After watching your recent videos I came back to where it all started. I grew up in Brixham so nice to see it again. There is a real professionalism to your work, even in the early days. Your previous life shows through.
American here, love the channel. Decided to start from the beginning and do a watch through playing in background. I grew up in Massachusetts and Florida spending a lot of time on boats on the ocean. There is something so quaint and peaceful about narrowboating. I love the UK and hopefully next time i'm there I can check out the channels and locks in your beautiful country side!
So! This is how it all began, - like most good things, with a tiny thought. What an amazing and fulfilling journey it must have been for you these last four years.
Oh I love this channel so much I'm starting over again, yes a double plunge. I have lived in a land rover for the last 3 years to save money and in 2021 I shall be viewing narrow boats to purchase.
After randomly bumping into this channel and bouncing around various vlogs I've decided that it's time to start from the beginning of the tea drinking experience. I get to reminisce of time spent living on a Dutch barge and relax at the slower pace of boat life at a slightly crazy time in mine. Thank you 😊. I'd best put the kettle on...
20 year retired U.S. Merchant Mariner and I have just found your channel just by accident, actually RUclips suggested it! I find it very interesting and informative and humorous. I just subscribed and looking forwards to seeing all of your VLogs as you call them! Cheers from America!!
I've just finished watching all the videos last night. Time to start again from the beginning. Thank you for making these vlogs and I hope you continue for many more years!
I watched the latest video and have subed and have started at the beginning. This is how all great things start. You end up somewhere looking at something you had no intention of buying right then and bang... You bought one. Doesn't matter what IT is....
Got to your channel by accident. I clicked on the video about your trip on the fuel boat. I didn't even know that those canals are still used nowadays and after watching a few vids i came to the start of your vlog.
So after having been randomly watching some of your narrowboating adventures, I have now decided to take a giant leap of faith and I'll start all over again, from episode 1 onwards. England may be at its most beautiful when viewed from a narrowboat, so being a bit of an anglophile I expect to get my penny's worth. See you in episode 2!
Entertaining and calming, with a generous bit of British humor thrown in. So glad I discovered this, but on Prime so I didn't get everything he posted. Now I have to start over!
Thank you. I put most of the vlogs onto Prime but some didn't feel "Prime-like". Incidentally, Prime S4 ended at approx vlog 201 here, everything newer than that is RUclips only.
After a few days hopping about between videos, no.1 came up & I thought, why not start from the beginning. Again. This will be my third tour of your great narrowboat life. I might need several cups of tea for this.
I’ve come back to watch from the beginning, for the third time, and I get a kick out of how you decide against a camper van and then build one of your own a couple of years later. Face it David you are just a rolling stone. I can’t imagine you going back to being tied down to a house again.
Time does fly a bit, Mr cruising-the-cut you look much older than now in episode 173, thanks for your hard and good work in showing us the UK canals scenery, thank you.
I watched the last 63 videos David has uploaded, a binge watch over a few days, from new to old; I finally decided to watch all his videos in the right order 😆

Hello from the States. I just discovered your channel, and I am thoroughly fascinated. I am currently up to installment 7 and it is making me wish we had a canal system like that over here. Looking forward to getting caught up.
I followed you when it was all about the RV lifestyle and caught up periodically. I watched one of your more recent videos and had to go back to the beginning as you have really made the narrowboat journey a success. While others have come and gone, you have done so much to tell the 'real story' of boating and have encouraged others to give it a try (sober and pragmatically). Hi! Another Sail Life viewer here. This one from South Carolina, USA. Your channel looks very interesting. I too think the narrow boat fills the gap between camper and sail. I wish we had the pretty canal system over here.
Apparently and thankfully I'm not the only one who has "recently " found your channel and has finally started at the beginning of your videos instead of randomly selected ones! I've had a load of questions to ask you, but, as with most things, paying attention from the BEGINNING eliminates most of them. A very beautiful boat and storyline! Thank you. By the way, you couldn't possibly be going through a "mid-life crisis"!? Lol I'm enjoying your videos and knowledge may there be MANY more to come .

