I'm so intrigued and motivated to flip my property to an abundant garden, thanks for the inspiration!
Learn Organic Gardening at GrowingYourGreens I love your videos too👍👍👍 where can I find this plant. I live in Louisiana fb lieblee2015@gmail.com
I'm glad I found this.. use to be addicted to the grass jelly drink in the can. I always thought it was made with grass and pectin or gelatin. lol Awesome info!
There are a few kinds of grass jelly that come in cans. The cans I’ve seen are of black jelly and the other is green, but ingredients do contain pectin. Flavor of black jelly comes from Asian herb, not from the vine I showed in this video. Grass Jelly in this video are usually sold in Vietnamese sandwich shops in California. Hope I didn’t confuse you. :)
hmm I'll have to research it further..I believe the jelly was a translucent brown color. Possibly due to other ingredients. Either way I'd be interested in trying the vine version. thank you for the additional info :)
Omg I love your channel so much
Thank You!
Will you be selling the plant starts again this year? If so I would love to order one.
I've never heard if this vine but I'm definitely going to get a plant or some seeds. I love your videos! Thanks for sharing!

Great video! Thanks so much Wendi 😁! Can I ask which kind of soil is good for Suong Sam? Do it need special fertiliser or can stand the cold winter about 5C degree?
You should show a review of succulents. I LOVE CACTI!!!
Hi Wendy, thank you for this video. Do you cut your vines during winter or leave it alone (new leaves will grow on old wood in spring)? Thanks so much!
I had no idea that this plant was useful. I see it around Florida a lot and it is considered a weed.....would love to know that it is the same thing, though. If not, then I would love to get a cutting from you. Great info.
We bought 2 plants and will grow them...and will try mix with other fruit juice...! Thank you for your video.
Love your creativity! In my experience I have not found other juices binding with jelly. Let me know if yours does.
@@wendiland Perhaps directly replacing water by let say orange juice...
Just speculating here haha...
But I am in VN (Nha Trang & Ninh Dông) and these plants will grow fast and we will do these experiment.
Will let you know in a few months.
In the meantime you will be able to look at our progress @labellacrepenhatrang

Hi Wendi, love you videos. Where can we find this plant?
How to care for this plant? Not sure how to make vines bushy and make it grow faster
You are fabulous
Awww, so much joy eating that :))
My favorite summer beverage. :P
I went to try and buy some jello plants ☹ but OUT OF STOCK! 😨 Oh no! That dessert looked so good! 😭
Awesome
Mine is starting have flowers. I don’t know if I cut it off so more leaves will grow or leave it. Is this just from one plant? How long does it take to grow that big? Btw adding a few drops olive oil of when you blend the leaves prevents the foamy or bubble on top when the jello thickens.
When will you have it back in stock?
Amazon has some sellers who have seeds or plants for sale.
Hi Wendi, can you use the older leaves when making the jelly? Or do you only use the young leaves?
I think you can use the older, and they have more jelly than the younger .
Love this video! You explained it so well. Now my problem of finding this plant in MD. Are you selling off some of your shoots? I would love to buy some off of you. :D
Yes there will be more of this plant available on my website soon. Please check back, or sign up for newsletter at Wendiland.com

Yeet

hi wendi, just passing by saw your video ,anyway do you still have plant available?
Hello Wendi. I'm Vietnamese. I know your channel through searching key word "suong sam". You are also Vietnamese, aren't you? Thank you for making interesting videos ❤❤❤
Are you sure this is Cocculus orbiculatus? When I Google that I come up with Queen coralbead vine, but when I Google Suong Sam the vine Tiliacora triandra comes up with all sorts of info about grass jelly with recipes and uses.
According to this source, several different plants may be used to make grass jelly: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grass_jelly
I found a local Vietnamese mom and pop nursery that Carrie's these vines so got a couple for me and a friend. So excited to try to grow my own, and I know they will grow here in Phoenix since they have the mother plant growing in their yard. Thanks Wendu for introducing this!
I think Tiliacora triandra is better
Hi Wendy, I've seen this video before and the jello dessert looks so good I could practically taste it. I saw another video last night when John Kohler visited your house and he tasted it. Do you have any grass jelly cuttings or plants for sale? I would love to try growing one. I live in So. CA. I also saw that video when you went to that Exotica nursery in Vista. I had so much fun watching you taste all those unusual fruits. I will visit them soon.
This plant would grow crazy for you! It loves So Cal. You can pickup a plant at my shop: wendiland.com/collections/herbs-plants/products/grass-jelly-vine You would love Exotica! Thank you for watching! :D
Why is this vine so expensive. Would there be shipping and taxes added? I did not see your reply and opted to purchase seeds off etsy. I know you said the seeds were inconspicious or non existent but when they arrived they were anything but. Pretty good size about like a grape seed. I hope I'm not getting ripped off. Well, guess I will find out.@@wendiland
Were can buy the plants pls thank you for your reply
Can I use my juicer?
I read it from the plant mesona chinesis so it's this the same as the canned grass jelly?
Looks like it's related to the green briar but I didn't see prickers.
Hi Wendi - Would you please share some of these vines with me? Thank you Sophie
Would the plant grow in NYC in the summer?
Please tell me were can I buy this plants?
Wendy,
Are you selling this Sam plant? My mom is diabetic and this is her favorite jello drink. I would love to order if you are selling. Please let me know? Much thanks!
Do sell this particular plant
when i made my suong sam, it was fine after i made it, but the next morning, it gives out lot of water, and the longer i leave it in the fridge, the more water it produces, what did i do wrong or how do i avoid that? Thanks
Hi! I just do this jello. But I only got the brown water. Do you know why? I follow your steps.
Will it taste good with other tropical fruits, say mango, pineapple, maybe pears?
grass jelly is very mild so other tropical fruits will taste good. i like them with lychee, heat of palms, and jack fruit.
Is this available yet??

Hi, are you sure about the name, that it is "Cocculus orbiculatus", and not "Mesona chinensis"? But anyhow, I cannot find seeds online of either plant, and therefore want to ask you, if you have seeds of that plant - having seen your video, i of course want to grow it! :-D
Hi, I live in Southern California, where can I get this plant, thanks
You can checkout at many Asian nurseries in Orange County.
Is it grown from cutting or from seed?
It can be grown from cutting or seeds, but seeds may require the right climate to produce. It's much faster to start from cuttings. Check out Wendiland.com for the grown plant. Thanks for watching!
