That Pop Up Parade Rengoku though! I laugh each time I see it! His face looks like the Grinch lol! But great vid as well! Would be interested to see what else you have on PO
Haha I can't unsee Rengoku's face now 😆 Thanks! Yes I got my Nov 2021 anime haul video dropping soon and Nov News video to update what figures I'll be unboxing and on PO!
Nice guide! based on my experience, prize figures are a mixed bag of good and bad especially when it comes to Banpresto. Details are not that good (at least compared to scales), sometimes the final product is different from the prototype, also those plain black bases are ugly. But there are still good figures considering they are the cheapest figures available, some are even better than PUPs. Due to the cheap prices of these figures, they will multiply like mushrooms and most likely one will run out of space fast. Pop Up Parades are a step above prizes but still a hit or miss products, poses mostly are boring and bases are ugly as well. They are also on the small side scale wise (maybe around 1/9 or 1/10 scale), though they are not scaled. I guess the size helps when it comes to detailing to maintain the price. I can say that these are watered-down versions of scales (both in size and detail) and are perfect if you don't feel the need for prize figures and don't want to shell out a lot of cash for scales. Scale figures are the best when it comes to size and details, but they come at a very steep price although for me, they are worth it. But not all scales are created equal that is why one must do enough research before buying one. For scales that are already released, I usually visit myfigurecollection for feedbacks from owners. And for PO's, just keep those fingers crossed and hope that the final product comes exactly as the prototype. My final thoughts, go with whatever you want to collect, there are good prize figures (some are even on the level of scales when it comes to details and sizes). If you are really serious when it comes to collecting and you have the extra dough, go with scales as they are really worth it. And PUPs are great in-betweens. PS. I hope you can also cover the Ichibanshos/Ichiban Kuji/MSP lines as they are a great upgrade from the usual prize figures though they are still considered prize figures.
Thanks for your thoughts! Learnt a bit as well! Definitely agree on many of your points! Yeah the ones I skipped was both lack of experience with those figure (Ichibansho) and for time, as the video kept taking longer and longer to make… My intention is to make a few more of these quick start guides and there’s room to do each of those figure category as a stand alone video!
@@Awarsing You are right, one short video can't cover everything when it comes to our hobby. But your video is a great help for all of us especially those who wants to start or just starting this hobby. Anyways, my first figure is an Ichiban Kuji Zoro (Masterlise Best Edition) and I kid you not, it goes toe to toe with my scales.
@@cheeseninja7743 Ooh I see! I'll have to search it up that figure! Yes its always a battle between making an epic long video to how helpful it will be for the target audience!
Been collecting PAK figures. Expensive and generally good though every once in a while a face or head sculpt can look a bit off. I love the stuff Kotobukiya and Good Smile puts out. Koto recently did a Mai Shiranui Bishojo figure and she looks great though is a bit glossy. I have the Pop Up Parade Chun-Li and Cammy on preorder. They look like they will be good affordable figures.
Great to hear! Yeah PAK prices have been eating into my budget so I've dropped it out Indeed both Kotobukiya and Good Smile do pretty high quality figures, for most part you get what you pay for. For PAK I feel I'm paying a premium just to own the character...
I find most PopUp Parade has a better paint and build finish on the figure where Banpresto, the paint finish is a mixed bag, with some areas only painted in one colour
I'm curious about what you think of nendoroids. They're kinda my latest obsession at the moment lol. Do you own one? If not, have you ever thought of getting one?
Haha yes I think Nenodriods look great and I like all the options you have with face plates and accessories. Atlas I chose not to dive into it or I’ll run out of money and space 🤣 I may consider collecting if I switch to collecting only PopUp Parades
It's a shame that after half of 2022 Pop Up Parade has increased the price from 3900 to 4800 yen, and the quality it's a bit fluctuating. Now not always the price difference from prize figures is justificate, especially with Taito and Sega Luminasta that have release some figure really amazing in cost/quality .
Agreed! The prize figure is getting better! Will see with the new batches of Pop Up Parade to see if they're getting more consistent with their quality
A good place to start is Big Bad Toy Store: www.bigbadtoystore.com/ That's the main site I use to reference for upcoming prize figures for pre-order. ======= I generally find Banpresto, SEGA and Taito have official license sellers in each country. In Australia I use Kaika and Anime on Abbortsford: www.kaika.com.au/ www.anime-oz.com/

the quality of these are amazing
Thank you!
awesome video
do pop up parade really not make more of a figure once they run out?
recently started to collect some
Thanks!
From what I've seen they may sometime do a re-release, but they're few and far in-between...

Good information 👍
Thanks!
Good video, it helped me, although I watched it in subtitles😅, I don’t know English well, thanks for suggesting to watch your geek review
Thank you!
Your English is great! I'm happy the subtitles to be there to help!
So what's the difference between banpresto and pop up parade figures

Where can I pre-order the prize figures? Seems like most famous sites not having full list or only having them after released.
A good place to start is Big Bad Toy Store:
www.bigbadtoystore.com/
That's the main site I use to reference for upcoming prize figures for pre-order.

Sega figures on my opinion have the best pose... and the worst god damn paint job ! 😅
That’s a good point ☺️
