    Love the look. Love the idea. One issue for me is it ejects from the rear to... where the gun is butted up against the shoulder.. I could see a jamming problem because of that, but that's just nit picking.

    Great US made shotgun from Keltec.
    I hope the cuts/holes in the tubes are optional, dirt may go inside the tubes.
    How do you categorize this shotgun since it's holding 7 rounds each cylinder? 7+7+1 rounds or 14+1 rounds? I'm curious since I live in one of the states that has some firearm restrictions? Thanks

    WOW a company that LISTENS! You guys created a truly innovative product worth looking into!
    1) I agree with the statement below for a more accessible tube switch. Please consider keeping the current tube switch location and adding a secondary more forward mounted one, perhaps to save cost as an extension of the current switch
    2) I noticed that spent shells are ejected downward directly into your path...in stressful situations this could cause you to slip on a shell
    3) Side rails

    @TIRESIDE 13 лет назад

    @PooPoo2U Thank You, but they don't make any extra money for including the ksg in their line up. Kel Tec may see increased demand that may bring extra money. But IW didn't get any rewards from keltec. Not to mention the first and only time COD has gotten permission to use name brand guns in the game is with Remington in mw3

    @MrBonez1092
    Im confused, isn't 26" longer. I forgot the specs on the ksg but if so are you looking for tighter groupings? Also what is the spin drift on a slug at higher/lower velocity (depending on load). Is the rifling the same standard or is there a decrease. Slugs are not known to be balanced well and at a higher rate of spin at either velocity got me kind of wondering what the impact would be. Id think more devastating blow but decreased accuracy. But im no expert?

    CHADDERICK... THE MAN!!!! Question... What type of Federal 12 Gauge shot shells were you using in the shooting portion at the end which appeared to be giving you your full 7 round capacity per tube(ya know how some 2 3/4" 00, which I'm assuming is what u were using?,shells are almost as long as friggin 3" shells). Stocking up on my 12 Gauge shell's, & while outta my 12 gauges' they all pattern very well, but SOME are cutting my capacity by 1,(wanna buy bulk knowing it'll gimme my 7+1, not 6+1)

    I stumbled on this vid while enjoying gear reviews of a guy who refrains from indulgences, and I have to say I'm surprised. To see an individual representing a company willing to sit down to the internet audience and point out the changes that have appeared on a product due to user input pretty much blew my mind. Good work Chad, good work Kel-Tec. Regardless of what anyone's opinions on the actual product are, this is the first interaction I've seen like this that's this transparent.

    Awesome looking shotgun. I cant wait to get my hands on one. A couple improvements I would like to see would be the option to change from manual to auto tube switching. I still think the tube switch looks like its in an akward position but I dont know how it feels. Also instead of leaving those open holes in the mag tube, why not put a larger, clear polymer window closer to the end similar to a pmag with a flashlight rechargeable night sight green follower for easy visiblity day and night?

    what broke on the run w/ nutnfancy? i can't seem to find it on his vids. is that part going to be changed? i would like to pick one of these up, but not if it's going to fall apart on me in less than 100 rounds. i own a 590, and i have ran 375 rounds through it so far without fail, and i am working on putting more through it. ya this looks and sounds neat, BUT, i'd much rather have something i can rely on, again and again.

    Chad, we all appreciate the time you put in at Keltec to help refine each keltec product to serve your consumer. I also appreciate your input in the Nutnfancy Project. I was hoping you might convince Nutn to do a review of Keltec's Sub2000. It looks like a great backpacking carbine, but I have no hands on experience with one. Also, will Keltec make any of these compatible with mags for the Ruger SR9?

    Would a clear covering of the cuts offer better reliability? Some friends and I enjoy going to a creek bed and shooting targets in a lot of dirt, and it seems to me that those cuts may be more hassle than they are worth. Interested to see the next stage in development!

