Subzero and Gretsch gutiars: *stonks*
Subzero and Gretsch guitars: make good sellings
Bruh ST0NKS ON STÕNKZ
Was going to say; never really seen these guitars used in the type of music. Very cool!
I didnt think a Gretsch could sound this good. happy to be proven wrong
@@theproductd627 baritone man, they're like MADE for this music. Lol
Loathe, Spiritbox, Sleep Token. Post-pandemic tour. Make it happen.
I will survive the pandemic to die at a show on this tour.
YES
also static dress ;-)
@@behindthematch I had never heard of them until right now. Thank you.
I'd prefer Loathe, Code Orange, Portrayal of Guilt and Vein
We need the playthrough of "I let it in and it took everything"
HARD FAT MEGA AGREE
I second this!!!!
Third the fuck out of this
factsssss
This would save 2020
Cool guitar playing. But I’m gonna take a moment to say this:
These homies got some serious drip going on!
fr
This ain't the rap game bruh
They be looking like an indie band
@@diabeticmonkey drip is drip
What's drip
I've said this before, but I love how discordant their riffs are.
It sounds like every riff is made of "wrong notes", but they work *_so well._*
I agree but I think you meant dissonant my friend
Yea, almost like when Slayer Solos.
@castelhikari discordant works too. describes a bit of a different thing
@@matthewfateful
i dunno if that is dissonant or just a shitty guitar skills
@juser-abuser if you think there are shitty guitar skills on display here then you're very wrong
Subzero and Gretsch prices skyrocketin in 3, 2, 1 ....
subzero’s whole premise is being affordable, so i hope not
@@kingnary9th688 Yeah, know that. Squier jazzmasters used to be affordable before Loathe laid their stamp with them.
@@RojuOfficial i doubt Loathe had MUCH to do with that. maybe a little bit, but they're still not THAT big (although quite big) Squier only produced a small amount for a short amount of time. being one of the MORE EXPENSIVE Squier models, having a shortage of them is obviously gonna bump them up in price. especially since they're so sought after.
@@kingnary9th688 I know that. It is a combination of being discontinued and Loathe popularizing them among metal guitarists.
Baritone Guitar goes BRBRBRBRBRBRBRBBRBRBRBRBRBBRB
i'm back here just to see connor play 😔
😞
same :(
They did him dirty man. 😒
@@chadmichael_ I'm out of the loop, what happened?
@@sik_speedforce3546 The guitarist with the beanie left the band because of some drama. I don't want to speak on his behalf so I won't. Especially since he said he plans to open up about it at some point when the time is right but I've talked to him before and I know his departure wasn't a happy one.
Man you guys are really bringing aesthetic back into metal and rock.
These guys are machines. And no more Jazzmasters, haha. Now they not gonna be as rare. Cool seeing them using other baritones.
Hello
Do you know what they are?
@@benwierenga gretsch and sub zero. both very affordable baritones.
prs baritone is better i have 2 set up in drop A 72 Guage
I got a Jazzmaster Baritone, an Ibanez MMM1 and a PRS Mike Mushok. Out of all of them the PRS is my favorite. But it’s scale isn’t long enough to tune down to E and further like Loathe. That’s where the Jazzmaster, SubZero and Gretsch shine. Cos of their long scale length they can go super low. I’ve taken my Jazzmaster all the way down to B0 with some thick strings.
Man in the beanie has some of the best fashion sense I’ve ever seen. And of course both sound amazing!
So cool to see the SubZero Rogue VI used in this context.
I own one. Absolute bargain.
@@lew0013 yeah I have one too. Absolutely love it! I don't think I could play it quite as fiercely as they do though! ruclips.net/video/DLWvQceiw0w/видео.html
Still the best record of 2020.
forever

Nope! Protest The Hero - Palimpsest is better :)
@@rebelScience nope :)
These guys are The Beatles of metal music.
they've even got the John and Yoko Ono look going on
@@rorybninetythree Dj0hn and Y0k0 0n0
They are also from Liverpool which is like the same place as the Beatles
The guitar work in this song is spectacular.
Those guys look like their main business is robbing banks and music is just a hobby
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
lol
Hahaha
xD
literally, guy with the long hair looks like someone you'd find leading the PAYDAY gang. and beanie dude looks like his eclectic right-hand man
I have watched this SO many times.
