Lake Alma State Park - Our New Favorite?? May 2022 - Episode 20

- Last minute decision to visit Lake Alma State Park Tuesday through Friday,- May 10-13, 2022, after seeing the beautiful weather forecast for that week! As weekday campers, we have found that good sites are often readily available at many Ohio State Parks, without having to book 6 months in advance. Since we always try to find "just the right site" to meet our preferences, we did book everything in advance in 2021, but this year we have left some weeks open in hopes of avoiding some cold and rainy weeks of camping.
So with temperatures forecasted in the 80's for the first time after a very cold winter and spring, we wanted to find a campground with a lake that might be warm enough to finally go kayaking again! We figured the water would be warmer somewhere further south with a relatively small lake, and we wanted to try a state park that we had not yet been to, in our quest to camp at every Ohio SP. So we decided to try Lake Alma, without knowing a whole lot about it, but it turned out to be a good decision!

Love lake elma, very clean beach area,fishing area,s all around lake ...planning to do little camping for few days with my son my best friend, and grandsons... do some out doors cooking on a grill,making memories and enjoying ourselves
Great video. My daughter and I just bought a house there in Alma. We are Leaving California after 40 years. We can't wait to get out of here and put our feet in the dirt. This video was helpful to me because Lake Alma will probably become our home away from home. Loves your guitar performance:). You kids keep having fun and making videos!

Hello! The details on all sites, including tent sites, are on the www.ReserveOhio.com website. Choose the park, enter any dates, select camping, and filter to tents. You could also join the FaceBook group “Ohio State Campgrounds and Sites” and search for the park you want to camp at and see if anyone has posted about tent sites, or just post a question on that group page and I’m sure you’ll get some responses.
