Romantic creek side cottage. Perfect for a couples getaway. Newly remodeled. Relax on the covered back porch and enjoy the sound of the babbling creek. Conveniently located to lots of activities such as hiking, rafting, shopping and local breweries. 8.8 miles from the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Only 3.7 mi. to Cherokee and 8.5 miles to Bryson City. Fully stocked kitchen. Keurig coffee maker. Coffee, cream and sugar are provided. Smart tv and wifi.
The space
Very cozy and quiet. Great neighborhood. Easy access year round. You can't see other houses from the property but it's sits below a main road, highway noise is minimal. You can hear the creek from inside the cottage if you leave a window open (weather permitting). Nice covered back porch with day bed to relax by the creek and take a nap if you like.

The only thing I CD would really change would be the front porch , screen it in and it would add room and a place for me to sleep or nap. Just screen and that’s all, it would still be outdoorsy, and still keep insects out.
Adorable! The only three changes I would need to make for me would be to enlarge the shower to make it handicap accessible and add grab bars. Secondly I would need a small fenced in area for my two small dogs to get some exercise. Finally, add a ramp off the main entrance so my wheelchair would go in/out easily. I did like the suggestion of screening in the porch to keep the bugs out.

I live in the woods and don't even have a creek running out back! I do have growing and receding teeny lake near my trailer tho.

It's sad Giant corporations are buying up all the "affordable" decent homes for AIR B&B, to charge 4 times the rate of a Fancy Hotel that has room services, massage therapy, exercise rooms, laundry, and an Conseierge (spelling?).
Although the cottage is adorable, I think about so many homeless families that Could live in these homes, and need services & other types of help to keep a roof over their families!!
Someone could of lived in this place for 50 years to have it bought out from under them for a greedy corporation to make other greedy share holders happy!!
Love it! But I would love a separate room. This would be amazing for a bed and breakfast idea or for a family that has an elder person to care for
It is for rent, per the description. It is a sweet little place, I think that there would need to be some adjustments to be livable full time though; but, as a rental it's perfect.
Very cute & cozy, nice decorator touches. Does the main door open into the bedroom? Beautiful outdoor setting but the creek seems rather close, flooding would be a concern. But I really love it! 🏡

I’m in love with this tiny little home. It’s so beautiful and cozy. If I built a house just like this one to live in full time, there’s only a couple things I’d change. I would absolutely love a small spiral staircase leading to a loft and make that my bedroom. I’d make the kitchen just a little bigger and I’d have more storage throughout. I’d also love a small corner tub and shower. And I’d have to have a washer and dryer. Other than that, I think everything else is perfect. It even looks like God created the beautiful creek just for this house. 💛..God bless!
If I didn't put in a loft, I'd use a murphy bed for this and have a small woodstove for heat. I'd prefer a corner shower over a tub in the bathroom and more counter space in the kitchen. I have a 1905 Chicago Hardware Foundry kitchen table with the original milkglass top and ice cream parlor chairs which I'd use in the home. Sizewise, this is perfect for me.

Absolutely charming. I absolutely love all the decorations and the cottage G look. I love the touches of all the teal. I have a brand new camper that’s done all in teal and even the outside has teal stripes on the out side on the camper. The porch right near the Brook that is just something. Thank you for sharing. I would put the sleeping area where the kitchen is, and kitchen where the sleeping area is. I not a big fan of having the sleeping area near the front door. Imagine if you had winters where you live? The sleeping area would be freezing.

probably $10,000 if she built it herself with an electricians help.

Depends on where it's located and who does the building. I'd go with Amish for sure, no matter.
Even if it costs between 45 and 65 thousand, the taxes and energy would be less than most places. Yes, and it does depend on the location.
@@TheSteinmetzen - I'm deliriously happy with the 2200 sq ft 1895 Vic I bought and restored. Max insulation etc. & the way it's built, outdoor temps have to be high 90's F b4 I even need to turn on a fan. But since I can't afford replacement insurance on this place, I still love to look at tiny houses I might be able to rebuild and live in after any potential disaster. My absolute first choice in that case though would be a simple dome. Not only could I paint nature murals all over the outside, but they're the most resistant to storms or earthquakes and they're cheapest to heat & cool.

I think it is great how everyone imagines how they would customize--people trying to figure out how they could each live in the small space.
Actually the bdrm/lr/kitchenette, was always considered a studio apt back in the 70s, as the least expensive dwelling once you move out if your parent's house.
The appeal is the + of the freedom in a yard...a fantastic remedy also of how easily we can offer peace and happiness to homeless--which has become a long-suffering demographic defined by what they don't own. Imagine a shady neighborhood with a mere lot of day 4 of these groupings near opposite ends on a single street. It would be charming and house 8 residents privately + a toddler or kid, each.

This is very beautiful. However, how does anyone design/build a tiny home without any thought for closets? Makes no sense.
its not so much about the build hete as about shing off how cute and decorative it is as in why not stay here. yep cozy and friendly. but i prefer larger shots of the syructure and how it flows together. a closeup of yet another lampshade or curio not that interesting

Yes, adorable and beautifully produced video. Reality check, though for all the commenters who are romanticizing this for an actual place to live: as decorated, this is a guest cottage, a fabulous AirBnB-not someone’s home. At least not someone who has any kind of life. It’s staged by a fabulous decorator. I lived in a 500 sq ft house for over 15 years (and now 1,000 sf). I called it enforced simplicity. When you live in a small space, there’s no room (or very little) for cutesy things and long photos of cows occupying an otherwise good usable shelf and wall space. Clothes, including basic daily wearables and seasonal, shoes, towels/linens, bills and other paperwork, cleaning supplies need to be stored somewhere; even basic hobbies like reading, birding, cooking, listening to or playing music require allocated space. Not saying you can’t live in a small space like this; of course you can (and glad that more people are), just not as presented here.
I hope some of the whiners upthread read your very helpful comment. They were grousing bc a lot of people commented on how they'd adapt things to suit themselves, for permanent living. I rapped their knuckles for trying to stifle creativity and practical dreams. I myself would need to double the space on both porches so at least one could be enclosed as a sleeping porch and the other to make a 4-seasons 'outdoor' area. Extend the back portion of the house itself at least 3-5' to fit a tub in the bathroom and make room for a big closet and small laundry area plus an upright freezer, etc. Out of season clothing could be stored in a good tight shed along with any tools, vehicles, etc. Anyway, we can live with a lot less space than many of us are spoiled to having. Ask anyone who's ever rented a NYC apartment. A free standing tiny house would seem cavernous! I even knew someone who just rented closet SHELF space in someone else's digs there. That's where she slept. Bathroom privileges included. For 'only' $700 a month.

Based on the fact that I have very different taste than whoever created this nest, I couldn't give it a thumb's up. I'd never put a bed in there. I'd use a couch that converted to a bed and put a closet against the wall. Just on general principle, I'd never dream of doing my Christmas decorating using black as one of the main colors. Again, my taste is a lot different. I loved the kitchen area, though, and the two cozy looking arm chairs. What really counts, though, is having the place decorated in a manner that makes the homeowner glad to be there!
