Just starting out. Looking at the SIMPSON PowerShot PS60869 4000 PSI at 3.5 GPM HONDA GX270. Budget is a huge consideration. Would you say this is a good start up rig?
Appreciate your straight forward advice. I have the gear I have. Market myself and worry about upgrades when the opportunity presents itself. Do work!!!
You can set up a 4 GPM unit on a skid mount instead of a cart mount and plumb it like you would the 8 GPM. However, the 8 will be actually 4 times faster even if you had hose management for for a 4 GPM unit. Also, the same pumps that are mounted on belt drive systems can also be mounted as gear drive using a gear reduction box. The real major difference is reduced wear on the pump and engine giving you more life from your system.

Gear drive sucks water exactly like a belt drive. Gear reduction runs @1750. Belts @1450. I’ve been running gear driven machines for 12 years now. Never going back to belts. A DIRECT drive unit runs @3600, and they will suck water if plumbed correctly.

Alright man. I'm completely new to this. But I'm tired of working at shit dead end jobs. I have not much money. Can you give me a tip where to start?
This will be in the Q&A book, answer too long.
I see it's been asked a few times with no response. What is the smallest buffer tank you would go with for an 8gpm machine? Love the set up.
250
@@AaronsLeanMeanAcademy So thats the capacity of a 240 L plastic bin.
@@thegreatergood6648 liters is not gallons
4 is good 8 is better but i built my own 26.5hp EFI Koller rigs with belt drive Legacy 10.4 gpm machines. Now were in the rhelm of how fast can you walk? LOL. Right, speed is money.
Dammmm
@@AaronsLeanMeanAcademy gonna be hooking it up to my Mondo Force 49 when it shows up. I do alot of 3 to 5k sq ft restaurant patios. This will cut my time in half from my WW HD 19"
Problem is, if i dont have the equipment then marketing is tough. I mean, dont i need before and after pics for website, Google, and Facebook etc, etc...?
Rent
@@AaronsLeanMeanAcademy thanks for the reply. I have already built my 8 gpm trailer, (well i should say bought the stuff to build it. Haven't actually built it yet.) and have about $3000 left for marketing. Will the link for your web guys in this video get me the discount i have heard you talk about in some of your other videos? And do i need before and after pics before i contact them?
@@lesnewjr yea but saddle up for the long haul though. Don’t commit if $174 mo is “a lot” for you cause websites take time. But no, you don’t “need” B&A photos on the front end.
@@AaronsLeanMeanAcademy thanks so much for the info and for what you do on your vids. I want to take your course but think im going to concentrate on marketing at the moment. Of course im sure you hit that in your class. Sorry for all the questions, but how much you think i need for marketing to start off? I may have enough for your course and a little marketing.
Is that a Honda pressure washer?
They're Honda motors. And they are very common in pressure washers as they are pretty much the most reliable small engines out there.
He is saying gear drive, did he.mean direct drive? I thought gear drive does draw water well?
Yes. It’s a common slip up. Gear Reduction is closer to belt drive than direct drive. He meant direct
Question, what kind of licencing do you need before you can advertise with a website in the state of florida?
Not sure about Florida. But not sure there would be a license for advertising.

On your 8gpm, do you use 3/8 or 1/2 hose? Alot of old school guys swear by the 1/2 inch once you bump up to 8gpm.
@@platinumhawkpw 3/8 , you're still putting the water through a reduced tip. But 1/2 for first 50 ft from pump can allow a better pressure release helping with unloader longevity, and give better DS injector suction, if you want to do that. I just never cared that much.
Gear drive sucks water exactly like a belt drive. Gear reduction runs @1750. Belts @1450. I’ve been running gear driven machines for 12 years now. Never going back to belts. A DIRECT drive unit runs @3600, and they will suck water if plumbed correctly.
You sould start with a 2.5 gpm and learn how to use it properly. Take your time. Then when you buy a more powerful when you know what you r doing.
Most home spigots do not even pump out 8 gallons a minute and I’m not about to spend $25,000 for a truck and a 500 gallon tote my 5.8 gallon cat pump is more than enough. 8gpm is a waste dude
Lol you Wildin.
@@AaronsLeanMeanAcademy lol just saying buddy. 8gpm is a waste for most people
Fish don't fry in the kitchen and beans dont burn on the grill
Ricky run a 8gpm and cut that check back to the customer
🤘🤘🤘
Leads are what run a truck if you don't have people buying from you there no need in equipment it's about like walking around with a suit and tie and your not a salesman or work at a bank. You can buy all the equipment you want if it's not making money it's just going to be like a sore eye in the driveway youll be selling it in a few years
Damn right
@@AaronsLeanMeanAcademy been thinking about getting into pressure washing everybody I know owns a business and me in a factory there's no more need in it for me
@@todhollandsworth4371 then its time
I've never seen a 8gpm washer for less then $4500, 5gpm gets you up into the $1500 to $1800 already. Seems prices have gone up a lot!
inflation for ya
Check out Doug Rucker store.. not sure what model exactly. But just saw 8gpm. With Honda engine and electric start for $3200 and change!
@@jonathanhavel1036 I'll write that down. Thanks Brother!
@@bUwUmer1260 your welcome! I think the ones on powerwash.com are better.. but that's what I'm trying to figure out. They look like truck bed mount systems.. but you can add a wheel kit and Honda engine. but dam $5400!

I did.

I want to like this guys videos...but they all just seem to turn into bragging and little to do with the intended info..
7 to 30 grand? Come on Man!
Which part?
I'm just sayin, you said if you got 7 to 30 grand to get started. That's a huge difference. Lol. I enjoy your videos. I was going lawn maintenance. Been planning on that for 15 years. And I ran across a pressure washing video just this week. And I have done a 180 and now I'm all about the pressure washing route. Moving back down to my home town. Destin FL. and starting a new chapter in my life. Self employed has always been my dream. Been taking care of my folks, but they have moved on. Now and I'm very fortunate that have set me up to make a move and live my dream out.. Thanks for all your information, and I will be taking that course.. Thanks again. Take care.
@@43supermark yea man, it’s really about how “turn key” can you afford.

$12,000 for the rig. I'm on the fence about a skid or trailer. I'd like to have the truck for other purposes. But I see the advantages to having it all on the truck. Anyway, thanks again.
