Fantastic guide mate, just started Guild Wars 2 as I've been looking for a new MMO to get into myself and now this has dropped, currently deciding if I should buy early access today for 33 bucs or hold off until the next influx of players come in on full release this Tuesday.
great video man, well thought out and put together! figured i'd try it out on release and wanted to find out a bit more about the game. not too keen on the gearing system and p2w/monetisation system, i think that will be the games downfall unfortunately.. but with the social aspect and GvG systems in place it should give the game some longevity through player made content. apprehensively excited to give it a go!
I have watched streams of this game and it seems it's at the foundation and core a REALLY solid MMORPG, it has a lot of fun content, great world, plenty of world interactions, plenty of dungeons, bosses, challenges, plenty of instanced and world PvP opportunities, the actual gameplay itself looks fun, character building looks solid, etc. BUT, here comes the massive but: you can immediately tell how everything is set up for potential paywalls. Individual leveling of gear and skills, currency/resource time gating, lots of RNG in gear progression and upgrading, regenerating resources for dungeons and looting rights, etc. You just KNOW they're gonna be adding all sorts of paid resource refreshes, paid gear/skill upgrading and resetting, etc. And before anyone goes with the typical "but it's free2pay, they gotta make money somehow" corporate bootlicking, the point is just that the game has a heavy emphasis on PvP and when you have to grind hardcore for several months for gear that people can just 'whale' their way into by spending 2000 USD, they're gonna be giving you a VERY hard time in PvP and it's gonna cause issues in PvE too (think about the recruitment selection and player exclusion mess this is gonna create). I would rather pay a 15/month subscription having 100% full equal opportunity with every other player, than the revenue relying on big spenders who will make the entire game unfun, even for light spenders. Yes, I know currently the game doesn't have any crazy pay2win stuff yet, but you also gotta understand that all current players bought founder editions for early access, which already gives the basic microtransaction stuff and predatory monetization doesn't usually get added until they have baited enough people into playing their game weeks and months later, we have seen this so many times before. Original ArchAge was a big example of this. The game simply has too many obvious 'paywallable' progression mechanics built in.
"Its ok to pay a monthly sub but not to pay once to have gear faster" makes no sense to me, also there is nothing behind a paywall as you stated, all the fkn content is free to play
I really don’t imagine anyone has ever seen a cut scene while Fast traveling what you do see though is loading screens sometimes depending on how laggy the server is or how good your gear is you do see loading screens. You have to see loading screens unless your gear is so good and your Internet connection is so good that you instantaneously move and even then You see an intro and an animation on the beginning and end of it and if there’s even a split second of lag you see a loading screen with a swirly vortex cut scenes are cinematics used in storytelling. You won’t see us a cut scene on any fast travel in any game anywhere not even in games on older hardwarewhere the fast travel took seconds you don’t see cut scenes you see loading screens.
I rather spend time vs money ... If they just make a game great people won't mine investing time with a subscription... I believe that is still the best model for overall player to game health... Look at the games that are based on subscription.. they are thriving
As a lost ark 2000+ hours player this sounds expensive. VERY expansive if you want to keep up again get into a good guild lol It will say it was a very fun community. You start out saying you'll be ftp... reach end game and end up spending hundreds or even thousands to keep up. It's a black hole.
Really good and open video my man. I was wondering on 1 thing tho since i come from WoW Retail. I really like the idea to have a single char being able to play all classes like new world, ffxiv and here on TnL. But i have heard somemention it can be punishing to change classes. Is this true in youre perspective? if so, how? :D
I’ve been watching reviews and this is the only one I’ve seen saying anything about pvp it seems odd that people don’t want to mention that it’s a pvp focused game probably don’t want to scare people away. Everything else sounds like it’s a pretty good game.
No, it’s not at all for people who wanna play the game for a long time if you’re loving like a character, the leveling pass gives you lots of extra loot. If you do choose to play the game for a long time anytime up until the battle pass ends you can buy it and and catch up and get all the loot Doesn’t really have anything to do with whether you choose to play for a long time but if you’re going to play past the end of the battle pass, then you might as well buy the battle pass to be fair. If you’re starting out at a new season, you probably have enough time to level up to 40 to get into the auction house earn enough money selling trades to buy the battle pass without spending real moneyand it starts the leveling fast goes. You can only buy that once anyway anyone any character can buy it once and that’s it.
