Nothing in this entire world has brought me more joy than my son's Nothing has given me a bigger sense of purpose than becoming a mother, raising kids is definitely not easy but it is absolutely amazing i am so so happy that i have them. The narrative being pushed that kids ruin your life is honestly so sad 💔
I don’t have kids yet, but when I was thirteen, I became an older sibling. My brother was a surprise to our family, but he has been a huge blessing ever since. I love him so much, and I can’t imagine my life without him.
Did you ever feel ready for them or do people never really feel ready for kids? I just turned 27 and think I'm in that period of my life where I need to do it soon
That's because you're a loving mother. This guy on the video is a creep who talks about his friends like they are nothing but resources and compares children and pets to expensive commercial products built for his enjoyment.
It's such a selfish perspective too. It comes from the mindset of treating kids like accessories. Also, maybe having kids would be less burdensome on urban families if they taught their kids how to do as much for themselves as possible as soon as they were capable of doing it. Start them off doing small shores, and then as they age and mature, give them more responsibility at home. Not only does it make your life easier as the parent, but it can help teach your kid responsibility, duty, discipline, delayed gratification, hard work (and later, once they've got down, how to work smarter so you don't always have to work so hard), confidence through competence (as opposed to unearned "self-esteem"), and just basic knowledge of how to take care of themselves. I knew kids in college who only just started doing their own laundry when I was doing that since at least junior high, and sure, I didn't always want to do my chores and take care of my own business, but I'm unbelievably grateful that my parents taught me how to do as much as possible as soon as popossible. Sure, I still have some things to learn even in my late 20s (like how to cook certain things, mostly, also there's always more anyone can learn at any age), but compared to a lot of people throughout their 20s, my folks did a pretty good job preparing me how to competently exist on my own as much as possible. Unstructured play is important, but parents need to teach and train their kids how to be competent human beings!

There was a lady on a Matt Walsh video comment section who was trying to say taking care of her dogs was the same as raising kids. I had to laugh at how crazy the comparison was.
@@Imissnormal Today on YT, I saw a (portion) video of a guy of his cat that "always had to be with him"...largely sitting on his shoulder. Really? Obviously it's a personal choice to be the tallest piece of furniture in the room. Just put the cat down. And video #2, was a foster "mom" giving a pit bull a milk bath with flower petals...spa day. Of course the truth of the matter is the complete lack of importance and narcissism pushing them to set-up their cameras take videos and then edit them just to make stupid videos. I bailed on the videos and downvoted them both.
@@cincydooley there are similarities, and I do agree with the advice that young married couples should get a dog or a cat (probably a dog) before having kids because they're similar enough that it's a lower stakes crash course in learning how to take care of something that is largely dependent upon you for its continued existence, but beyond that, I completely agree that people shouldn't treat pets like replacement kids. There are some similarities to having children, but they're not the same, in no small part because animals are of lesser value than other human life, and kids don't developmentally stay as children for their entire lives. Not that pets have no value or that there aren't different, perfectly valid reasons for wanting to have pets, but having kids is such a deeper and more meaningful experience.

