My daughter is twelve. I’ve been with my fiancé for 7 years and would never allow her to sleep with us or under any circumstance with him alone. If anyone questions why, this case is exactly why. When she wants to cuddle, I cuddle in her bed with just the 2 of us. It’s not because I don’t trust him, it’s because it’s absolutely inappropriate! Her mother failed to protect her in my opinion. An innocent little girl lost her life in the hands of a monster. Life or death is the closest justice possible and her mother is partly responsible. Breaks my heart! This could have been prevented!

Right?! My partner has been my daughter's dad since she was 2 years old and there is just no way I would send my daughter to sleep with my partner in a different bed. I mean its damn weird that Madeleine would be sleeping with her parental figures at this age - I mean, how would they have sex with a child constantly in the room and the whole thing stinks. There are just certain things a male, whether biological father or not, shouldn't do with a female child - such as helping them in the bath for example. They should both be in jail!

Appropriateness aside, I wouldn't want to share a room with a little kid, girl or boy. That sounds like it'd be annoying for both of us. The whole situation is just icky.

School age children are very vulnerable. I cannot understand how Maddie fell through so many nets listening to her teachers describe a very troubled neglected child. A child excessively tired, sleeping in class, it should be mandatory for a class teacher to speak to the parent. When a child describes a mother's boyfriend as wierd, saying she doesn't like him, it should be mandatory for that teacher to follow up, contacting mom etc,. Society continues to fail children when there are no safe spaces for them to speak out in a warm receptive enviornment that helps empower troubled children to speak out with confidence to trusted adults.

Although, teachers are mandated reporters and when they see these signs they HAVE to report to CPS. Theres where the problems arise. Cps is ass backwards and is only concerned about the money it cqn make and not whats best for the kids. Ive been a foster mom and it broke me seeing how the system is. They call to set up appts w the parents tht are being investigated. Who in their right minds are, 1 going to answer and set up appt or 2, not clean up and be prepared for the appt??

    • @phoenixkali
      @phoenixkali 3 месяца назад

@@jennifers.3818that’s not true the teachers can’t report straight to cps, not in my country anyway. The protocol is if a teacher notices something they report it to a higher up. They in turn report it to a higher up and so on. The issue is either lost in translation or covered up because it makes the school look bad that they can’t intervene in a domestic situation. When I was a girl tho, just a word from the teacher got the head on the phone bellyaching my mum and report go social services, and I get hauled into the heads office crying as she ordered me to strip and bathed me then dressed me in clothes from lost property. My problems were bed wetting, unkempt , smelly and unwashed, most days no packed lunch and selective mutism. I remember the social service appointments, my mum sweet talked them into I was the problem child. It wasn’t poverty my dad had a very well paid job but my mum controlled all finances and it was all about her and her affairs which led to frightening situations. That was in the70s, but now teachers and caregivers have no powers to interfere for fear of losing their jobs. An anonymous call from a neighbour would do better.

Don't mistake stalker behavior Stephan did to Maddie for 'a close relationship.' Her friend might've assumed that's what that meant, because he was texting and calling her all the time, but that's stalker behavior, and maybe Maddie didn't want to say anything.
So triggering, my mom's bf kidnapped me after i met him once, age 11, and then he moved in.
I hated him, but was completely terrified and frozen. They threaten you and they love bomb you. He would buy me things i hated, but it confused me. I just don't want anyone to think Maddie felt close to this guy. It's possible, with Stockholm Syndrome, but for me, i just didn't know a way out, so i just lived with it and was too afraid to tell. I can't believe Maddie liked him. I finally told, and all hell broke loose at age 14, but he promised my mom he would never do it again and she forgave him.
I wonder how close i came to being murdered when i look at Maddie's story. I bet she never thought he would kill her. That thought never entered my mind, but he hated me for a long time after i told on him.
They sent me away to live with his brother, who i had never met, for a month, and even my bishop at church told me to just try harder not to get alone with him. So it all got blamed on me.
His brother turned out to be a very kind man, one of the best months of my life and I'm eternally grateful he wasn't like his brother. He never knew, i never told him.
    Maddie, RIP little angel.😢

