People (some people) can only absorb a limited number of styles and artists - Young wasn't "pretty," he wasn't "fancy" - he was the Tower of Babel of Rock musicians - the Real Deal - with endless power, songs, and styles, and without the ego to match his gigantic footprint as a songwriter, and an (IMHO) under-rated electric guitar player and all-genre lyricist. There were so many groups lost in that time, that were so good, but it was like being lost in a nuclear explosion of incredible experimental musical fusion: far-Eastern beats introduced into Rock by people like George Harrison (the Sitar in Rock! - not the first, but the most studied and thorough), folk-rock, classical rock (like "Beck's Bolero") - did your dad introduce you to Jeff Beck?
