    One thing to note, it's not the RX that is randomly assigning improper channels. By default, the MT12 has the channel assignment set as "TS", meaning throttle is channel 1 and steering is channel 2. You have to go into the radio's setup page (not the model setup) and change the default channel assignment to "ST". By doing this, any NEW models created will have the proper channel assignments already created. However, any existing models that were in place before the default change will not automatically change. You will have to either change the channel assignments as you show in this video or delete the model and create a new one with the correct default channels.
    To change the default order, do the following:
    - Hit the SYS key on the radio, then use the Page > button to get to Page 3.
    - Using the scroll wheel, scroll down on Page 3 until you see "Def chan order". The option is quite far down on the page (after GPS Coords and Country Code).
    - Press the scroll wheel to select the value and then using the scroll wheel change the value to show "ST".
    - Press the RTN button to get back to the main screen.
    Now, every new model will have the proper "1 to turn, 2 to burn" channel assignment.

      Awesome comment!
      You are absolutely correct that this is the better way to "fix" this. I stumbled across this in the heat of the moment and use the first/ best method I could think of on the spot. The correctus. Of course that then locks me in for the future if I don't go back and make the adjustment that you recommend it.
      I will outline the method you just gave in a future video to let guys know that there is more than one way to skin a cat. Fortunately, with this radio there seems to always be multiple ways to skin that cat, so it's a great opportunity for guys to get creative. That said, sometimes that creativity can cause extra problems later. Things before you run into a problem. What definitely help people out.
      Thanks for taking the time to write such a comprehensive comment that I'm sure will be useful to a lot of people!

    Awesome radio man, I might have to try out one of these radios someday i'm currently using a Radiolink RC8X and i've also had a lot of Traxxas TQI radios and a Futaba 4PM non plus version.

      I'm enjoying it so far. If you are fine with the User interface and programming, it's a solid unit!
      I made a big deal about the multi-protocol features, but I will most likely keep all my non-RTR rigs on FlySky Rx's due to their low cost and great performance for the money. It is really nice knowing you don't HAVE TO stick with one specific brand, though. I've got a few random Rx's left over from other projects that I was going to sell on ebay that I'll probably keep now... assuming I can figure out which protocol they use. 😁

    Lots of good info. However when you said you starting from scratch setting up telemetry, you started from somewhere in the middle? If you get bored, please start from the beginning.

    HI You directed me to this video {which is great} from the facebook group . My question is why do I not see the failsafe option on my radio .. I am not using the 4 in 1 version but rather the elrs version. I can set the drag brake in the castle link but am unsure as to weather that would take affect if I were to loose radio signal

    great video. my question to you is how do i set up the timer so it counts down only when throttle is depressed in forward?

    • @RCPhysics
      @RCPhysics  9 месяцев назад +1

      So, you want forward but not in reverse. Hmmm. You might need to set up a logical switch that activates when you have forward throttle and then set up a special function so that the counter only moves when that special function is engaged? I will have to look at this and see if I can figure out how to make that work.

    Can u do a full vid of steering setup cuz idk how to do
    The car keeps going left plz and thx u

    • @RCPhysics
      @RCPhysics  Месяц назад

      Is it 1) drifting to the left as you drive, but returning to center (implying a possible servo issue), or 2) Constantly offset to the left (implying you need to set up a trim switch, sub-trim, or recenter your servo horn)?

    • @KVNGSYN
      @KVNGSYN Месяц назад +1

      @@RCPhysics not this but when I’m driving it goes to the right like it isn’t centred well I need to make the front wheel face forward but idk how to set it up

    • @RCPhysics
      @RCPhysics  Месяц назад

      @KVNGSYN Ahhh It sounds like your toe settings may be off. In short, you can't set up your car's wheels to go perfectly straight forward to back because any slop in the suspension will actually cause your wheels to turn slightly outward when you drive. To counter this, you actually set the front wheels to have a slight turning angle that opposes each other so they cancel out when the car is driving forward. Typically the front wheels will be angled a little bit outward on the front of the car, this is called toe out, and the rear wheels will be angled slightly inward, which is called tow in. To find a bunch of videos on how to set up the right toe settings for how you drive.
      Does your car have adjustable toe-links?

      Does it give any audio alerts or play tracks? It's possible the speaker came unplugged. If that's not it, you may have a bad unit and might need to do an exchange. 😕

    • @RCPhysics
      @RCPhysics  9 месяцев назад

      It sounds like you need to contact radio master. You probably have a bad radio. Chances are the audio cable to the speaker just came unplugged, so if you feel comfortable opening it up to check, that might be the solution. If you're not comfortable opening up your radio, then you just have to have them send you a replacement.

