Agree. But don't forget the "pull factor". The capitalist system extracts the brightest Africans from their homelands - with the bonus that all the costs of raising these African migrants are born by the host nations.

      Blair Robert
I think hooligan running battles in towns and cities across the uk for two decades is pretty extreme.
The murder rate in Glasgow was pretty grim too.
Plus this whole London thing is fuelled by social media beef and high profile music, which really amps up the tension.
As far as Somalis are concerned, the roots of this issue is from way before they arrived.
I don’t think it’s about “blaming” any particular group.
It’s like a virus/drug...it’s very intoxicating, very addictive and very contagious for certain young people.
I’m not pretending I have all the answers, but somehow it’s more about getting to the root of the disease than getting rid of specific groups.
There’s a whole generation (or two) that have grown up with no real home structure. No sense of hierarchy or discipline or obligation to anyone or anything except their own basic instincts. Boys who become “men” much too quickly.
Plus there are many kids who are creative and intelligent inside but feel they have to act like a “G” so that no one will step on them.
This thing is close to my heart. My own son at 17 was dealing, carrying a blade and pretty soon on his way to prison or worse.
I had been working abroad a while and it slipped by me.
Thank God I had the means to take him out of his postcode and to S.America for a while and he slowly, with love and attention came out of his shell. He now has two beautiful daughters and a great wife and works hard for his money.

@Mellivora Capensis Well, to quote another woman 370 years ago "And if he be a sot or a drunkard, what then?" Or, indeed, a gangster. In Glasgow, the cultures and identiity of the gangs is handed down generation to generation. The great- grandfathers of today's gangs were in the same gangs in their time. All that's new is that the active identity and culture is sometimes now passed to daughters as well as sons.

Plus most come from single parent homes, a statistic that is a constant with criminality the world over, it's not the only determining factor but it is a massively important one hence this continual hand wringing about youth clubs, and the need for male role models to stop these kids going astray, yet guess what if their dads were around, we wouldn't need local authorities to play proxy fathers.

There’s no waste In nature My comment has nothing to do with colour.I saw a discussion recently about knife crime in London where it was stated that 80% of the stabbings are from Somali youths in gangs, that is not in my book a few. They also discussed the fact that they were mainly lads from single parent families. If they were white and from Iceland, I would still be making the same comment. We have to get to the root of the problem to solve it and with such a large common denominator, we have to ask why this particular group. On the discussion with concerned "experts" , they were interviewing parents of young lads who were on the verge of becoming involved in gangs who had sent their sons back to Africa because they considered they were safer there than in the UK. Surely that is not right, we should be able to deal with this here, these kids need to feel safe here and not have to be exiled to be safe.

Look at the panels faces and know none of them can do anything.
I have stopped muggings many times. In Whitechapel, in Hackney and in Clissold park per chance.
About 5 weeks ago i stopped a mugging in a little park opposite hackney farm.
2 chaps were standing on a bench, 2 bigger chaps were threatening them. As i approached i said 'whats going on boys?'
Immediately the muggers both turned to me. The white mugger said ' just keep steppin bro' the black mugger put his hand in his pocket and said 'what are you stopping for?'
I put my hand in my pocket. The 2 victims thought to themselves we better get out of here and they did.
It turned out ok i suppose.
I rang the police as the muggers left the scene and i was concerned they were gonna catch up with the victims. They were not very useful.
The ex policeman who claims that a more violent dealer takes the place of one whos been arrested is rubbish.
Guys are in gangs. Gangs have a phone only used for dealing. If one guy in a gang disappears someone else automatically takes over. Sometimes gangs battle for these drug phones. Million nittys a day will ring the phone.
Gangs are not just black or white or Turkish or Moroccan or English or French etc. Its a mix of mans from a certain area who have similar lives.
I dont get paid for stopping muggers and i dont get paid to know what the crack is. Those who do should be ashamed of themselves.

I wonder how long before you begin to get snowballing white flight in areas like this. It is one thing to live in those areas when you are in your twenties and childless, quite a different kettle of fish when you are twenty years older with kids and skin in the game. Some of my friends in those areas have told me they are thinking of bailing out because of their children being robbed at knife point. Their political correctness is going out the window now that it is their own kids lives are on the line. Some people have to learn the hard way.
