That tool is awesome, just got mine yesterday and I put it to work today, will never mix mud in the tray again, best $21 I have ever spent. Thank you for featuring it on your video. you can actually mix double the amount with no problem, you can easily waste 2 minutes mixing a 5 min mud in a tray which leaves no much time to apply with this tool is literally 30 secs and you are using it.
Awesome tool
Glad you like it, thanks for sharing your experience with it!
Like many others I routinely mix mud right in the pan, water first, with no issues. Only thing I do different and recommend is the use of a margin trowel to mix instead of a taping knife.
Awesome, thanks for sharing!
over here the decorative plaster guys use those cheap rubber soccer balls you get in £1 stores , they cut them in half along the valve so you can throw valve away and get two bowls lol
Great idea. Not a painter, but a DIYer. Wish I had this when I was patching my ceiling, walls.
Thanks for watching man!
Yea.... Love that.....
Great tool! Well thought out design that makes a lot of sense.
That's a great idea! Love it.
Thanks for watching Karyn!
Looks great! I'll have to try it!
Thanks for watching!
Got to get one of these, wow, that has always been serious frustration for me in the past.
Would definitely recommend getting one!
Love mine!!!!
They are great, aren't they!? Thanks for watching Marla!
Wow nice
I work with the maker and owner of that tool. Mike is awesome
Awesome tool to have!
Great reasonable price as well. I think this is a win
I agree!
Pretty cool, when I need a small amount of mud I always end up mixing to much. This would be great.
Everyone should have one!
Awesome I started painting apprentice 1978 we use to take our dodge balls or any little rubber balls and mix
fix all ,but this is awesome you have the paddle mixer for consistency
Hot mud has replaced fix all which is lot better than back in my day
Thanks for sharing🤙
I have no problem mixing mud in the pan. The water goes in first, then the powder. Prevents the sticking and the chunks mentioned. Most guys get it wrong and put the powder in first
Yes, order is important
That’s awesome I’m getting one
Do it!!!!!
Hey guys i just recently bought the mix ball from your website through amazon but the instructions did not mention the mix amounts that you just demonstrated where do i find that information in the instructions. ?
What size are the cups
I actually think that will fly...is that all silicone?
Pretty cool but that mix looks a bit stiff, easy enough to change ratios I’m sure
Cool product, I will get one. But chris, where did you get those pants?
www.dextersworkwear.co.uk
Interested in your pants as well. Any chance you would do a pants review with these and others like Blaklader? Thanks.
That’s Cute..!!!
Do you have something more Man size..?
Haven't found something more man size yet
@@Idahopainter yoga ball will be OK
Do a review on the acubrush. It's the ad on all your videos. Please and thank you.
ruclips.net/video/zZ_5Yi0iLkg/видео.html
Can you mix more than 3 cups at the time?
Yeah just add 2 cups of water to make 6 cups of mud
Yes
You should sell the painter paints from the U.K
That is a good idea!
Good Morning Guys, I have a very important question, I'm looking to paint 9,000 sqft of metal roofing and was wondering if you could give me some advise on what is the best product to use on this?? Thank you in advance
Direct-to-metal paint from Sherwin-Williams.
@@GeorgiaBoi70 I believe they recommended sher-cryl which is a higher end DTM. I'm jst trying to do a little research because it's a Military School where we are painting these roofs and I don't want them to decolorate real quick.

Special Thanks - Chris Berry, The Idaho Painter
Use a cake beater mixer it mixes super fast in a mud pan your wife will be mad when she's goes to make a cake and only has one mixer tho lmao
lol, we'll try it
@@Idahopainter I have all ways used a cake mixer, works fast and easy.you should try it.
Dang
Dang
Paint Life TV thank you. I would have never known this existed. You guys rock.
3 scoops of ice cream?
All i can think of is accidentally dropping it while mixing then slapping my forehead.
lol, that is possible
What the heck is 5 minute mud? Is it the same as plaster of paris?
Pretty much its hot mud theres 5 minute, 10 minute, 15 and maybe a 25....but yeah they are diff than a regular joint compound when mixed they fire off in 5,10 or 15 mins instead of waiting all day for a normal mud. You can tinker the ratios to quicken it or slow it a little but yup its like instant mud if you will.
@@trollop4866 never heard of the stuff. Plaster of paris will dry in 5 minutes depending on the amount of water, One minute its good next minute its rock hard, use it on holes as a base layer. What do you use hot mud on?
@@drewcama5481 hot mud is mostly used on patchwork or whenever you need that first pass to dry quick so you can get another on it, I really like it in corners too that with the corner tool is great combo. I can only speak for myself personally though, we also used in in remodels of the casinos when they didnt wanna remove the wallpaper due to the glue mess with mud woulda been terrible, and time so we cut the seams and corners and hotmudded everything it kept the wallpaper from raising and bubbling.
@@drewcama5481 but yes your correct it acts just like plaster of paris the way it fires off, even the heat you can feel after its hard. I'm not sure what the diff in the actual powder is tbh
I don't think so guys, if I had a boss then he would ask me WTF am I doing
Yup I would grab that thing and boot it across the street lol these guys make me laugh at all the wasteful things they do
lol
My point is in a custom shop NP, but in production this is a no go (pan, knives, spunge, and 5gal. Bucket filled half wsy w/ water)
@@Gen.Bread75 it's an ad its why hes defending it so hard, only reason to bring this junk on the jobsite. 20 mins in and this thing is on the floor and a pan is in his hand guaranteed
I like all his videos! but some of this tools are def not for the pros .
All this can happen with a pan and they "amazing" cleaning method works the same lmao silly shit
Works for us
I wouldn't say silly. Scrapping corners of a pan is annoying if your mix kicks off before finishing it. I do this with larger batches at work in an old basketball. Clean up is the easiest. This or using a mud pie method with really fast mud like plaster of Paris for example with a hawk can't be beat.
Sorry but if anybody in my crew had this i would boot it across the street, be a man and use a pan these guys always using homeowner tools lol.
And we have another "If someone brought that on my job site...."
Shut the fuck up. You wouldn't do a damn thing.
Okay
@@GeorgiaBoi70 aww salty you cant put a business and a crew together? Sounds like a salty lifetime laborer there bud lmao
@@trollop4866 you're either an old dude or an old dudes brown nosing offspring.
