- You have to pay your visa overstay fee at the immigration office in the airports. If you don't pay, you will get more entry ban. I explain the some rules about overstay and entry ban regulation in Turkey. I show where and how you can pay your visa overstay fee in Turkey.

My man went through the visa violation office today. He had overstay almost 2 years. We asked if it could be paid on the way back at the entrance of the country, they said it would be harder and if he decides to do so, the ban would be 2 years but if he pays the ban would be 1 year. The amount we paid was 15,800tl(455$) They accept only in cash and only in turkish lira. They have these offices at the both ends on the airport , we were at the one at “A”. You take a ticket from a machine for the queue and wait for your turn but we were pretty much the next person at the desk so we didn’t wait at all. Since we are a family and İ have a work permit, they said that after paying the fine he can get into the country with the family reunion visa. I hope that was helpful to someone cus it was really difficult to find any information about this online.
To anyone interested: I have overstayed for about a month + few days. I paid 5900 TL. I am from Europe. And I have previously overstayed (that time by mistake, not private reasons) for 2 days, back then Paid 1300 but only when I got back to Turkey - they let me out without paying first. I know I probably got scammed, but one of my friend says I paid more since I overstayed twice already so who knows. Not a fun situation but well, I was a bit afraid to fight for a ban from the country and didn't wanna make myself more trouble...

Hello Sir @@johnewalsh4991 - yes once they give you receipt to pay tell them you don't have enough and see what they say. You should be offered a ban.

I overstayed about a month and the fine was over 200 US dollars but it depends on your nationality and how long you overstayed@@bless001_
I am overstay 2 days and paid 1450TL at ankara airport. At that time dollar rate was 1$= 11 tl
All depends on officer who is calculating fine, nothing is mentioned on the wall.
They should mention clear policy how much they charge for overstay.
All Information should b in mention clearly in different languages.

There are visa violation centers at some land borders. For example, a client found the visa violation office in the border between Greece and Turkey and paid the penalty

Because I heard many African brothers complaining that the went their willing to pay but the officers are not cooperating. Rather the prepare to ban them instead of collecting the over stay payment and follow the due process as the system orders. Please need your clarification
There is visa violation center at IST airport. A client of mine paid her overstay fees there last saturday. Maybe, it is better to go there with a Turkish speaking lawyer or advisor.

They might ban you for 5 years to enter turkey.
My friend holding a british passport has overstay when he left Turkey last week to USA. The penalty is $1400 and he has not paid yet as he was rushing and not enough cash. He tried to pay at turkey consulate in New York but they said he cannot pay there. Now he is malaysia and we try doing it at the embassy here but also cannot pay. Where can he settle this penalty before he can enter turkey again because his mother is very sick there and needs someone to take care. Please advise thank you
Maybe he can pay when he comes to istanbul airport. It is better he confirms it with the turkish embassy. I am not sure

hello, hope all is well. would like to ask, im Jordanian came to Türkiye for 2 months, then i left for a month then came back , now i am overstay since JAN 2023, if i paid the overstay do i get a ban? or i can come back after 3 or 4 weeks from leaving Türkiye after paying ?
If you overstay is more than 3 months, they usually give entry ban.

You need your flight ticket in other to pay at the airport,so you can’t pay in advance
You can pay on date of departure after getting boarding pass.

@@AD-oh3vm it is hard to answer that. İt was not when I was there 2 days ago but İt might be crowded. İt is better to be prepared, so come to airport more earlier than usual.
Okey! For me, it went pretty quickly and I was, next to another 2, the only ones there. For 2 months overstay, I payed around 50€ (the type of passport plays a role here). Also, in my case, they only accepted lira in cash. Maybe this info will be helpful to someone.

Entry ban can be renewed if you apply for special visa types (for examply family visa or business visa)

Most of the embassies don't have a service for paying the overstay fee. I strongly recommend paying it at the airport.

Violation between 3 months and 6 months: 1 month entry ban
Violation between 6 months and 1 year: 3 months entry ban
1 year - 2 years violation : 1 year entry ban
2 years - 3 years violation : 2 years entry ban
Violation for more than 3 years : 5 years of entry ban
And If I don't pay fine? Will the year ban changes ?

Hello, the overstay penalty is calculated at the visa violation center at the airport. Bring Turkish Lira cash with you to make payment. I don't know exact amount of penalty.

