The two franchises have their own unique approach to fast food. Burger King was always, "Have it your way", meaning if you wanted extra ingredients, or something held, they would make the burger that way.

I love both, but nothing can stop a Whopper for me. The taste of the flame grilled burger and the bun + whatever the mayo they use is just so good.

The boys are sooo good at breaking down flavours, I would have liked to have seen more of that approach.
They definitely went on flavor but I would say it wasn’t nostalgia as much as “iconic” factor…the foods ability to make a memory and desire it again and again. I loved this episode! It’s supposed to be fun!!!

Burger King has much better burgers than McDonald's and it isn't even close. I worked for both places in my teens and Burger King's broiler makes a world of difference.
It's about memories of a fast food, it's about the desired taste. Personally perfect Burger King.

I feel like the general consensus is that when McDonald's makes something well it's really good and when it fails it fails really hard, while burger King stays kind of solid all the way through
However, that is ofc just my personal opinion
Do let me know when they make something well then. I've yet to find anything on the menu that I'd have a second time. It is the epitome of bad fast food, overly salted, overly greasy, and clearly not made from quality ingredients.

As someone who hates cheese I really appreciate that Burger King doesn't include cheese on every single menu item. So many times I go to McDonald's and ask for it with no cheese, and guess what? I still get cheese

Been following GMM for more than 8 years, and I still get irritated every time Link destroys the integrity of a burger by separating the top bun. Some things never change!
I completely understand people have foods they just can't stand but tomatoes are my absolute favorite food in the world and he always craps on them lol. But like I said, I do understand but it hurts my heart.

The Ch'King is so similar to the Popeyes sandwich because they're the same parent company. They clearly just copy and pasted the recipe and I don't blame them one bit, it's a winning formula.

@@saltydog7038 I have and they're pretty much the same. However, the Ch'King tends to vary a lot more in quality from BK to BK than the Popeyes sandwich from location to location in my experience.

I never order chicken sandwiches at burger places
As someone from the UK, I was a little confused by the title at first - I didn't realise that McD and Burger King were in the same league in the states! It was like reading "bazooka vs water pistol", just not a fair battle (for context, Burger King burgers are objectively better quality over here, opinion doesn't really come into it).
Instead, the power McD has in its favour is its value and convenience - everything is much cheaper there, and there are far more stores around the country (also, McD has a better breakfast option).
I live in the states but have been to Europe. It's roughly the same here. It has always baffled me that people enjoy McDonald's. I think here in the states it's because people just don't know any better. It's an apple v android thing. BK wasn't great in the 90s and i think ppl just didn't give them another shot. They are so much better now.
The only good thing about UK Burger King is their supersized drinks.

I think this is the first time I’ve been confused by Rhett’s rating scale. He likes the McD fish sandwich ok enough but says he doesn’t order it and probably wouldn’t order it. Moving on to the BK fish sandwich- he says it’s really really good and that he would order it but with cheese. He calls it “significantly better” than the McD fish sandwich. But at rating time- he gives McD a 6 and BK an 8. The way he spoke about them truly suggested more than a 2 point difference.

I think when he has the score sheet he gives his initial reaction; otherwise he seems to have a discussion in his head to decide but only says a small amount of what he's thinking so the score doesn't seem to match "I'm going to be generous and give a 2" clearly there was more to this going on in his head
Doing the fish and the “let’s see if we can do chick fil A” sandwiches is a wild move. Mccchicken and chicken Jr are 2 of the best things on both menus
The burger king nuggets are the only thing I order from there, they have a special place in my heart for sure.
By the state of the comment section, I think a rematch is in order. The crew needs to do a bit better of a job in matching the appropriate menu items together in the categories! This definitely felt like they were trying to force McDonalds as the winner.

I agree with you. I think McDonald's brand power sometimes makes people think it tastes better than it really does. I'd much prefer BK on any of these except the McFlurry probably

@@shaywolf7170 McDs fries are super overrated, they're almost always cold and bad but even if they're fresh I give them like 5/10. It's a remarkably average fry. The nuggets are better but I still prefer BK nugs too

I heard back in the day, McDonalds fries used to taste even more awesome because they fried the french fries in Beef Tallow, and the 80-90's shift to slightly more healthier food, they switched to vegetable oil, and that's what we've had ever since.
They also switched up the oil twice since the 1990 swap. In 2003ish, and again shortly before 2010.
But those times weren't as noticeable as the change from beef tallow.
Which is funny because beef tallow is probably healthier then vegetable oil and definitely healthier then hydrogenated vegetable oil that they first changed it too
That's why say for example some Fish n Chip shops in the UK still use Lard or a mix and Thier chips taste just amazing lol. Currently McDonald's fries have started to taste really bland and tasteless where I live and the sweet n sour sauce now tastes nasty and has a horrid after taste.
