Personally feel that as a guitarist, Gary was the Greatest of all Time. I wouldnt have picked the guitar up if it wasnt for the album Still Got the Blues. He is greatly missed.

An absolute legend of a guitarist. I saw this Monsters of Rock tour in Cardiff and he was by far the best act between Y&T and Whitesnake. WE WANT MOORE!!! RIP Gaz!
@@malcleese9667 Agreed! Whitesnake was so distorted compared to live shows ive seen on RUclips since. Saw Gary Moore again in Bristol not too long after the Cardiff show when he did the Scars show. Shame there's not too many shows like it anymore. All the good rock artists are all but gone now. Although I saw Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Alice Cooper in the last few years. Those are good ear splitting shows if you ever get the chance to go to either one.

He might have been supporting Whitesnake but he sure had the coollest bassist in Cass Lewis! Awesome guitar man...saw him play 3 times in an 18 month purple patch for me. Sometimes he was better than others - but never bad! The very first time was when he had G Force back in the 80's and he was supporting (the best version of) Whitesnake back then. RIP. Still sorely missed! There will never be another like him.....

Gary was a guitar genius. He could play many genres of music at an unbelievable level. Are you only a genius if you compose a great song. I don't think so. I love Pagey and can appreciate Blackmore, sorry but neither are up to Gary's standard on a six string..fact !

Thank you for the upload, of course many Thin Lizzy fans know this song, have seen other versions, especially the "Tribute, Live from Dublin" where Gary "Smugly" says "this song" there is the Slow version (Which he did) and the "Fast Version" which ROBO (Brian Robertson had the "Cajones", to tell Phil, this song is crap, it needs to be more Rock) . Thus, the Fast or Rock version.. And Gary says: "It Goes like this" Meaning, he is going to totally Kill both versions and melt your face... I love them both in one song and that is what made this band absolutely "Untouchable" in the 70's, Kids, just do a deep dive on how many guitar shredders were in this band... Gary is unmatched, but you had Eric Bell in the beginning, then the American came in (Very underrated) Scott Gorham who played on most of the hits in the "Hey day". Robo of course, "John Sykes" later of "White snake, Blue Murder" was in the last lineup... Snowy White on the Renegade album, great underrated album also...Phil had confidence, only wanted the best "Shredders" around him. RIP, Phil, Gary.... I like his slow version of this song, better than Lizzy's slow version. However, the uptempo version from Lizzy's classic lineup, in my opinion, is the definitive version.
Gary's guitar work is the best be it fast or slow. The only way this could get better is if Phil was on the stage with Gary. The shows up in heaven must be incredible.
