Amazing! young sisters sing with 'great grand old lady' voice
Though it is essential for a Carnatic music singer to exhibit his knowledge through kalpana swaram vide applying so much permutations and combinations and calculations, he or she ,the vidwan should see that Bhaavam is not missed. Too much singing of kalpana swaram is not only a strain to the vidwans or listeners but to the Raag Devatha also.
For such youngsters it is a perfect duet performance,dedicated,serious attempt, surely great future for this sisters!! God bless you both

One more Excellent Concert from AA Sisters. (Listened to some of their brisk concerts, what I admire about them the most is they make the complicated Carnatic Music singing appear as if it's so easy, so simple and so effortless although it's actually Not in reality.) arumaiyaana AArabhi by Apoorvaa, a Painstaking, Detailed Poorvi KalyaNi AAlaabana by Anahita - supplemented beautifully by Violinist Pappu Gnanadev that brought out a refreshing dimension of the Raagaa; Not so often heard Oothukaadu Kavi's Padmavathi RamaNam was so nicely rendered with a marked Neraval and a beautiful finish by Apoorva and Pappu in the Swara Segment. Smart selection of Twin Raagaas - the Ever Sweet Shree & a scintillating Shri Ranjani for a detailed RTP was fantastic (and a new experience for me) as the sisters captured the aesthetics of both the Raagaas beautifully in the Thaanam Section - that was superbly extended by Pappu Gnanadev thru his brilliant bowing. The essay of two Raagaas alternately was so lovely & lively in the concluding Swara Segment. Akshay Ram's Mridangam Support & Sai Subramaniam's Moharsing play were equally excellent throughout the concert. Thanx a Lot Mudhra. 🙏 (A food for Thought: the Joy of Giving can be felt immensely by many Rasikaas if the minimum ceiling / bandwidth is brought down substantially & suitably IF possible) as it is an issue of conflict of interest between the ethics of supporting a good cause & the affordability for the Rasikaas as they may also feel need to patronize more than one institution. Of course, this is only an individual opinion & suggestion and it's left to the Organizers' wisdom who know things better - to decide ideally. May Pls be excused if the idea doesn't gel well ). Any way, Our Due Salutations to Mudra for its magnanimity and pioneering service to promote this Art and the Artists. Thanx a Lot. 🙏🙏)

Excellent singing. Bright future awaits. They Have to think of themselves as running a relay race where a baton is passed between each other. They r a little rough. There r a lot of good singers; to be great requires lot of practice in execution. The happiness they show in singing shows they clearly enjoy singing. I did too listening to them thoroughly. However, Poorvikalyani raga, neraval, swaraprasthara etc. suited very well for Apoorva's voice very nicely/ aptly. If Aalapana also has been done by Apoorva it would have been a masterpiece on record!!

Listening this concert, both the Vidushis and Vidwans making once more that next generation are committed to the musical values of pure classicism of manodharma, saadhana sampath, not overtaken by the beliefs that music entertaining must be contemporaneous very high sounds strikes and soundscapes compelling appreciation of applause in excitement induced.

Superb performance by the young artists. Rightfully they need to be patronized and compensated. Just a suggestion for the organizers: the minimum amount of Rs. 3000 for India is a bit difficult to meet for many middle-class Indian rasikas. Setting a high donation amount as a default amount may backfire, reducing the funds raised. A HIGH opt-out default amount as a pre-selected (checkbox) option could make many willing donors back-out. If a lower amount is set as default, it will encourage more donors to participate. A lower default amount will also enable people to enjoy the good feelings that come with being a donor. It will motivate potential low-income middle-class donors to participate, resulting in more returns by bringing in more donors. Just a thought.
No doubt these sisters have great vidwath. But they lack the basic curtesy of responding to the applause filled with appreciation of audience .