Hello Mr. David, I am from India and I used to watch a lot of alternative living vlogs like van dwelling etc. I had given subscription to Exploring Alternatives and saw their Vlog and I was very happy to know another alternative way of living in a narrow boat. Though I have seen some vlogs wherein people live near the harbor or coastline with a Boat mostly anchored and travelling a little. The way you are living is meditative and to be part of nature in a calm environment is too good. Thanks Mr. David for all the efforts in sharing with us your experience. Today I start seeing your first Vlog and I will try to catch up with the rest in between my work. Take care!!!

I thought it was interesting that your latest posting at the time of this comment (176) is back at the Crick show where your journey started. :) I think you're tremendously fortunate to have been able to partake of the narrowboat experience. The midlands scenery is all so lovely and tranquil from the canals. It makes me wish we had similar canals here in the States.
I am so glad I found your channel years ago and have watched just about every episode. Its.... Its my cup of tea... my quiet time just before bed... to daydream about living another life. Live life now and have (any) regrets later! I wish I had done this years ago - I am now a bit too old and anyway, have bad arthritis in my hips, so totally out of the question. Have done all the canals in UK, thoroughly enjoyed my boating days :) All the very best, and have a wonderful time. Mike (now in Republic of Ireland)
So I finally came all the way back to the beginning of this wonderful journey and I will be watching you as you sail through the UK 🇬🇧 in a way one could not experience without story bloggers like you, thank you 😊 ❤️🇩🇰
Just time travelled 7 years back from 2022 - from your Darting About VLOG. Staggered by how young you look and sound - has all that time on the canals been so hard?! Mind you, back in 2015, I still had all my hair and weighed 15k less...
I stumbled on your channel by accident and watched a dozen of your videos. Not only do you sound like you're from the BBC or something, but all the videos are so well done -- writing, editing, presentation. It makes them very enjoyable and interesting to watch. I just retired and fantasize about a variety of boats or RVs, but actually I like staying put. When I was young, I had a job where I traveled internationally and got the travel bug out of me at that time. I like experiencing boat ownership vicariously though. It's a lot cheaper that way.
Hello there mister! 🙋 I'm your new subscriber.. And about to do a video marathon from the beginning so I won't miss anything. Stay safe, stay healthy, and we'll see again on the latest video..😁😁
currently in Malaysia we have Movement Control Order because of Covid-19.. random browsing in youtube and found your channel.. will watch from your first video until latest while we cant go out because of this epidemic.. i really love your video and your boat!

All the very best, and have a wonderful time.
Mike (now in Republic of Ireland)
Thank you!
So I finally came all the way back to the beginning of this wonderful journey and I will be watching you as you sail through the UK 🇬🇧 in a way one could not experience without story bloggers like you, thank you 😊 ❤️🇩🇰
the fireplace is a real nice touch. a tea and biscuit , sweet
:-)
I am instantly hooked! Adventure, comfort, whimsy, and excellent narration!
Agreed Andrew.
Now I want tea! Looking forward to watching your vlog - all the best from Sydney, Australia!
Sit back and enjoy - you've another 74 episodes to go! Cheers :-)
Good Morning from 🇺🇸 AKA South La. That is Louisiana. We have lots of water way but not like the beautiful canals.
Just time travelled 7 years back from 2022 - from your Darting About VLOG. Staggered by how young you look and sound - has all that time on the canals been so hard?! Mind you, back in 2015, I still had all my hair and weighed 15k less...
I know! So-called tranquil boating has aged me drastically!
Thank you! I'm ex-ITV ;-) Yes, a lot cheaper to watch someone else spending all the cash! Cheers.
I find these videos fascinating. Have learned so much from them. Your sense of humour will get you through anything that comes along.
Hello there mister! 🙋
I'm your new subscriber.. And about to do a video marathon from the beginning so I won't miss anything. Stay safe, stay healthy, and we'll see again on the latest video..😁😁
That’s quite the marathon. Make sure you have plenty of tea breaks 😀
currently in Malaysia we have Movement Control Order because of Covid-19.. random browsing in youtube and found your channel.. will watch from your first video until latest while we cant go out because of this epidemic.. i really love your video and your boat!
I have found the beginning! Now I can proceed in proper order and watch them all.
Because I watch on my TV, via Roku, I can't thumbs up every one unless I fetch my tablet. I will do my best.
That first glimpse of the Wreyland is really touching now 😢 my heart