I've only read comments so far. Having a family or kids is not a value or a life goal. It's a huge responsibility and it often requires almost superhuman powers to hold on. By far the funniest thing the majority of parents do is they are always in a rush claiming how rewarding it is to have children and how much joy they brought them. While this is how it should be the reality is so different, a lot of parents are completely disappointed by the way their family life turned out, and way too exhausted and frustrated to enjoy their kids. And so many oh so incompetent. People are rarely honest but when they are many will admit they would choose a family free life if they could do it all over again.
I've never heard of this dude but wtf? Listen he is right on one thing. It is the person choice on whether or not they want to have kids. I'll be the first to admit I actually wanted to start a family but honestly looking at how I am now I don't think I'd be a good father/father figure. So I kinda just let that idea die down. Maybe if I was more mentally stable I could try but I'm only 18 can't really say that yet.
@@davionscott7 I'll give myself time. Still got time for college and more of life to come. I just hope when I'm done and doing the job I want to do I ain't too busy.
It's a pretty common Gen Z thing to make fun of someone for their sex life, no matter the context. Someone once called me a virgin because I was defending turnkey start cars over push to start, because I said that I've never scratched up the side of my car with my keys. Apparently having basic hand-eye coordination means you don't get laid
Sorry to hear it. It's not impossible, but a lot more difficult. I'm on the backend of my 20s. I always knew I always wanted kids, even when I was a teenager, but relationships never really worked out or turned into anything in high school, and I honestly didn't know what I was doing in college (and kinda still don't) and just didn't put in a whole lot of effort on the romantic side of my life in that phase of life, largely because I wasn't comfortable opening up that way to people I didn't know first and because i was pretty turned off by a lot of what I saw and heard with all of the shallow, petty, melodramatic, and or manupulative nonsense in the modern dating market, especially at college. I had friends (male and female friends), but I'm very selectively social and was never into the bar/club crawl/house party club scene, so i mostly just went about my business from class, to work, to family time, to friend time (with whom, although some were dating people, partying and "picking up" the oppisite sex wasn't the priority of our get togethers), then me-time/alone time when I could get it because I just can't stand to be around people 24/7 and need to recharge. Now I'm out of college and trying to make my way in the professional world, but now my last job went out the window when the company laid off a bunch of people as a consequence of the pandemic, so while I have a social life, I still haven't landed more decent longterm employment (although I stay busy) and don't really have a ton of viable dating options due to socual circles and the work situation. I've always been fairly good at maintaining a good flow of discussion when I'm in an actual conversation, but I've never been superb at initiating small talk with people i don't know unless I have something specific I want or need to talk to them about. That's never been my strong suit either romantically or in general. Idk, in hindsight, I wish I took a little better care of myself in certain ways and actually put in a little more effort when I was a bit younger to "play the field" more when it was simply easier in college. At the very least I'd have more experience than I do now. It probably isn't too late if I buckle down and put in the work, but it really does feel like the window of opportunity to enter a stable and happy longterm relationship and eventually have kids at a reasonably young age is quickly closing. Although I'm obviously not in your solution, I completely agree with your larger point. It's far better to get all of your priorities straight as young as possible and then have a solid action plan for how to acheive it. If family is something you might even remotely see yourself wanting at some point in the future, don't waste your time, the sooner the better and the easier it'll be.
As someone who owns two Corvettes (Kentucky Porsches) and has no kids this is actually the first thing I've ever heard David Hogg say that I didn't 100% disagree with. 😂 .. granted I said "dont 100% disagree"..see , I like being the fun uncle who spreads the good word of a pro 2A lifestyle
I like how the most "accepting and inclusive" group of people is always the first the to body shame, sex shame, and insult physically any person that disagrees with them.
I’ve always considered my cats as my little babies, but I’m very aware that they are not comparable to actual kids. Cause while animals are sentient and definitely able to have emotions it’s no where close to the level an actual human would have. So I’ll always love my little fur babies but if it came down to them or my niece and nephew, I’m gonna choose my niece and nephew.
i have a cat and two dogs myself, but even as someone who loves animals and isn't a parent yet, i know pets and children are not even remotely similar, and it is so insulting to say they are.
As a leftist, shouldn't David Hogg have picked another brand of sports car, instead of Porsche? Also don't have kids, they may grow up to be another David Hogg 🤣😂

I don't know this man, but I'd rather have a Porsche too. Not everyone is a good fit for parenthood. I see no problem in realizing that early on and contributing to society in some other way (donations, community work, etc), instead of birthing a kid that you won't be able to give your all to.

Yeah I can see what you mean however when you have a child you have a unconditional love for your child so even if you think you don’t want one when you do have one it’s one of the best thing that you can do it also helps you mature
Ok everyone, I'm not like this guy nor am I a liberal.. I am a conservative, I've been watching how the world is unfolding & it scares me, to have a kid in this world, under evil Biden & his evil demoncrats! I just rather not have any kids with anyone, I'd just rather stick with my furkids, that I call my cats!
My family just spent around $10k on my dogs recent health scare - he just got home from the pet hospital today. That’s equivalent to a year of my in state tuition.
There are plenty of reasons not to have kids, and not all of them are selfish. For example, maybe there’s a genetic disorder that you have that you’d rather not pass on because you know how much it affects you and you don’t want to saddle someone else with it. I also don’t like the idea that “starting a family” begins with having kids. Where does that leave marriage?
When I was 20 I said the same thing. 5 years can change a lot. That's the scary thing with all this trans-activism, when the fad dies off and these hundreds of thousands of people that were left sterile and mutilated to the point where 53% report not being able to achieve climax following "bottom surgery."
"I'm never planning on having kids." That's the smartest thing that failed abortion has ever said, and I fully support him not poisoning the world with more of his special brand dumbf*ckery and unearned sense of entitlement.
I don’t have kids nor would I want them, love my dogs, and would enjoy a nice sports car. Outside or those areas of agreement, I still think David Hogg is a tool.
This comments section is ALSO very concerning. The amount of people who don't want to have kids is insane. Many of them are so worried about "what they'll grow up like, umm...they'll grow up to be what you and others influence them in my dudes. They are impressionable, and so we have a Duty and Responsibility to raise them the right way...and therein lies the problem. So many people these days absolutely REFUSE to take responsibility, as they think life is all about THEM. Also, the whole idea of Never Being Ready to have kids. Like Y'ALL, no one is ever "READY" for parenthood. It's a GROWING process, that happens over TIME, and it also (usually) has a Maturing effect on the parents as well.
An invading force. There will not be enough young people in the army to keep our country safe and some other force will come here to get our resources for themselves.
None. I'm going to let they/them try to reproduce themselves and see how they spectacularly fail by slowly dying of old age. Knowing how the economy and the current state of education is, it's simply not worth it. Kids are 18-20 years of time and money investment, which the current economy and the current fast paced lifestyle doesn't support.
I don’t understand how this young is still single… are young men scared of women with a back bone?? Praying for you Brett my wife and I love your show!
Thanks for this video Brett. It is incredibly sad and selfish that people don’t want kids. I’m 25 y.o. I have a strong desire to have a husband and father one day. It’s my God given role as a man. Male leadership is placing others above yourself and help them grow and flourish. But it’s hard to have kids, it takes selfless love and self sacrifice. People would rather love themselves instead of pouring into the next generation. Sad thing is when these childless people get old they will be depressed. They will have no one to take care of them or any legacy. Just meaningless stuff that will be given away to strangers when they die.
So you want people who do not want kids to bring children into the world. How generous of you. Why not let people live the lives they want if it doesn't bring harm to others?
I’m a Porsche fanboy 100%. But no car will ever compare to the joy that is having children. Ever. Not even the most insane and exciting machine comes close to loving your kids.
True kids and pets are not the same. After my last miscarriage I have decided to stop trying to have kids. I have a kitten and going to give her all my love. Yes I’m a cat mom.
I gotta say, if people with this worldview don’t wanna have kids I’m not mad about it.