    But if the KSG is set up to empty one chamber in one side first then the other when both is selected can a model be made to accomodate the average big game hunter? Or be able to upgrade the existing model to function both ways? Sorry for the long message but you can see i'm really interested.

    Awesome gun, I followed it all since the news blowed up on ar15.com.
    A few questions:
    -how do you check for a hot chamber? do you have to swing the rifle upside down?
    -Why didn't you make a semiauto version?
    -has any importer from Europe contacted you already?
    -Are you planning on giving one of them puppies to Hickock45 for evaulation?

    @BASEate9 12 лет назад

    I bet you could incorporate a magazine in conjunction with the dual tube design. The mag would simply begin extraction when the tubes and chamber are empty, feeding the next round straight into the chamber. Empty rounds could be ejected out of the side but I'm sure this would change the whole internal design.

  • @CorvairScott
    @CorvairScott 11 лет назад +1

    You guys need to make this thing auto switch between mag tubes and have manual selection as well. In a firefight, the need for switching tubes will be forgotten. Some guys might think it's empty when they have another loaded tube> But this is a real winner! You need bayonet mounts. Our military should switch to these. Great idea!

    Any discounts for Florida residents??? Please?!
    One serious question not sure if this is the place for it but, what was the thinking behind having a 3" chamber yet the action not cycling them into the chamber? Should I just wait for a future model that might cycle mag loads?...
    This seems odd...

    Those cuts arent in the barrel, they are in the shell tubes and one end of the shell tube is open anyways. So I dont see it as a negative in that sense.

    Are the Kel-Tec safety glasses going to be as hard to get as any of there products other than the small 9mm and 380 Kel-tec pistols. Will there be an indefinite waiting list for them also like the PMR? Not that I want a PMR being an owner of a five-seven and also hating the mag release on it, just saying. I sure would love a KSG but I am not gonna wait till hell freezes over to receive it though.

    Any chance of adding some holes to the buttstock to aid in using a tubular speed loader? On most pumps the trigger group would get in the way but that's not an issue here. Maybe some other obstruction as I have not seen one in person.
    Current speed loader designs may not work in this app butt I'm should you could come up with something and add it to the accessories line.
    Think about it, it word make for some sick fast and RELIABLE speed reloads

    I was actually looking to get a Benelli SA-20 Tactical but the Keltec is awesome, If the KSG went semi-auto I think i'd be crying tears of joy after shooting it. One question, if you set the magazine feed lever to the center will it alternate the shots fired between magazines? For instance when your hunting; can you set slugs in one mag then buckshot in the other? Usually when your hunting you want to shoot 1 slug, and if necessary follow up with one buckshot.

    I love the review, very informative. Best shotgun I know of. It's on my list for sure. The only thing I can think of (being a shtf, um "fan") is that for law enforcement and extreme home defense purposes it would be INCREDIBLE if you could change tubes or "ammo types" on the fly. This is not a criticism by any means, you guys have accomplished a technically superior feet here. The on-the-fly option, however, may make this shotgun the actual worldwide benchmark of a "perfect" shotgun.

  • @BoopSnoot

    Is there still time for an enhancement where the firing selector could be left for left tube/right for right, but center to expend both tubes without the operator having to manually switch?

  • @ConcealedCarrier
    @ConcealedCarrier 13 лет назад

    Suggestion: It might be a good idea to look into a new/different kind of magazine follower that would switch over the tube selector on the last round for you. If it had a tooth that didn't get in the way of the rounds it could punch the switch over when the last round is racked into the chamber.
    Just an idea.

    Great updates but i was wondering have you considered putting an AR style saftey selector on this. Also maybe adding an aftermarket stock and extended barrel to the pmr-30 line maybe like the one you guys already designed that holds 3 spare mags, that could be an awsome option for a survival style rifle to rival the henry design. Just my .02

    Thank you Kel Tec for thinking outside of the box and taking chances with bringing such revolutionary firearms to the market. Y'all are true visionaries and in an industry full of copy cat guns and tired designs, Kel Tech really stands in front of the crowd. I just wish that your production would meet demand because I can't find a PMR30 or RFB anywhere. @Plur307 I understand that, I was pointing out that I would like a selector position to where I can either manually choose which side to use (in cases where I'm using different types of ammo), but also have an option so that it will expend all rounds without the operator having to manually switch.
    Another option would be to just have the firearm automatically switch to the right chamber when the left is depleted even when set to left.

