    Not everyone in jail are violent some are just having a rough time and they are decent human beings. Not everyone in prison are horrible people. They make mistakes albeit bigger than most but still people with a soul and heart.

      This is why people shouldn't be put in jail for nonviolent crimes. If you aren't a danger to others, you shouldn't be locked up. All those people sitting there doing nothing all day and being a burden on tax payers for stealing or doing drugs, when there is plenty of work they can be doing to for the community. Prisons in America are a big business so this would probably never happen.

    Yes, there are the types of prisoners who fit the portrait of how one might typically view a convicted criminal - hostile, violent, problematic, etc. However, many ppl in jail/prison aren’t even there for violent crimes. Just b/c someone is incarcerated, wearing an orange jumpsuit, or has been labeled a convict, doesn’t necessarily mean they are evil and have no conscience.

    I think it's pretty easy to forget that not all criminals are necessarily violent. Some are just in for fraud, drugs or are even wrongly accused and have no desire to hurt anyone.
    At the same time though they're in a place where you can find the very worst of humanity ... and are judged as such.
    It's a shame that this happens ... but I get it.

    I've been incarcerated a couple times when i was younger and met some of the nicest people you will ever meet. For instance an inmate threatened an older nurse that worked there and myself as well as four others got in between him and her to keep her safe until guards could come. One of the four with me was being transfered to another state for murder charges. Just because you end up in jail/prison doesn't mean you cant change and become a better person. Anyone can change if they truly want to and have the opportunity.

    Not all people are in prison for violent offenses. Maybe what these guys were in for were for non violent crimes. Nothing is all black and white, there are many shades of gray. A truly evil person would not intervene to help someone when they could make a different choice to only help themselves.

    I hope all of them got rewarded in some way, and decided to go straight after that. I know there are people twisted enough to do that kind of thing just to get their sentence reduced, but most of these strike me as genuine acts of good will, and I hope I’m right. I actually once met a convict who was doing service at the local animal shelter, and was very excited that he was going to get out right after Christmas. He seemed genuinely remorseful and said how much he wanted to get a job and not repeat his mistakes, and I really do hope he did all that. And that he got to go back and adopt a kitty after integrating into society. He pretty clearly loved them. (Which I take as a good sign on people. Being kind to critters usually shows a good heart. 😊 )

      You don't know how things turned out or why the person is where they are. . Leave it to the courts, this will go on their record too.. what if they were just convicts murdering your child, would you want the person free for saving someone else? I'm certain the officer will testify in court or hearings as to the good deed done. . I'm glad they helped but not certain if freedom is proper in all these cases

    • @jessames9044
      @jessames9044 6 лет назад +1

      Jennifer W yeah I guess that's true but I just see it has a good deed should not go unpunished so hopefully yeah the judge sees it and does something in return for that

    • @jwbirdlover
      @jwbirdlover 6 лет назад +4

      Jess Ames I'm sure most judges, (not the idiot ones), would consider this... I'd certainly hope the officer would testify in hearings trials etc.. you do hear people getting out early for "good behavior " this would definitely quality. . I'm just glad they helped the guards out!!!