In Turkish airport, there are 2 securities. One in the main entrance of the airport and one in the checkin counter. The office of immigration is after the 1st security and before the check-in

Sallaam, i have an important question. I’ve US passport and I overstayed for 2 months so i paid the fees before i left and told there’s no ban on you. Then i got a new visa few days after leaving and went back to the border they didn’t let me get in even though i have a valid visa and they asked where’s the receipt because it doesn’t show that i paid. I went to the consulate and called another one in US and they told me you need the receipt. Do you know how i can get it!??
Maybe you can get it from the office where you made the payment.

Pay you overstay fee at the border.
Usually, they dont give entry ban to foreigners who didnt overstay more than 3 months.

I have overstayed in Turkey for 2 month 2021. And I didn’t pay the fine. They told me you can’t come back to the country until feb 2022. I have applied tourist visa May 2023 but they rejected me. And I don’t know the reason. Do I reapply? Or what can I do?
It is better you go to consulate to pay the overstay fee and ask them if your rejection is related with overstay.

Bro it is better to go to the airport early and visit the Visa Violation Center directly. In my knowledge, if you go there voluntarily, they dont arrest if you dont have a criminal record.

The visa violation office at SAW is open. It is on the left part of the terminal. The immigration office there calculates the fee. It is apprx $50-80 per month of overstay

You sum all the days you stay in Turkey. Then, you substract the allowed duration from that total number. The result is your overstay.
The payment depends on the country, not on occupation.

Hello, in 2016 i was in turkey in2016 and when i was leaving turkey at airport officer said i was banned for 5 years since i did not pay the fine , the ban has been expired since it has been aleardy 5 years , i have a question, do i need to pay fine at the airport when im going to turkey to visit again ?
Normally, the penalty fees get cancelled after 5 years, however, the 5-year period starts in the beginning of next year. It is better to keep some money with your in case they ask for the payment.

They will take you to detention center for deportation procedures. It is not ok to be in illegal stay in Turkey.

With 7 months of overstay, you will probably get entry ban even if you pay the penalty. So, the border might not allow you to re-enter in the same day. You will need to pay until your entry ban period is over.

My ikamet expired in August and i came back to turkey on a visa. I am a student. My visa was valid till december 25.
I applied for ikamet but because of address problems I couldn’t get it then i applied again with new address, then i was told my visa expired.

Hello, in that case, you need to exit&re-enter turkey to be able to apply for residence permit again. You can't make residence permit application if your visa expired.

If you can get rejection paper from the immigration office with signature and stamp; they might not include the duration between visa expiration and residence permit rejection for overstay.

You need to go to the Turkish embassy in your country to check your entry ban status.
Hello, I am an Indonesian national with an exempted visa for 30 days. I booked a flight yesterday, I will be arriving in turkey on 11 July 2023 and returning on 10 August 2023. I think I miscalculated and I counted 31 days if the day I arrive counts as the first of visa day. Is this an overstay and what can I do about it? rescheduling is just way too costly for me.
Hey Theo, it is better not to make overstay. However, overstay for a few days won't be a big problem. Just make sure you pay the penalty before leaving Turkey.

Indonesians are already exempt from visa. It won't affect you much.

I read on some website that the fine is the first month is $50 then additional $10 each months and will get banned for about 1 month, is that true? because i planned leaving and will back to Turkey in another months is that possible?
Please check the fees at the visa violation center. The officer calculates the fee. It might be more than that.

In Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport, the immigration office is before the passport check. It might be different in other airports. When you ask for "Göç İdaresi", the security there will guide you.

You can contact the embassy by email or by phone. Some embassies accept the penalty payment. Some of them ask you to go to the turkish border for the payment.

If you overstayed more than 3 months after your visa duration, you will get entry ban regardless of paying your overstay penalty.
I went to visa violation to pay for overstay but the officer just gave me a one year ban he didn't even ask me to pay which I wanted,but the way he send me away from there I wasn't comfortable ,my question this ban on my passport is it going to affect my entry to other countries? please give me feedback.
The entry ban decision on Turkey doesn't affect your entry to other countries. It is only for Turkey.

Did you pay fine at the airport?
If you paid the penalty and if you don't have entry ban and if you waited 3 months abroad; then you can re-enter turkey.

Thanks for finding the video useful. Overstay fee is aprx 80USD per month. It depends on many factors. The final amount is calculated at the visa violation center.

You need to call the Turkish Embassy in your country.
If you are in Turkey, you can also call 157 Immigration Call Center.

The visa violation office is located inside the airport. The border police can take you there if you have to do an operation there.

Thanks for finding the video useful. Overstay fee is aprx 80USD per month. It depends on many factors. The final amount is calculated at the visa violation center.

