the correct place?
Just found your channel! your filming style looks a LOT like Samodel's, and i must say i LOVE this style of making videos! very enjoyable, thank you!
awesome restoration keep up the good work
you dug a lot further into a $99 generator then most of us would have very well done indeed
good to see this channel getting vids again i watch the daggerwin main channel alot but i really enjoy this one as well
Well you make that generator look and run great, but you need to sharpen that spade bit for sure... Thumbs Up!
Good job daggerwin
Great restoration job.
Loving your restoration channel, I"m enjoying your videos, I love everything you do, very interesting to watch and outstanding 😊 @Machinery Restorer
His drill was in reverse haha🤭 great video all the same 👍🏻👍🏻
Wow. Went as far as sandblasting. That's when you you know someone is true to their hobby
Nice restoration. I’m a little confused about the oil/gas label. It is obviously a 4 stroke engine.
It's a 2 stroke
the cute little BB generator.
Starts well but it doesn't want to go to work for a living. It did work hard for the money, to begin with. And looking at the inside it does look very tired and in need of TLC before it works. Powder coating cool
Great video...very well done. You are not a man of very many words, which is good. Can you say where you were able to get the parts from?
Well done colleague!!!
WOW! That came out wonderful!
I love your channel! However, that poor paddle bit has seen much sharper days. ;)
I'd love to see a modification video where the ports are ground to allow for more flow as well as the head brought down a bit; for more compression. Just as an example modification for demonstration purposes.
7:07 so satisfying
Happy lil generator
Nice job.
Great vid. Can you tell me the rust removal solution you use?
Wow I love videos like this daggerwin keep it up
totally worth restoring. Why ? because you now know the whole machine inside and out. you can repair it if you need too AND be less dependent on sending it "off" for repairs. This is a real problem with todays mechanical/electrical items from mega stores.
Awesome! What program did you use to create the labels? How did you determine to not break the engine down any further? Thanks!
We were had one like that in 2005 tiger 950 its just 1kv ☝️👌😂😂😂😂😂 nice job brother
Brilliant restoration dag. Really looks the part. Wish these vids were a bit more frequent but hey ho I know u lead a busy life with dagger with channel as well. Keep it up
I love the fact that u showed weather it works or not before u start the restoration, not many people do that in there videoe.
I restore stuff like lawnmowers, cars, and more, but I like to look at the restoration videos to get info on how to work on a specific thing and also to get ideas for what my next project should be, so thank u for ur hard work and effort
Great work. Exceptional restoration as usual. I have this very generator, and the little thing is a amazing.
You need to restore that drill bit!
Interesting to see the powder coating! Great work. Would love to know how you print the decals!
Nice have u back after ur break
