Looking at most of this stuff he must have spent most of his 22 years hanging around outside the QM’s! In my day we had a name for them. My De-kit in 1994 consisted of handing in No2 Dress, Arctic parka (Mine got lost) Helmet and SR6, 1 combat suit and service dress hat, All the rest that I bothered to take was taken straight to the skip. My a QM was a mate and he put it that anything worn next to the body was not required, most specialist kit was out of date anyway and why fill his skip when mine could be flogged on the next car boot sale. He didnt actually get round to doing the various uniforms that were issued like No1 dress, No2dress No6 dress Barrack dress. Atop to all remf video bloggers. Wet weather/Foul weather outer kit should NEVER be stored compress or they end up as useful as tits on a fish (Norwegian shirts were privately purchased and I still have mine 30 years on!!!
I joined in 1969 when you were probably still wetting your nickers and if you think my comment ,meant as a comparison is trolling you are obviously of the thumb sucking generation. I had been in the Mans Army for 5 years in a divisional field unit before we got maggots (not doss bags) until then most soldiers had to by green civvy sleeping bags. The first set of 1958 webbing I bought from silvermans because our armoured brigade were still wearing converted 1948 webbing That’s why I said you must have spent most of your career outside the QM, You might also like to consider the the rifle 5.56 (SA 80) was not on general issue until 1994 (the year I left the Army as a very senior NCO. You might also want to consider that during my service I did 6 tours in Northern Ireland wearing dodgey theatre issue clobber. I was in the Falklands where my wet weather gear was supplied by my then father in law ( a Milk Marketing board inspector) So it does rub a bit rough when you turn up 3 sleeping systems etc etc were you ever aware of the term Kit excess to requirement? If you are making money from churning out the stuff you do, then good luck to you, but you aren’t impressing real soldiers who understand what improvise and prevail and still win wars!!!! How was the flight back from Kabul by the way?
When I left I asked QM clerk for a list of what I was issued because my room was a good distance away.Luckily "my" GPS and watch ,and a bunch of other kit was not on the list. Some was issued,a lot acquired/swapped. Mostly passed on to other people in last week's.
After nearly 22 years service I can relate! Back loaded a lot of my old DPM kit a few ago but still have loads of kit I never use or won't be accounted for on my de kit. I have a new General Service Respirator which doesn't even appear on my flick! Might keep that for the zombie apocalypse??? :)
Hottest video to-date. Just a thought but maybe first video of civilian life should be you modeling random hoochie daddy shorts, they're super hot in the states these days
Is there a recognised way to mark your kit? I’ve heard first 2 letters of your surname followed by your number. A relative is joining soon and thinking of getting them a stamp to label their uniform items. Neater and less time consuming than a laundry or permanent marker. Used one for my police uniform way back and then for school uniforms with my kids. Finding your videos very clear and informative.
Thank you for the prompt and very helpful reply! I’ll pass it on. Just had a rethink on the stamp though, as he won’t get his number until he rocks up at ATC. He passed everything at assessment apart from a missing page of medical notes. GP is on the case so hopefully will get the info to the Army soon.
A bit unrelated to this video, what Role were you? You had black pants you mentioned were from bomb disposal, were you an ammo tech? I did my AC in July and I’m waiting for a stupid med deferral to be lifted, I’ve been torn between Infantry, CMT and Ammo tech. Just looking for opinions
And what if you lost some of the military kits at the end of your carrier. Finger cross 🤞It won’t happen but just asking it casually😁because I am also in a military.

I've spotted loads of kit missing. New resi, black/brown boots, beret, belts, webbing, 1's/2's, shoes..
His not deployed for years probably a camp solider.!!
As every one got new MTP and new virus items. All green kit or desert kit was handed in.
What are you on about. Once you deploy and get back you have to have your kit in, you lunatic
I couldn’t fit it all in
I used to think we had loads in the RN. Seams you have loads more. How do you cary all this kit.
I wish you well outside in future.

Are you allowed to keep/buy the army helmet so you can keep it as a trophy
Nah, you have to hand it back in unless it isn’t on your file.
Do you have to give all the gear back in or are you allowed to keep it of you wanted to obviously excluding the body armour and helmet
You could keep most of it if you wanted to.

No, one or the other
You could wear the ecba armour with the plce but for airsoft unless your trying to work on your shoulders I wouldn't recommend it
Are you charged the cost of anything that you’ve been issued but don’t return?
You can be but if you are on good terms with the clothing store you should be fine
Lol. Crisp packets, norgie top. And 2 sets of mess tins. I did that to at depot. Enjoy ur free civi life