Overstay fine is around $50 per month. Even if you pay, you will get entry ban due to your long overstay (overstay more than 3 months gets entry ban). If you don't pay, your entry ban will be much longer.

At the border visa violation center, they will give you entry ban due to your long overstay, even if you pay the overstay fine. After that entry ban period is over, you can apply for new visa.
It will be a negative point for your visa application because you overstayed for around 3 years. However, if you application is strong, you might get visa and come back to Turkey to apply for residence permit.

I’m exempt from a visa, I’m from Morocco so I can go to Turkey visa free. I overstayed about 1 month. I went to the counter and they gave me a contract and told me I can pay it within 3 months. I asked for a copy of the contract and asked him where I can pay but he didn’t really give me an answer. I went back to Morocco, it’s been 6 months now and I would like to travel soon. I know every additional month you don’t pay is about 10$ which is fine. But how or where can I pay it before my trip? Will I have to post pone my trip that I want to take in a week? Can I just fly to Istanbul and pay it there on arrival?

I would advise you to go to the Consulate of Turkey in Morocco first and pay the penalty there.
@@BurakUnal1 oh okay, thank you. The only problem is you cant enter the consulate here without an appointment. And the only appointment you apply for is a Visa Application. However, I’m visa exempt for tourism purposes. The only number that answer is the call center in Ankara. I sent an email to the embassy and they said I can can go to Turkey if I’m not restricted, but they can’t tell me if I’m restricted or not? I’m just confused. I’ll just book a ticket and find out hahaha wish me luck.

Hie Burak, after overstaying in Turkey, if I pay my fine will I be allowed to fly to another country which is not my country directly from Turkey. I am from Africa,but I want to fly from Turkey to a different country where I have a work permit. Or will I be told to fly to my home country first after paying the fine?
If you have permission and relevant visa to enter another country, you can fly there. There is no obligation to be sent to your original country after overstay.

Normally, they put normal exit stamp if all overstay fees are paid.

What is this mean I came on touristic visas and bought property and filed for Trc to Goc Idaresi before 12 days of visa going to expire, but Immigration office gave me appointment of 1st November even though I sent my visa copy so they knew when my visa going to expire but my Lawer said you can stay until your result it’s legal you just keep your application with you but as results come Goc Idaresi said you have to exit so I said give me exit pass they gave me exit pass but even tough I had paid Fine of Lira 8035. When you make application before your visa expires, it gives you the right to stay in Turkey until your evaluation result for residence permit positive. If you leave before your residence permit evaluation is done, you will need to pay overstay penalty at the immigration office. What is the result of your residence permit? And did you leave before the evaluation? Didn't your lawyer inform you that it is better to stay in Turkey until the evaluation of residency is completed by immigration office?

Normally, you can pay at the nearest Turkish embassy too. However, some embassies don't have cash counter to accept these payments. It is better you contact the Turkish Embassy that you are planning to make the payment.

It depends on the border police, sometimes, they dont check the return ticket. Still, it is better for you to reserve a return ticket for 8 days later and show it in case they ask for it.

Hello Burak, i have two questions :
- if someone over stay for 7 days ,pay the panelty and after 3 months he has to apply for visit or student visa from his home country to re-enter turkiye. Will there be an issue to get these visas?
- if lawyer appeal and file a case in court over rejection of short term residence permit with in 10 days ,will this allow someone to stay in turkiye legally untill court's decision?

- As long as the student pays the penalty and doesnt have entry ban, he can apply for a new visa to re-enter turkey
- Appealing to rejection doesnt give legal right to stay in turkey until decision is made. After decision is positive, that person can start living in turkey legally.

When you go to the airport, ask the security for "Göç İdaresi Vize İhlal Birimi".
Go there 1-2 hours earlier than usual. There might be queue. Also, it is better to go with cash in case the credit card POS machine is not available.

My friend left Turkey on 4th January 2022 and because he did not pay at the airport they said he will be banned until 2024 January. Now we wonder if it is possible to pay and come back before 2024?

I remember going to that area in Istanbul airport after overstaying my visa. I unknowingly overstay my visa as firstime visa holder. I thought the duration of stay dont really matter but the validity which is 30 days. So basically, I overstayed for 22 day, just knew that I overstayed at the immigration counter. I paid the fine by cash.. I love Turkey and I really wished I can go back, there are still a lot of places i have not visited. If I apply again and explain properly the reason for overstay, can I still be granted?

As long as you pay the overstay fee and you dont have entry ban, you don't need to worry. Still, when you make new visa application, show your financial statements and make the application as strong as possible.

If you paid the penalty and didn't overstay more than 3 months, I don't think they put entry ban.
