Glad to see you two like it. Wagakki band is one of Japan's most popular bands at the moment. They started in 2012 under the name Hanfugetsu with only three members, shakuhachi player Kaminaga Daisuke, and koto player Ibukuro Kiyoshi. Yoku played the piano at that time. she had a dream of a larger rock / metal band playing a mix of modern and traditional instruments. Machiya joined the band. Suzuhana also met drummer Wasabi at an event by Nico Nico Douga. Wasabi, Kaminaga, and Ibukuro had all previously worked with wadaiko player Kurona, who was invited to join the new ensemble. Vocaloid song "Tsuki Kage Mai Ka" with Kanade on shamisen and Shirakami Mashiro on bass. A video of the recording was released in October 2012 and went viral, remaining in the top 3 of the "Played It" category. Bassist Asa, a popular Vocaloid producer and creator of the hit song "Yoshiwara Lament", then joined the band. During a gig in a Shibuya bar, the band was approached by shamisen player Ninagawa Beni, who became the final addition to the band. (some info taken from wikkipedia) Then Wagakki band was reality. Try: Izana, Ignite, Kagerou, Queen of the night, sasameyuki .... there is more. Greetings from Norway
I'm very happy to see you reacting to Wagakki band! They are fantastic! I was planning on requesting them myself coming up, so this is a nice surprise! The band was created and is lead by the singer, Yuko Suzuhana (37), who is a composer, pianist, singer and poet. She started classical piano at the age of 3, and has a degree from the Tokyo College of Music. She is expert with samurai swords. She's even the host of her own TV show in Japan. Good call, Eric! :)
I've got a few bands that I considered 'guilty pleasures:' bands that I like but never thought they were the kind to recommend for reactions. But a lot of them have suddenly started making the RUclips reaction channel rounds. Wagakki Band are one. Another is Icon For Hire, who were a surprise favorite of a serious musician/reactor, who even got in touch with the band to react to a brand new video during it's premiere. So maybe I'll see Icon For Hire's Hollow or Now You Know videos on this channel someday...
Thanks for reacting to waggaki band... So glad to see another person can find the hidden gem of music in this planet... their amazing and epicness music surely is blown away
Dit lied is het introductielied van Wagakki Band. Daarom hebben alle leden tijd om solo te spelen. Er zijn veel moeilijkheden, maar deze wereld is niet zo slecht als je denkt. "Kom op, laten we het feest beginnen. "Zegen jullie allemaal! Dat is waar de teksten over gaan.
Now this is the way to introduce the traditional virtuosity to modern audiences. I love their compositions, I love their brilliant arrangements, I love their individual virtuosity - and I love the whole crew in the background making all these well discerned live sounds and visuals possible. All the tech pros. It takes a village... you know. Wagakki Band is such a great phenomenon, can't wait to see them live some day. Great reaction video, sweet ladies. Warmest cheers from Finland.
Hey, ladies! I'm glad to see you enjoying this amazing band. I discovered them when they invited Amy Lee from Evanescence to play with them, doing "Bring Me To Life". It's most excellent - I expect you'd like it. Great job! 🤘😎👍
°v° Thanks, gals, for pointing me out to one of my new fave bands ... Actually this was my first time listening to them. It's just plain funny when you realize you just discovered (once again) an amazing new band through a reaction video . . . Now I have to check them out for real . . . And you're to blame! =;-) Btw have you ever done a reaction on --> Lindsey Sterling: Roundtable Rebel? I don't wanna spoil it - I just wish for you watching it and be pleasantly surprised. You'll then understand why I love this video so much...! °v°
Very glad to see you reacted to Wagakki band, which is one of my favorite band! hope you to react 'Senbonzakura' which is their most famous song for the next!!
When I was in Highschool I saw Nirvana in Concert and I can't remember the name of the all girl Japanese band but they were amazing. So was the Breeders and of course Nirvana.
So glad to see your pure surprise and liking it!! Three string guitar=Shamisen by Beni, Bamboo flute=Shakuhachi by Daisuke, Flat harp=Koto by Ibukuro, Japanese drums=Wa Daiko by Kurona, Guitar by Machiya, Bass guitar by Asa, Drums by Wasabi and Vocalist Yuko. This was written and composed by Japanese drum Kurona. Many of them compose by themselves and have their own bands. There are so many amazing songs to pick for recommendations. One of very different flavor songs is “Sabaku no Komoriya (Desert lullaby)” , very slow, decent and hypnotic! m.ruclips.net/video/ynFg7-gqJqc/видео.html
For your first reaction to Wagakki band, this song was a fantastic choice. It really gives each artist a chance to showcase their talents, while also showing how well they all meld into the larger sound. I would recommend checking out Queen of the Night next. It is a beautiful song, and the video for it is amazing.