Once I had my first child, our dog of 6 years became just our dog, not our spoiled little baby anymore.😆

Hang on for a while by the time till you stabilize with a decent life, you will do great with kids. They are a serious choice but a great choice.
@@davionscott7 I'll give myself time. Still got time for college and more of life to come. I just hope when I'm done and doing the job I want to do I ain't too busy.
You can sacrifice that goal, or better yet, undergo self-improvement (if it's that kind of inadequacy) so that you will be a good father.
I'd say recognizing you aren't ready puts you a lot closer to being ready than 90% of your age group if that makes any sense.
Guys shouldn't even consider having kids till they're 24, 25
And let's get real, HE WASN'T AT THE SCHOOL ON THE FIRST PLACE!
I lived by the put it off 'till later mentality, and now I am single without children in my mid 40's. I regret it every single day.
Survived an event that he was nowhere near.
The only time I’ll agree with him. If I had a choice of Porsche or a kid this instance, I’d choose a car.
i love kids but lets be honest, get me the porsche
Somebody needs to tell David Hogg that a Porsche isn't "green" because of the paint job...
I had forgotten that little twerp existed. It was great.
So I’ll always love my little fur babies but if it came down to them or my niece and nephew, I’m gonna choose my niece and nephew.
maybe have monkeys or apes as companions if u want a kid who stays at around 4 years old in terms of the mentality
No person wants another David Hogg in this world.
i have a cat and two dogs myself, but even as someone who loves animals and isn't a parent yet, i know pets and children are not even remotely similar, and it is so insulting to say they are.
Ummm I've lost count of how many times Brett has called herself a Dog Mom. Glass houses Brett!
To be fair, I wouldn’t recommend having kids when single, it’s hard enough as a couple. Most single people can manage a dog or two.
As a leftist, shouldn't David Hogg have picked another brand of sports car, instead of Porsche?
Also don't have kids, they may grow up to be another David Hogg 🤣😂

If David Hogg projected anymore, he could open up a chain of theaters.
Do we really WANT him to have a kid?
I don't. I'd rather he NOT bring a life into this world, and ruin his/her innocence in the first place. That said, he (and everyone like him) can also keep his clammy little hands off of my (future) children.

FR
When I was 20 I said the same thing. 5 years can change a lot. That's the scary thing with all this trans-activism, when the fad dies off and these hundreds of thousands of people that were left sterile and mutilated to the point where 53% report not being able to achieve climax following "bottom surgery."
Let me guess, he is gonna blame it on guns…somehow
"I'm never planning on having kids."
That's the smartest thing that failed abortion has ever said, and I fully support him not poisoning the world with more of his special brand dumbf*ckery and unearned sense of entitlement.

I hope he sticks to that, we don't need any piglets.
I don’t have kids nor would I want them, love my dogs, and would enjoy a nice sports car. Outside or those areas of agreement, I still think David Hogg is a tool.
Hear hear.
The recent push against having children is concerning. Who the hell will be the next generation to make society function when we get older?
2:32 Nobody wants to fuck guns. Calm down.