    Mossberg has an overhand chainsaw grip version of their 500 (which is epic). Think you guys would do the same since you also have a rail on the pump handle? Or offer it as an accessory? one concern that i hope does not end up a major issue is the ejection method. It just looked like the shells were hitting your shirt a little much in this video. also consider this; if this were to be fired around a corner, your forearm would end up underneath the ejector and your arm would be hit repeatedly by the shells. super awesome gun and great reviews. yes i saw the nutnfancy interview of you too :) this gun has blown my mind!

    I have a suggestion on the safety on the KSG. Would it be possible to change the safety to the safety you use on the RFB/PMR30. As it would be beneficial to the end user as it would have commonality with your other weapon systems. On a side note why did the PF9 not use a heel mag release. I heel mag release would not cause problems with accidental mag drops as the current design has. Thank you for your time and have a fine Navy day

    My question is on the sub 2000, I see everybody use a spring hinge to add a sight. Why dont they get a rail guard and attach a 45 degree or slightly less to the rail to allow the closure of the gun while maintaining a positive lockdown of a scope? When you sight it in just allow distance between barrel and sightline for zero. Sounds pretty easy what do you think?

    can the ksg be available to Hawaii. Love to have one! Although I think our limit of rounds in feed tube/tubes is 10. Maybe both feed tubes could be plugged to allow only five per chamber. Any progress or concerns from other on this issue? Actually could be made about 5.5-6" shorter if that were the case but thats a little asking too much "DARN". Also would probably make it illegal and non calif. approved what do you think?

    The saiga doesnt need a 12 round stick or a drum to make it "tactically worth carrying". If anything, they are a detriment. A couple spare 5-7 round mags is all thats needed, and those are no more cumbersome to carry than loose shells.

    I didn't expect any less from Kel Tec!! Always on top to improve any product they make and I can't say that for other companies!! I and my family own quite a few Kel Tec products and have had nothing but outstanding products and costumer service with Kel Tec. Only question I have, are you hiring for CNC machinist with 12 years experience? I'd be proud to work for this company anytime!!!

    I believe you said it will come out late this year. I feel a Christmas gift coming for me. 15 rounds of 12 gauge is outstanding in a shortened length shotgun.

    Good, good, and great idea on the semi auto. I guess keeping it 7+7+1 on its length is a better idea anyway, i'm sure the tax stamp alone is something people would be discouraged by. But if rifle was manufactured shorter from the get go wouldn't it be pre-licensed as one and not require a tax stamp, or do we need to get one due to different gun laws in different states?

    Gotta scale up. I've only ever seen one Kel-Tec product available for purchase.

    hey chad, are these still shipping out this winter ? my gun shop says the ksg has been delayed as the a.t.f. is trying to classify it as a destructive device. is there any truth to this? i want one as soon as you start shipping them !!!

    You said it had a rifled barrel; so wouldn't this either- throw off the accuracy using shot and/or tear up the rifling after continued shot use?

    How do you feel playing with KSG-12 in MW3? Or do you play it at all?

    Such a shame it isn't just a tad longer.
    In New Zealand anything under 762mm(30") is considered as a pistol and requires a special category of license.
    And Semi auto weapons have a shitty mag capacity limit(max 7 centerfire) or else also need a special category license.
    Being a manual action there is no mag cap, I was going to try track one down!
    Any way to increase this length? Longer barrel and extended magazines?
    Cheers,
    Sean.

    Kel-Tec: Who makes the charging handle grip you are using when you fire at the end of the video?