PLs bring on some more playthroughs for the album. That was absolutely insane!
So many little intricacies in this tune. So glad yall did this. Time to learn it now!
Holy Hell those strings T H I C C
T H I C C strings for T H I C C riffs
factual
Super Thicc
The thicccliest
I straight up thought they were playing 6 string basses at first
We miss you Connor
I love the fact that they are playing the new Gretsch Baritone and the New SubZero Rogue baritone, Both guitars I have seriously thought about buying. Great to see them get properly put through their paces!
“You can’t play a Gretsch like that”
Erik: Hold my beer
No rules
Been having a think about Connors look and I've figured it out. He's going for that dude from the film Leon
I just bought the Sub Zero guitar about a minute after watching this video. Holy fuck lads
Gonna wait for your review before i get mine ;)
You won't see that for 6 months :(
Just saw it. Amazing!
I take it back :)
@@rowanb4395 Now I want one and it's harder to get than a PS5
How many more times am i gonna watch this?
Still blows my mind that I Let It In is the only SharpTone album that made it big outside the hardcore/metalcore community to outlets like RYM, TheNeedleDrop and Pitchfork, and this playthrough is proof
i'm sure putting those strings on a Gretsch is illegal somewhere
seriously, i saw erik with it and had to do a double take to make sure i wasn't seein shit.
that's what that model is built for. it's kinda gnarly.
He’s actually using a baritone Gretsch so I guess it’s supposed to have that type of strings
Baritone bridge cabels lol
probably using filtertrons so it still has really good string clarity on lower tunings while still being HBs so you don't get BZZZ when you crank the game. pretty smart. Generally for heavy stuff you want big HBs for D/E maybe C tuning and anything below you want more clarity, so brighter pickups can really work for that, you're kind of balancing out the low end basically, higher tunings = more oomph from the pickup, lower = more clarity. Reason why these guys used a JM for so long.
If I saw these dudes come up in a session, I would've thought they would be playing some indie stuff.... then getting smacked in the face when they start.
Is it legal to play a Gretsch like that?
been listening to this band for a few weeks now, and thought the same thing. if i were to hear a raw recording with no band image, i would assume they used a 7-8 string ibanez or something. nope, Gretsch! and whatever subzero is, i love it!
@@phylazen5649 I love when bands use classic looking instrument for modern music! Subzero is a super cheap guitar brand so I’m surprised he used it for the video!
@@TheSeaUponUs £300 out of stock, wouldn't call them super cheap now xD
@@Strutsss I think they’re out of stock thanks to them hahaha
LOATHE IS MY FAVORITE BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I wish I could like this however many times I’ve watched it
I absolutely NEED a playthrough on the title track. That song numbs me inside in the best way. It's so FUCKING HEAVY.
I literally own both these guitars and use them for my own music and just shat myself with excitement watching this. Recognition for great instruments from an excellent band
These dudes; fresh.
Guitar play through; crisp.
this video has lived rent free in my head this whole last week.
Leon the Professional Guitarist
the drip that these two have is top tier, amazing playthrough and it was fun to see the new guitars haha
Worldwide Heavy Scene: *this is how you write music*
Loathe: *na*

I wanna know who their guitar tech is, that man has some fucking
K N O W L E D G E.
I’d be surprised if they have one. These guys do almost everything themselves. they recorded and produced this whole album themselves
@@ultrawolflord8495 no, they didn't.
@@nsimonsen63 yeah they did, they sent it off to get mixed and mastered that’s it.
@@leon-cg1rg super common, but still impressive nonetheless. The instrumental version of this album which just came out shows how many layers each track has
Why would they need a tek? To file out a nut, change intonation a little, put thick strings on then down tune? If people pay other people to do that for them, then I'm in the wrong line of work.
This is the best unexpected present I've gotten in a while 🔥
I love how unique this band is
so happy to see guitarists with good fashion sense
Guy with 2 years of practice, no band and a 20 quid practice amp: £3000 guitar
Guy in Loathe, one of the most exciting heavy acts to come out of the UK: gear4music
But in all seriousness it's quite a nice looking guitar and it just goes to show that talent can make any instrument regardless of the price shine.
dude, i went to the brighton show, Erik used a fucking L6 POD. unreal
Tab book when?!?!
