Good point. Guess there are i.e. yakuzza bulluys out there who would eat the best of mma fighters for breakfast. I wouldn't like to fight any of them nor any from the list. Some mma fighters perhaps, also i don't claim that i would win, but loosing on high level can also be fun, as long as it is under controlled conditions and they are just out to beat you, not to hurt you. A little pain makes you feel alife i'd say. But generally i am glad if i don't HAVE to fight anyone. I am beyond that age now ;)
Just remember that MMA has RULES ... fighting for your LIFE does NOT have Rules! Also remember that Movie fight scenes -- no matter HOW amazing some of the movements are -- are Scripted and choreographed... Many of the moves in a Movie fight scene could Very Likely KILL the opponent/actor/stunt person... In fact, watch some of the 'out-takes' after Jackie Chan Movies and see how even HE gets hurt when doing his Own Stunts and fight scenes... I absolutely would Never want to face Any of these Actors in a REAL fight for my life! But neither would I want to face a good MMA fighter in a street situation where there is no referee or 'tapping out' ... Many years ago, shortly after departing Active Duty in the USMC, I competed in Karate for a while. Interestingly, it was the period when it went from 'NO Contact' thru 'Light Contact w/ no head contact' right on to FULL Contact... MANY of the 'No contact' fighters fell to the wayside when the hits actually Landed with FORCE! {And I saw many news reports where "Black Belts" got the Crap beat out of them in a bar fight because it was in their training to Stop fractions of an inch AWAY from the target... Of course, in the Marines we were ALWAYS trained at Full Contact! (smile)
Iko uwais(the raid series) is a real martial arts practitioner, master and competitor not only an actor.. his breakthrough is from Merantau movie where he is known as an actor.. i can say if he is given a chance by the world he can be like the next bruce lee.. the director gareth evans of Merantau and The Raid trilogy discovered him while filming a documentary about martial arts in a training yard where Iko was training and found he had good charisma and camera presence

What you mean? The frame rate is still the same 24fps. Very few movies and sport events are shot at 48fps. It is about human perception, we have trouble to see a movement that last less than 1/10 of a second.

JohnWTolbert what he taught kimbo had nothing to do with being speedy nor has shown him to have fast hands. He was teaching him an effective form against your oponent's perception, that even at slower speed he was able to hit kimbo's hand while he miss on full speed with an average form. I think you did not understand it what that lesson was about.
Donnie is better defensively and more knowledgeable. Jet is pure offense. Donnie comes from deep martial arts background, his mother was world class martial artis, especially in Taichi. Her teacher's background came from legendary martial arts families. A lot of martial arts were lost during the war. Donnie had more complete mechanical knowledge than Jet. Jet had natural talent, he has no family martial arts background. Jackie is same. Jackie were raised in drama club, which do incorporate some basic martial arts principles. His fighting skills are more acting than real skills, unlike Jet and Donnie, both were national martial arts champions in China. Note Donnie and Jet were from the same academy in Beijing.

Granted those are the fast in Film, and I am sure any one of them could hit me about 20X, before I am able to punch just once, but I have heard of legendary fighters, both in China and Korea, that are even faster and deadlier, and they will never be known....Their choice.

Good point. Guess there are i.e. yakuzza bulluys out there who would eat the best of mma fighters for breakfast. I wouldn't like to fight any of them nor any from the list. Some mma fighters perhaps, also i don't claim that i would win, but loosing on high level can also be fun, as long as it is under controlled conditions and they are just out to beat you, not to hurt you. A little pain makes you feel alife i'd say. But generally i am glad if i don't HAVE to fight anyone. I am beyond that age now ;)
Just remember that MMA has RULES ... fighting for your LIFE does NOT have Rules!
Also remember that Movie fight scenes -- no matter HOW amazing some of the movements are -- are Scripted and choreographed... Many of the moves in a Movie fight scene could Very Likely KILL the opponent/actor/stunt person... In fact, watch some of the 'out-takes' after Jackie Chan Movies and see how even HE gets hurt when doing his Own Stunts and fight scenes...
I absolutely would Never want to face Any of these Actors in a REAL fight for my life! But neither would I want to face a good MMA fighter in a street situation where there is no referee or 'tapping out' ...
Many years ago, shortly after departing Active Duty in the USMC, I competed in Karate for a while.
Interestingly, it was the period when it went from 'NO Contact' thru 'Light Contact w/ no head contact' right on to FULL Contact... MANY of the 'No contact' fighters fell to the wayside when the hits actually Landed with FORCE! {And I saw many news reports where "Black Belts" got the Crap beat out of them in a bar fight because it was in their training to Stop fractions of an inch AWAY from the target...
Of course, in the Marines we were ALWAYS trained at Full Contact! (smile)

Iko uwais(the raid series) is a real martial arts practitioner, master and competitor not only an actor.. his breakthrough is from Merantau movie where he is known as an actor.. i can say if he is given a chance by the world he can be like the next bruce lee.. the director gareth evans of Merantau and The Raid trilogy discovered him while filming a documentary about martial arts in a training yard where Iko was training and found he had good charisma and camera presence

I've always loved Martial Arts and have trained off and on for the past 30 years. I've noticed what appears to be a smear campaign against it in mainstream media. Anybody else see this? It's like they try to make it seem silly or something.

By the time it got to the top 3 I was like, it's going to be Jet Li, Donnie Yen and Bruce Lee because all the others have already been mentioned. And it was. Wow. Take my like and sub!

What you mean? The frame rate is still the same 24fps. Very few movies and sport events are shot at 48fps. It is about human perception, we have trouble to see a movement that last less than 1/10 of a second.

JohnWTolbert what he taught kimbo had nothing to do with being speedy nor has shown him to have fast hands. He was teaching him an effective form against your oponent's perception, that even at slower speed he was able to hit kimbo's hand while he miss on full speed with an average form. I think you did not understand it what that lesson was about.

Donnie is better defensively and more knowledgeable. Jet is pure offense. Donnie comes from deep martial arts background, his mother was world class martial artis, especially in Taichi. Her teacher's background came from legendary martial arts families. A lot of martial arts were lost during the war. Donnie had more complete mechanical knowledge than Jet. Jet had natural talent, he has no family martial arts background. Jackie is same. Jackie were raised in drama club, which do incorporate some basic martial arts principles. His fighting skills are more acting than real skills, unlike Jet and Donnie, both were national martial arts champions in China. Note Donnie and Jet were from the same academy in Beijing.
