I have sideloaded an Android app without going into developer mode. I found an article explaining how to use adb in Linux to achieve this. Worked just fine and instructions were easy to follow.
OK let me just say thank you for this video because the only thing I hated about the chromebook is that you couldn't side load apks on the chromebook. But thanks to this video I keep my chromebook in developer mode and have added some of my favorite apps to my chromebook making me enjoy my Asus 713 spin 3W even more. Why chromebook doesn't make this available like the android phones and tablets is beyond me. I think it would bring more customers to the Chromebook world if they did that. But I'm truly enjoying my Chromebook now more than ever.
Also everytime I try to enable developer it does everything yours does and it enables but when I turn mine off ot close it it pops up to chrome os is missing basically the screen where you press control d the second time
I love my Chromebook, i still use my pixelbook and always have dev mode on because side loading is the best thing for a Chromebook.....just wish cod mobile would work on it
i've got a bit of a problem. when i press confirm when enabling developer mode, it only gives the option to return to secure mode, and doesn't let me boot from the internal disk. what do i do?
I was trying to figure it out, I found you just have to wait on the os is tuened off screen, then it eventually will reboot. Or at least it did for me.
If you're on a 104 os version go to the recovery screen and it say insert SC card press Ctrl and d together and after that press enter and do we what you have to do
Mine does not look like this it it from recovy I have to press Ctrl d then it says to turn os verification off is this work as far as going in to devor mode
i think the Chromebook i'm working with uses the older ver. because i'm not getting the same options as i see in the video can i get a link to the old video so i can follow those steps?

Why did they make the chrome os options feel like a child's tablet? I can't set screen timeout or screensaver timer or any kind of advanced options, or even useful options.... Did they even try? I bought a chromebook because I thought it would be the same as plugging my Galaxy S22 Ultra into my tv, but no, I feel like it's 2012 and the Galaxy Tab 10 I had got an update to make it do even less. I feel insulted any time I try to use my chromebook to do anything but watch hulu and youtube.
I have been using Pixelbook for 3 years for personal development. It sucks! Bluetooth keeps disconnecting for my keyboard/mouse. Sound is completely useless via HDMI. My company uses Mac and Windows, never had any issue with VisualStudio Code, MySQL. Basically, chromebook for dev is a peace of crap.
Something wrong there, pal. I use a chrombook (Asus) for dev work. Wireless keyboard and mouse, code, compile and/or cross-compile in java,C,rust via crostini, good ssh connection to the other machine; and watch the movies through Chrome. Haven't shifted to dev mode since I needed to use Crouton.

I tried that process but unfortunately adb debugging option is not available in my Chromebook even though it has Linux..I'm using Lenovo c330..

Maybe you can make a series of great PWA that enables chromebooks, like gravit, photopea, code pad, kapwing, pixilart, tinkercad, etc :)

For Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3, hold power+vol up+ vol down on the tablet itself for 10 seconds (not 5 sec) then release them.

Since this was just couple days ago, I can tell that developer mode just got harder, it used to be easier.

What about chromebook tablet? I don't have a physical keyboard to press those switches while the chromebook is turned off.

I tried opening an app after I followed the instructions but it said to access developer mode, I just wiped my data for nothing😭😭😭

Repeat the process and it will revert back to the normal mode/ verified mode
Only your local data is deleted but anything synced with your google acc will return once logged in