This is the only present I need this year.
This is the happiest day of my life
Yes the boys. 💜 amazing I hope to see more playthroughs
Guitar ones for other tracks would be amazing as a guitarist but I feel the drummer deserves some love too xx
Sean Radcliffe is underrated as hell. He's truly the glue that holds this band together and he even wrote the guitar riffs for some of the songs on the newest album. Loathe really is just a band brimming with talent.
@@DJENTISNTNOTAGENRE oh damn didn’t know that about writing riffs 👀 but yeah he’s so underrated, a lot seem to just gloss over him and that’s why I feel giving him the spotlight would be great to see
@@stevennixon6930 I agree! Yeah, he wrote either most or all of the riffs for Screaming, Is It Really You? and A Sad Cartoon.
A new dimension this band playing vintage double low E metal in my eyes tbh
This riff is probably my favorite
ALWAYS UP FOR SOME LOATHE. These are some of the most talented guitarists out there 👍
Those are bass strings on a guitar! haha, this is awesome!
My new favorite band, nice work gentlemen!
Nice that Leon The Professional is still alive and changed careers
Perfect choice of guitars !
Now I hear so much new stuff
Right? The mix is so dense on the album that I could barely hear what they are playing during certain parts. Nice to finally hear all the riffs crystal clear.
Wasn't expecting to see my bass (SubZero Rogue VI) in this video, but I'm glad it is
I love how you can pick up one of the guitars used in this video for £250
Best album of 2020 for sureee
MON THE BOYS, heavy never looked so fresh !
This sound is the next level.
I let it in and it took everything > Ohms
An honest personal opinion from a die hard deftones fan
I absolutely hate when people call Loathe another Deftones. Clearly there's so much more to this band's sound. I just don't understand why people settle for that utterly lazy description.
The only Deftones sounding song Loathe got is Two Way Mirror, and even that sounds even more “ambient” than Deftones, people like to label everything and they are really shit at it. Loathe is one of the most if not the most unique sounding band I’ve ever came across, and believe me, I hear a lot of new music everyday.
I hate that, too! Do they have a clear Deftones influence? Sure. Are they exactly alike? Not even close.
I know I hate it, I almost done even hear the similarities cuz IMO I don’t think they sound anything like deftones
I am a huge Deftones fan but honestly the new Loathe record is better than anything Deftones has put out since Diamond Eyes imo. It's a masterpiece.
Deftones are one of my favorite bands, but Loathe are on a different level than anyone in the game, you cant even compare Ohms to I Let It In.
Everything about this is a whole vibe holy shit
OH MY FUCKING GOD I NEED MORE
PLEASE DO NEW FACES IN THE DARK
I'D PAY SO MUCH FOR A THE COLD SUN INSTRUMENTAL RELEASE AS WELL
When London Fashion Week is hosted by Kerrang! Jokes aside, love the riffs and inventiveness of it all.
you guys are good song writers
Back here for my daily rewatch
loathe it's my favorite tone of dark
YESSSSS PLEASE MORE OF THESE THANK YOU
Dem massive baritones with thick ass piano strings
This is why ILIIAITE is my album of the year
I come back here every once and a while just for those awesome pirate shoes 😂
Awesome cover!!! 👏You guys should be in a band together!
Everyone take notes because these dudes are the new faces of metal and every band is going to try and emulate them in the next year
Hell yesssss!!! please release ILIIAITE instrumentals!!!!!
Gonna miss Connor in the band. Feel like maybe he wasn't given much opportunity to be a creative mind in this band.
Wait he left the band?
@@wllulu yeah a few months back
@@wllulubad blood between him and the guys in loathe. He said something like they're not good people? Not indirectly like that but from the way he talks about it.
@@joshguy5221 he didn't get much creative input in the last record and was more or less a backing/touring guitarist. I can see why he left bitter, major success and no recognition
@@BetaBreaking I can definitely tell this song is his. There's definitely a reason they don't play certain songs live anymore.
Heavvyy, sounding like a Doom soundtrack 🤘🏻
Sometimes I unlike this video, just so i can RE like it.
Love the little liberty in some Parts that make this stand apart from the Instrumental Album version.
Just like that. It officially doesn't matter how much your guitar costs or what brand it is. Just DO IT
These guys don't get enough recognition
