    Absolutely appreciate that feature. One important criteria in regard of UI/X is missing imho: instead of completely having buttons ”disappear“ I would recommend to leave them and grey them out as ”deactivated“. Otherwise it could be possible that some members are not even aware that they are ”missing“ features. It could be confusing in the awareness.

    • @lajuancollins4466
      @lajuancollins4466 3 года назад +2

      I agree. I plan to limit most access controls as paid features. Adding an option in the admin to substitute those features/buttons(when restricted) with a custom label and link or modal to upgrade their current plan- would greatly increase conversion rates.

    • @RichardScharfenberg
      @RichardScharfenberg 3 года назад +1

      By leaving the buttons greyed out you might also incentivize members to find out what they need to do in order to get access to the feature that is restricted or deactivated. But this is only the start! Awesome work BuddyBoss team. Keep up the great work!

    • @designdrudge
      @designdrudge 3 года назад +2

      @LaJuan Collins @@RichardScharfenberg both great points. Rather than having something not displaying at all, it should show something that a member is missing and wants to have. This could also be ”optional“ in the setup. So both scenarios would be possible then.

      yes you are absolutely right ..also when someone click on that greay button they must redirect to our membership plan so they can buy and use that feature ..

    The different filters beyond memberships, and the additional media settings, make this a great added-benefit for Paid Membership Pro users already using the BuddyPress add-on and could possibly even replace it! I am currently developing a storage manager that tracks and limits the total amount of space allowed for media in the photo and document tabs of both the user profiles and groups that will compliment these features quite nicely as well! It's based on membership, but BB's use of additional filters is also very interesting...

    Can you please confirm one thing though, will there be an introduction for restricting what types of groups members can choose from as it's the only thing stopping me reaching the full potential of my site as I feel I can't publish without this control.
    Half the group types are ones that I control in the wider community, yet I need to keep all groups created by the community in a custom menu and to not be displayed anywhere else.

    I asked this in Facebook as well... This new update does away with a very important feature that is a major issue for our community. The new Group Messaging UX does not provide an easy way for a Group Organizer to send a "BCC" style message to all group members. We have over 100+ groups that use this ability weekly and/or daily. It seems that now there is only an option to message all publicly (all members receive all replies) or to send private messages to individuals... It literally removes a feature that was instrumental in us buying BuddyBoss and investing in the new APP. Please tell me this can be resolved! :)

      @@BuddybossWP Thank you for your response.
      Attaching only one Profile Type to a member appears an outlier case. Most communities of any depth/breadth consists of members who wear multiple hats. For example, the case covered in the video defines two profile types: Teacher and Student. A school member could wear the hat of Student, Tutor, Custodial Engineer, Library Apprentice, etc.
      In my specific case, a member can be a Player, and a Coach, and a Volunteer, and a Referee, and a Tournament Organizer, and a Vendor, Gender, etc. In my targeted community, a member holding only ONE Profile Type IS the outlier. I imagine that is the same for most communities.
      Do you have plans to address this critical need; that is, multiple profile types per member? I would use BuddyDev’s BuddyPress Member Types Pro plugin since it is compatible with all BuddyPress themes; unfortunately however, not BuddyBoss.

    Can I disable making comments for specific member types?

    • @BuddybossWP
      @BuddybossWP  3 года назад

      Hey Sarosh, you can restrict who has access to posting on the Activity feed based on membership types.
      Member Access Control is focused around the BuddyBoss functionality - for example: groups, activity, messaging and media

    How do I get the greyed out "Membership" option to show in the Group Access section?

    • @BuddybossWP
      @BuddybossWP  Год назад

      hello, as long as you have the membership plugin activated it should be available in the selection, if it isn't, we highly suggest creating a support ticket so that our support team can check. Thank you!

    Will there be an access control for the app vs the website?

    • @BuddybossWP

      Yes, this feature also works in the BuddyBoss App.

      @@BuddybossWP No I mean will you be able to say only certain memberships can have the App?

    • @BuddybossWP
      @BuddybossWP  3 года назад

      Sorry for the delayed reply, the Member Access Control does not distinguish between app vs web.
      Currently we haven't got any option to restrict app logins based upon specific memberships. I'll add it to our suggested feedback though.

      Try to clear your browser cookies and cache, and server cache first. It is possible that there is a conflicting plugin issue. Please deactivate all other plugins except for the BuddyBoss Platform and Platform Pro. If this solves the issue, activate them one by one to find out which one was creating a conflict. If that did not fix the problem, kindly submit us a support ticket here: my.buddyboss.com