      Just had this back from radiomaster and it worked, hope this may help someone else........We found this problem, cover the SD card rubber cover, if the plug is too tight, the SD card will be a little deeper, resulting in poor contact with the SD card and can not play audio files, you can open the rubber cover, eject the SD card to reinsert, rubber cover SD card position do not press too tight, you can solve the problem.

    Hello what Rx you use in your mt12 4in1 version? I have a problem, I'm using mt12 4in1 using r85c Rx the problem is the signal 4 bars drops or signal lost, maybe 35 meters a way the signal drops in 2 bars signals.can you help me

    • @RCPhysics
      @RCPhysics  9 дней назад

      I use the Flysky 2A Rx units. They are inexpensive and have worked well with me for years. The r86c units are based on FRSky units, so you may need to fine tune the Rx frequency. You should be able to find a bunch of videos showing how to do this. It's a little involved, but it doesn't look like the process is too bad.
      Good luck!

    • @RCPhysics
      @RCPhysics  9 месяцев назад +1

      @hanger9uk665 It works! Just select the regular FlySky protocol.
      Interesting side note: Remember to increment your receiver numbers when you buying your models so you have unique bindings for each vehicle. If you don't do this, you can actually have multiple cars being controlled by the same radio at the same time. I found this out the hard way when I accidentally had two cars turned on at the same time that were bound to one of my older Flysky radios. I hit the throttle to drive and two cars jumped. It scared the crap out of me!

    Where are these powerful cars you say you have? This one definitely needs an overhaul. I looked through your channel and don’t see anything that resembles a speed build.

    • @RCPhysics
      @RCPhysics  9 месяцев назад

      I started speed running about 10 years ago. Most of the runs on my channel are from back when I was helping to organize the RUN DMV events in the DC area. Actually, the speed pass in the first few seconds of all my recent videos is my Slash 4x4 doing over 100mph during a Run DMV Event. That's how I caught Castle's attention and started working closely with them. I post most of my current build photos in my FB page or IG. You can see photos of my fleet there. Two of the speed cars are featured in my FB Banner photo. facebook.com/rhouse21RCPhysics
      I stopped posting speed run videos after the Run DMV Crew went our separate ways, but I'm planning to start running again this spring now that I've found a new suitable location near me. I currently have 5 Speed cars and enough parts on hand to build a couple more. The current speed fleet consists of...
      1) An ARRMA Limitless with a Castle XLX2 ESC, Sensored 1717 motor, and one of my custom Cap Packs, This is my newest build. I bought it on a whim a few months ago, so it's still coming together. ruclips.net/user/shortsVp_xZBPXmFo
      2) A Traxxas XO-1 with a Castle XLX2 ESC, Sensored 1717 motor, and one of my custom Cap Packs. This car was actually used in the Beta Testing program of the Castle Mamba Monster X 8S and XLX2 ESCs. It's the orange XO-1 all over my FB and IG feeds. I never published any videos of this car doing speed runs because I wasn't trying to break any records or anything. I just having fun with it and use it as a testbed for the custom parts I build/3Dprint. ruclips.net/video/hAYMBCUIYg4/видео.html
      3) A modified Slash 4x4 On-Road Build (the other car in the banner photo of my FB page). I posted in-car footage of this car going 103 mph 7 years ago with a Castle MM2 ESC, a sensorless 1717 motor, and one of my 1st custom cap packs. I also used it to help do Beta Testing for Castle. It currently has an XLX ESC and its OG 1717 motor (keeping it old-school), but I may swap in an MMX-8S for better durability when I start doing runs again this spring. ruclips.net/video/s-vXp4OLpbA/видео.htmlsi=AYccA5XpUEQbAMql
      4) A Team Associated Apex 1:10 Scale speed build. This car has a Mamba X powering a sensored 1406 5700kv. It's very similar to a 4-Tec speed build, but I'm using a modified Slash 4x4 driveshaft to handle the power of the motor better without "hula hooping". ruclips.net/video/_j2MPQHadR4/видео.htmlsi=pOslFE7mbhLm12CG
      5) A "70mph Club" Rustler custom Aero work. This isn't technically a 100mph car right now, but I recently re-built it with a Mamba X and sensored 1415 to see how close to 100mph I can get. If it doesn't make it, I'll swap in one of my sensored 1515s and see how that turns out. ruclips.net/video/9QXFVoZucNg/видео.html
      I've got a couple MMX-8S ESC on hand and some Castle15-series motors, so I'm debating building a Slash 2wd drag car out of parts I have on hand, but I haven't made up my mind.

      ??? This video wasn't sponsored in any way. I've been an OpenTX/EdgeTX user for years and was legitimately excited for this radio. That said, it's far from perfect and I've pointed out several things that need improvement or could be deal breakers for some users