But also not just stranger danger since that’s rarely the person in question and educating children and parents that females and children are also very prevalent when it comes to SA and other abvses. It’s naive and dangerous to just look at men as a possible danger. Parents fail often times so it would be good to have PSA and schools teaching, but it does lay solely on the parents in the grand scheme of things since they are ultimately responsible for their children’s safety and well being. Outside education is only a bonus and can help those kids without well meaning or involved parents.

OTOH, there are other reasons why a kid might dream of living in the woods: when I was Maddie's age, that's what I fantasized about. I was a fan of Jean Craighead George (My Side of the Mountain, Julie of the Wolves) and I pored over Euell Gibbons' National Geographic articles and Bradford Angier's How To Stay Alive in the Woods by the hour. And I had a cushy life with wonderful parents, although at the time I thought my mom was overprotective and smothering.

If a parent had a lion in their home and that lion killed their child the parent would be held responsible. Because it is a parent’s responsibility to protect their children from predators/dangers. So, if a parent brings a stranger into their home and that stranger killed their child why aren’t the parents just as responsible? The parent has the responsibility to background ck, monitor what’s going on in the home, talking to the children, investigating unusual activity. That stranger/boyfriend/girlfriend isn’t the child’s friend/babysitter/parent. They have no business taking care of your children. They should not be left alone/transport/discipline your child. You are getting to know this person . It takes years to trust someone with the most precious thing you will ever have in your life. The mother should have known or did known about this man and failed to protect her child. She should be held just as responsible for her death.
I was single when my children were young and I ran back ground ck on everyone. No man was allowed in my home when I wasn’t there. No man ever stayed the night when my children were there. I did remarry and never did I allow my new partner to discipline my children babysit my children or ever be alone with them. Not because I didn’t trust him but because my children our my responsibility and their father’s responsibility. If I wasn’t home my parents or their father had them. Not my boyfriends or my new husband.

I call BS on anyone that thinks mom didn’t know what this man was doing. What parent would allow a man to sleep in the same bed same room as their child? For the amount of “stuff” found on his phone and the amount of time it would take to make all that “stuff” someone with any parental responsibility would have figured out something wasn’t right. Let’s go back to her parental responsibility. If she was monitoring her child for safety, at all, she would have found out years ago. The problem with this situation is the mother didn’t care about her child, didn’t take the responsibility for her child so that makes her 100% responsible for what happened to her. She deserves the same life sentence or death penalty as he does.
I bet if “Mother” had a stack of gold she would put it in a safe or bank and she would lock it up. She would keep it safe. Her daughter was worth more than that stack of gold and she did nothing to protect her.

It's pretty astonishing that several people knew about his proclivities when he was way younger. S lived with a few friends in a house for several years that S's father owned. They knew. His mother paid someone( the roomate)off after he found a folder on the house internet that S had filmed of HIS girlfriend (the roomates) coming out of the bathroom after showering etc. Also there was Cp on that folder. So the mother knew, his friends knew and he even dated young girls when he was a teen and in his early 20's. I unfortunately think S is quite common in his predatory behavior for repeat offenders they often date mothers with young children. There's no fixing this depravity exhibited from these predators. They should all be locked permanently. They can never be rehabilitated. Everyone knows it. GH has S's friends that have called in and explained alot of the background of S. Also, some were in contact with up until the beginning of this year. Poor Maddie was probably groomed to such a terrible degree because The mother literally threw her daughter at S. She snot check her house or Maddie’s room for her shoes and items of clothes that were missing ?! How could Jenn not know that Maddy left for school with none of her shoes?! Or left with 1 croc only!? Is this not suspicious?! What is wrong with Jenn?!