It’s not here is the easiest for new players. It’s not until you get all your green gear upgraded into blue gear that it starts getting a little more complex in that you know the only way to get blue let the grass is to buy them. Someone asked to take a weapon and turn it into a lithograph and you have to buy it on the auction. That’s the only way I know of so it becomes a little more complex but leveling it up is exactly the same you level up your green level six, then when you get a blue to replace it, you transfer that green into the blue when you level the blue all the way up to level six you transferred into the purple There’s no complexity there. It’s quite simple. The one thing you wanna keep in mind is don’t transfer it until you’ve maxed out its level because every bit of experience you put into it will transfer trading your gear putting trades on. It gets more difficult at higher levels, but not more complex.
Im curious to see how the RMT auction house shakes out. It works fine, great actually, in Warframe. But im wondering if that has more to do with the player base developing a culture of shaming people who try to get too greedy
Man it looks fantastic, everything I like except the p2w.. It's not an iffy slope, it's just blatant p2w lol. Not for me sadly. Love the video, thanks so much for sharing!
solid review man ! the thing with vertical and horizontal is very very tricky, for example me and my guildies just couldnt play gw2 for too long the horizontal gear there just killed it for us, but as it seems to be here it's also not good. I think a good system would be something that you can be around 80% of the gear the old players have within a month of playing. since with that you can compete, but having to play 6 months just to have a chance will be pretty much a killer for new players ( thinking about bdo before they added some tiered content but even then it's daunting)
You get going through the tower. The first time is not the reason to do the tower. The reason to do the tower is you get contracts for various bosses in the tower? Maybe that’s not in the eastern version but it’s in the western that the global release has it. I’ve already went in and completed some of them even though I haven’t been to the top of the tower I’ve went in and done some of the contracts I have for the tower for levels. I’ve already cleared. There’s no reason to go in the tower twice besides the contracts cause you don’t get loot you only get loot the first time just for completing the level if you go in after that, the only loot you get is if there’s a contract.
One thing that may lose me its the fact I bought some Lucents and I cant even use them in Auction House. I was searching for a solution but many people have the same issue and no fix. I mean I just spent real money and I can't do shit with it I got the battle pass but now I have 3k Lucents sitting around. Tried waiting for 3 days but still no luck, its very very very stupid. If they don't fix this I can see many lawsuit coming their way since a lot of people are angry about this... It's basically a teft at this point...
I think what’s important is you put 500 hours in the Korean version and rn we are not playing the Korean version Amazon changed up some of the things going on
people complain about the p2w but it allows f2p players to earn premium currency to buy the battlepass etc, similar to warframe which has the best p2w model of any game
It’s not even showcasing. The global release is showcasing the eastern release because we don’t have any of that. There are no tier 2 dungeons yet there’s no tier to anything yet in the global release. I think it’s coming soon but it’s not out yet.
Yes, none of that exist. There are no resident stones. There’s no rooms or room synergy. None of that is in the global release at this point maybe it’ll come down the road maybe we’ll reach some kind of equilibrium between the eastern and western release, but we’re not there yet there’s no T2 gear or any T2 dungeonsthe highest gear score needed to enter anywhere is I believe 1600 maybe
Really good vid bro, and really good vibes also. Subbed to your channel, keep it up 😊❤️ Ps: The fact that you’re streaming from that van is awesome haha
Well, 500 hours? From 1 hour playing I could already tell it's another Korean game port with nothing new and engaging, with another PTW model. What I can say about this with a little experience in Game Dev is that today they share a very similar engine build for this type of game, that runs the same plugins for interface, graphics, assets, animations and stuff. For a simple analogy, it's like you buy something like a BDO base game engine, and then you modify and create different mechanics and lore on top of it. It's really not that expansive to make it, and requires a much smaller team. It's a low risk business model, that even if the game completely dies in 2 months, it is still worth to make it from a $ point o view. That's why they don't bother to go for a "free to play" model, it is because it's not like this is coming from a dedicated and passionate team of artists who value their hard work for years of development. They can simply do another game that dies in 2 months and still make a lot of money from it. And please, don't get me wrong, If you're still having fun playing this game is totally fine! This is only based in my opinion, and if playing this game brings you and your friends some quality time together, you should definitely do it and have some fun, that is all that matters!
