I’ve had this song sitting incomplete for about a month because it is such a monumental song and I wanted it to be perfect, I think in the end it’s just as good as I could get, I’m glad you liked it. Maybe now I can work on the actual real ‘Rule Britannia’ and not historical versions or off lyrical changes.
It is remarkable how a relatively small island nation, such as England, transformed from a regional power into a global empire that shaped the course of world history. Over the span of a millennium, England's rise began with internal consolidation following the Norman Conquest in 1066, leading to the eventual formation of Great Britain and its dominance on the global stage. Through periods of exploration, colonization, industrialization, and military conquest, the British Empire spread across continents, bringing with it both the positive and negative impacts of imperialism. By the height of its power in the 19th and early 20th centuries, the British Empire controlled vast territories in the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Oceania, reshaping the political, economic, and cultural landscapes of these regions. The legacy of Britain’s influence is evident in the global prevalence of the English language, the widespread adoption of parliamentary democracy, and the impact of British legal, educational, and economic systems. However, the nation’s expansion also left behind a complicated history of colonization, conflicts, and cultural imposition that continues to affect former colonies today. This transformation, from a small island to a world-shaping empire, highlights how geography, political strategy, and historical circumstances can converge to elevate a nation’s influence far beyond its borders.

This song I feel would make a better national anthem than the current, although due to the long history of the current one I probably wouldn't change it. There's something much more emotionally moving about a song that talks about England itself, our homeland, than on that talks purely of our monarch, I like the monarchy in the sense that it is a piece of history preserved and I want to keep it for that reason, but I don't feel any huge passion for them nor does the current anthem stir me particularly, but this on the other hand, is our song, for us and about us, you can just feel the pride through your veins, not for anything other than yourself, your family, friends, everyone who you know who lives here, and the land itself.
I really admire Queen Victoria, and Queen Charlotte, such fecund women. They truly did "lie back and think of England (Britain)." One hopes they enjoyed it of course, but to dedicate one (and one's) orifice to such a constant barrage is true patriotism! I hope the new one will be equally willing, I know she is a lot older but we crave the progeny 🇬🇧 👑
I see the clips from 0:45-1:45 a lot, I recognise a few of those films (e.g Cromwell, Victoria etc) but I want to know which movies the other clips are from. If someone can kindly comment a list of movie clips used, that would be great! :)

Jerusalem means the Heavenly Jerusalem aka the Kingdom of the Lord God. The song is saying that one must engage in spiritual warfare until the Heavenly Kingdom becomes manisfest in England by the grace of Christ.
This song is doubly moving for those of us who are devout Christians and can understand what the real, deeper meaning of the lyrics are.
