      Exactly. I thought the films is gonna be average after seeing the trailer. All the genric shots that has nothing to do with story are used in trailer.

      I think it’s a smart move. Setting the bar low for a light movie and let audience do the talking. Can’t backfire..

      @@balajivs6799What are you talking about? Trailer for mid and low range stars need a stellar trailer.
      I would have definitely halved his salary for doing such injustice to such a good moviem

    What a movie man - the underlying "Kari" Mattu Kari casteism is beautifully portrayed and resonated every bit with my childhood too - such a class movie

    A light hearted well acted movie especially female characters were more natural than the male characters.... This movie had touched on casteism, male EGO on silly things (like PARKING movie , this is about some local cricket) and a romance . the screenplay swung between the 3 subjects but kept on swinging and touched at surface ... Director wqs not able to decide till end which one he wanted to stress upon strongly... The romance had veey weak plot and also the ego clash between the males were too childish and immatute .... Here and there villain brings caste indirectly (TSK who is VIJAYTV primary mimicry comedy artist had done a fantastic villain role with no gimmicks ).... The movie is watchable unlike LAAL SALAAM also on cricket EGO between villages and local teams.. A strong story based on one topic either caste or romance with a more tighter screenplay could have taken this movie as classic

    Real Tribute to Vijaykanth Sir. This movie team succeeded in giving the best tribute to him. Attakathi Dinesh nailed with his performance casually whenever this Raja Sir song plays in the background. Perfect Mass elevation and enjoyable moments for the theatrical audiences.

    Isn’t it Chekhov’s gun? What’s the difference?

    • @maheshwaranp3946
      @maheshwaranp3946 3 месяца назад +12

      Chekhov's gun is when you place a certain story element at some point in the story, it will come back in the later part for some dramatic effect. It doesn't necessarily build up. You'll show it once and come back once again later.
      Whereas the bomb theory is something that you establish but it builds the tension scene by scene until it explodes.

    Upper caste lower caste divide good to always show in movie. But movie makers get only fair skinned girls to play the part. These girls are from upper castes invariably. Isn’t that discrimination? They go to extent to import female characters from North India or from kerala. Also, the discrimination between rich and poor also always exists in society.

  • @Emanonsi
    @Emanonsi 3 месяца назад +24

    This is what castism is you can speak but not authoritatively , make movies about caste issues but don't show upper caste as bad people. The moment you compared him with Ranjith , Mari shows you understanding of caste issues. Offcourse the people who give certificate to this kind of movie are mostly upper caste who born in metro cities of India and brought up in foreign countries and doesn't have an clue about real caste issues that still happening in India.

    • @Skanda1111
      @Skanda1111 3 месяца назад +7

      What upper caste are you talking about? Be specific! Every caste has hierarchies. Go to a village and you have "enga alunga" and "unga alunga" when you go from one street to another. How is it an upper class - lower class divide. For all your shortcomings you blame this divide. You blame the upper class because they've historically abused you. But you don't have the same balls to point fingers at Muslims or Christians who have had a huge hand in keeping the impoverished - impoverished. Everyone has a way to express themselves. If someone is still living their lives feeling like a victim, there are only two reasons,
      1. They're comfortable playing the victim and very used to the govt' freebies.
      2. They just don't want to work hard.
      People who have worked hard have invariably come up in life irrespective of their background.
      Indha maavu romba arachachu. Podhum.

      I guess you meant "freebies" as reservation. Brother its not freebies, it was their right to have in first place which had been taken from them over centuries. Reservation is a different and big topic. Even I was like you and got educated by my friends. I'd request you to go through about what reservation is and still if you are not convinced after that we'll have a debate. @@Skanda1111