I don't touch pvp 90% of the time. is this game worth my time as a pve player. Is there enough content to be worth my time, or is it another albion online with forced pvp.
The PvE missions all seem to be fetch and delivery missions. Go to X and collect 3 Y,s. Occasionally an enemy will populate during the delivery, but no real puzzles or anything that I’ve run into. I’m like level 35rn.

@@Danneh 🤣🤣 Right on man. I do have a game boost option on my bios at least. So hopefully that will be efficient enough. I run FFXIV fairly smoothly with my current set up, so fingers crossed for TL
@@Danneh One other quick question I just thought about: Just from your experience, how is the community? And is there a lot of annoying spamming in the chat log like you will experience in WoW?
I kind of wonder if this is worth playing if one has no intention of joining a Guild (I'm already in a FFXIV FC and FFXIV won't stop being my main MMO in the foreseeable future) and just wants to play it casually from time to time. It sounds like there's not much here for casual players, but I'm also aware that obviously all the content that's out right now skews a bit more hardcore.

I was so excited. started to dig in to the game. PvP focused. open world? -portals. ATLEAST some P2W.. maps LOOK big.. i installed New World nd started playing that even before Aeternum comes.. :D
Nice set up man, just found your channel, your living the dream brotha.
Not enough positive people in the MMO world, really enjoyed your enthusiasm and joy. Most the videos feel like people trying to find a new reason to whine.. Love it!
I want to thank you for the TLDR review. Honestly, you have my L&S just for that elemnt of this video. That being said, you saved me a download because i cant stand the idea of a P2W PVP focused game lol.
just a heads up never seen you b4 but you got my sub right away for the TLDR getting to the point . i did stick around for the rest of the review. . also Vanlifer!! respect.
Appreciated mate! 💪🏻🙏🏼
Fantastic guide mate, just started Guild Wars 2 as I've been looking for a new MMO to get into myself and now this has dropped, currently deciding if I should buy early access today for 33 bucs or hold off until the next influx of players come in on full release this Tuesday.
I was expecting you to have a million subs man, great overview!
Vid was so good HAD TO SUB thanks for the great content
Thank you mate! Welcome!
great video man, well thought out and put together! figured i'd try it out on release and wanted to find out a bit more about the game.
not too keen on the gearing system and p2w/monetisation system, i think that will be the games downfall unfortunately.. but with the social aspect and GvG systems in place it should give the game some longevity through player made content.
apprehensively excited to give it a go!
been looking for new MMO for a while now, i got to say that this game looks fun, cant wait till 1st october to try it, thx for the guide!
You make a god darn game than and add those features it's a flipping video game mate enjoy or don't but at the end of the day it's not that serious
"Its ok to pay a monthly sub but not to pay once to have gear faster" makes no sense to me, also there is nothing behind a paywall as you stated, all the fkn content is free to play
Very thorough and informing, thank you good sir :)
So much fur! You are a very majestic man.
😂 getting ready for the winter!
Let's get it bro! Great video!
Great Video. I think i will continue playing Old School Runescape
1st time here, and damn you are one of the most OUT DOOR gamers I've seen. What the heck, I'm doing it WRONG haha.
the grind sounds insane but if its good i dont mind throwing 10 bucks in for the BP. The endgame content looks great
This video basically said "Don't invest in this game if you can't $$$invest$$$ in this game."
I know its super old but the gearing system in this seems very similar to that in FFX you get empty slot items to put the good traits into.
Really good and open video my man. I was wondering on 1 thing tho since i come from WoW Retail. I really like the idea to have a single char being able to play all classes like new world, ffxiv and here on TnL. But i have heard somemention it can be punishing to change classes. Is this true in youre perspective? if so, how? :D
Its not a review, its à guide with opinions!
The more i look into this game the more complicated it seems to me. Especially when everyone says if you mess up it will be punishing.
I’ve been watching reviews and this is the only one I’ve seen saying anything about pvp it seems odd that people don’t want to mention that it’s a pvp focused game probably don’t want to scare people away. Everything else sounds like it’s a pretty good game.
Great video! Thanks, I learned a lot :)
This is definitely a credit card game sadly...
Really great video man, appreciate all the work and thorough explanations!
Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment mate! Appreciate that 🙏🏼
fantastic video, ive downloaded the game and am loving it
Agreed with power gap. This game will be perfect if they do that. You can only attack 5 levels below and 5 above you.
how come i got atacked by lvl 50s as lvl 17 during beta testing?
Dude do you really live in that setup? Im amazed, new subscriber here my boy
Is it more PVP focused than Black Desert?
Super helpful! Thank you
Im curious to see how the RMT auction house shakes out. It works fine, great actually, in Warframe. But im wondering if that has more to do with the player base developing a culture of shaming people who try to get too greedy
Got here for the review, subscribed by the lifestyle
Man it looks fantastic, everything I like except the p2w.. It's not an iffy slope, it's just blatant p2w lol. Not for me sadly. Love the video, thanks so much for sharing!
Love the camper van dream ❤ such q cool idea
The game uses.
Unreal Engine 4.27
solid review man ! the thing with vertical and horizontal is very very tricky, for example me and my guildies just couldnt play gw2 for too long the horizontal gear there just killed it for us, but as it seems to be here it's also not good. I think a good system would be something that you can be around 80% of the gear the old players have within a month of playing. since with that you can compete, but having to play 6 months just to have a chance will be pretty much a killer for new players ( thinking about bdo before they added some tiered content but even then it's daunting)
What classes do you think are the most powerful??
Cheers I'll give it a chance and a good go while willingly participating as the game intends
He lives in a van down by the river
DOWN BY THE RIVER
Another player won't tell me how to play the way I want, no matter if it's a guild leader lol. I love side quest
Good luck and have fun
this aint game for you then
@@Pardeux okay 🤣
The right way, that's why I usually just go into a game blind. I don't need my gratification for gaming anymore.
Why would you play a game where others tell you how to play it lol@@Pardeux
Many have been training their credit cards for this day. Contestants will scream & plastic will fly. May the strongest cards win. FIGHT!
This game reminds me of guild wars 2.
It has a lot of nice similarities for sure, well worth a try even on the F2P launch and not early access
Hi, NICE Video 👍 What kind of top internet do you have in your van For streaming?? I haven‘ t that good connection at home😢 thx
Thanks mate! We use Starlink + x2 4G, it doesn’t always work as planned haha
Im still on the fence... How much is the P2W factor? How much is the battlepass (cheapest version of course you know me..)
I don't know you 😂
@@MrRadamantz are you supposed to? 👀🤣
Confirmed, I am gonna pass on this game. Great video.
Cool content 🤙🏼
Why no chapter about the Combat? Being a mainly PvP game, that could make or break the game. Or did i miss it? Lol
Really good vid bro, and really good vibes also. Subbed to your channel, keep it up 😊❤️ Ps: The fact that you’re streaming from that van is awesome haha
great review great dude!!!
This is only based in my opinion, and if playing this game brings you and your friends some quality time together, you should
definitely do it and have some fun, that is all that matters!
Concerning an event like Castle siege, what would you say would be recommendable for a PC set up? I'm still running an i5 Intel processor with a GTX 1070, and only 16 gb of RAM. What's your thoughts for something like that?
@@faithgiant_Ps91 you would need to run everything on minimal and you SHOULD be okay but it’s gotta be on full low haha
New subscriber. I’m looking forward to it on ps5. Just hope I can remember what to do. Seems a lot to remember.
"swiping and starts gearing" ya I'm good thx for letting me know
The game looks awesome and I was already installing it, but decided to stop the download while watching this.. I don't like p2w and overall the game looks waaay too complicated
This game looks awesome? What are u using bro, tell me. Lol 😂😂
holy wall! How big is your monitor ?
I WANT to be excited for this game but knowing that it's NCSoft and Korean means we all know exactly wjat we're getting 😢
What’s a J where would I find a J on my controller?
Wow, looks like a really nice / cool game. However, as I tend to play solo, healer, PVE it appears that it might not be for me
Try Wand/Bow… can do some damage and some healing and you should be good to go!!
Perfect Review!
Maybe its just me but i absolutely hated the first song on background, its like someone is screaming on your ear. Especially if you listen at 1.5-2x speed.. other than that nice tldr
It was horrible. Most of the music & story telling is major cringe.
So it's Pay 2 Win PVP, the Review was really good, thanks!