Exactly and you would think a grown woman would have common sense to know that as a child you cannot initiate a relationship with an older person. That’s absolutely impossible. A child doesn’t just know to do certain things therefore they either were groomed into those things or are being abused. Either way she lacks common sense and that’s what’s infuriating!

Sounds like the mother blamed Maddie for what Sterns was doing to Maddie & she was jealous over it. I think Maddie was getting to the point where she was going to tell someone what was going on. If Sterns was abusing her while she was passed out maybe she didn't remember a lot of it. She went from being close to him to not liking him. She said he made her feel uncomfortable like that feeling was something new. He didn't make her feel uncomfortable before? Maddie stopped taking her meds which Sterns didn't know about initially so perhaps he tried something thinking she was passed out & Maddie was getting to the point of speaking out.

Those of us with kids with asthma are always making sure they have their rescue meds and any other meds should they need it, including their neb (even purchasing a small travel size neb they are able to carry with them for emergencies. We make sure we have the meds ahead of time and a second rescue inhaler in case one runs out or gets clogged. It is no joke, and countless people die of asthma attacks every day and they are also more susceptible to catching illnesses and take a lot longer to recover from because their inflammation in the lungs as well as the meds they require causing your immune system to be less effective. It's heartbreaking, absolutely heartbreaking what Madeline lived thru, I cannot entertain the thought that NO ONE KNEW.
    There had to BE SOMEONE.
AND her Mother should be held as accomplice. She handed her only child to a Monster, without a hint of hesitation.
NO ONE that loves their child would DARE let their young daughter sleep with a GROWN MAN that's not her Dad.
My daughter slept with me and her Dad, for the first 5 years of her life. She would curl up next to me, and before morning I would have a finger in my nose. Her Dad would have a toe in his nose, or A foot in his back! I would have an elbow in my face....
she rolled all over the bed! Most Dads are protective and love their daughters. They would never dream of hurting them.
But StepDads and Moms boyfriend, HAVE NO BIOLOGICAL PROGRAM to love the child.

They stick a wedge between mother and child while convincing the mom that she's not able to control the daughter so he will do it.
Dont trust without a hidden camera. If nothing ever happens you can rest easy. You never have to say a word but please dont believe your husband over your daughter. Especially if she's acting out.
If you take him to a councilor and they want to see you alone it's not because there's something wrong with you, maybe the therapist wants to get you alone to tell you something privately. Please don't be talked out of your suspicions. Please. Dont be jealous, he's not your man if he's doing that behind your back.

Most Dad's, don't. It's a sick man that does that, period. However, most Dad's are ultra protective, especially of their daughters.
We couldn't sleep , with our little one in our bed. Her Dad bought her a brand new bed, we painted her room a pretty light purple, and we had to lay down with her for the first few nights, but she got used to it. We put a baby monitor in her room too. She was just babied to the point of ridiculous. She's his only biological child. So, he gave her everything, and she did no wrong. She got her way with everything, no matter what.
He was killed when she was 11 years old. She misses him every minute of the day. She's 24 now, and talks about him all the time.
Everyone deserves a Daddy that truly loves and protects them.

Absolutely no way did her mother not know the grooming of her daughter had been going on for 5 plus years by this vile man . This is one of the most heartbreaking crimes against a minor I have ever come across ( although I know it goes on all over the world but to hear it read out point by point by G. Is terrifying) Poor Madeline if 8 years old wasn’t bad enough - 12 , 13 years of age is such a difficult tricky time for young males & females in regards to puberty and learning that these things are wrong I am wondering if perhaps his behaviour was about to be exposed by Madeline herself . Such a shame she couldn’t find a person in authority to confide in . Here in the Uk as part of the school curriculum children are taught life issues in I believe year 5 or 6 so at 10 or 11 years of age I think this is a great thing although again I believe parents can ask for their children to be excused from this . What a shame her mother couldn’t save her daughter , because I believe as I said she MUST of known something . Sleep well Madeline you did not deserve this . X x 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 😢😢
