I got a Zabala Hermanos in the late 60's, from the Navy PX. Went to put it away, dry fired both barrels and the firing pin tips rattled down the barrels. Had it repaired, the gunsmith said the barrels are good, but the rest of it was probably made in somebody's back yard. I still have it, still shoots well.

Of that lot, Bergara has made a huge impact to the US market in the past few years. They targeted the big box stores with mass-produced MOA-capable rifles.

Dont forget most of them are Basque gunmakers. Some of them continue creating new guns but unfortunately the other are living very difficult times. I love visiting my gunsmith in Eibar, and sometimes a visit AYA, Parkemy or El Reno. Garbis owners are also very polite. And i hope i will also visit Bergara soon, but first i will need to save some money for taking back a b14 take-down with me!
Thanks you for this videos, i love them.
PD: Sorry for my English, im Basque :)

    Hi, really like your videos!
Would like to point out another Spanish gunmaker than no longer exists, but was founded in the 19th century: Victor Sarasqueta. I came across one side-by-side this year, and it was a really gorgeous gun with some beautiful engraving.
    Cheers!

Hi. I really like his RUclips channel and everything he explains about the AYA shotguns side by side. Since I like to hunt with single barrel muzzleloading shotguns. I like that I mentioned the Ardesa factory, which manufactures the Fowler model. I would like to have an original English muzzleloading shotgun, single shot, in 12 gauge to be able to hunt with it here in Spain. Best regards.

In Canada Zabala Hermanos were imported and sold by CIL Idustries . I have a 12g with modified choke on one side and full on the other , 30" barrel . I also have a 20g . They are both in mint condition . Very nice and solid shotguns . They are both exactly the same but the 20 gauge has a 20 inch barrel , both are 3 inch magnum chamber . Got them both for 150$ can . 😛

I've got an Astra-made boxlock side-by-side. It's very much and english style gun, straight wrist, scroll floral engraving, etc. My guess is that it was made in the 1960s. It's a little off the face and there's a goose-egg at the front of each chamber, but it still runs like a scalded dog.
