I got scammed too! They posted a phone number which I responded to. I left a voice message to their number. I then received a text saying they weren’t able to process their payment because my account wasn’t set up yet. The scammer said she contacted customer service and someone would contact me to guide me through what I needed to do. I then received a text from someone posing to be a representative of Poshmark. Like you it looked very official. He said I needed to purchase a apple gift
card and send him the code on
the card so he could process
the $200 payment to set up my accoun
account. Once I did that the fake
buyer sent a text saying she sent payment for my item. I then received a text from the fake poshmark rep saying I need to get another apple gift card for$1,000 to guarantee that I would ship the item since the item was listed for $700. That’s when a red flag went up for me. I checked my poshmark account and didn’t see a payment. Like you this was a real eyeopener! I was a new seller too. Thanks for sharing your experience!

OMGAWWW!! I wished I would have seen this video beforehand!! I just started selling on the platform , and I too keep receiving nothing but scammers trying to get me to email pics
      (just as you stated) 🙄
I made the mistake of sending 1 person an email with 3 attachments. My bank acct was possibly compromised after the fact because my bank declined 4 charges for small amounts like $2.46 and ..89 cents, etc ...
There's so many rules and etiquette to read up on that I didnt realize I had done something wrong! Especially when the emails I teceived stating my item sold! I never had made a sell yet, so I wouldnt know what the process even looks like.
I googled to see the rules to emailing and found out I should not have done that, way after the fact. Shame on me.
      It will not happen again!
I changed my email passwords since the incident, but now I can't tell if my PM account is or has still been compromised?! What are some of the ways I would know, besides the 1 way you described to us in the video? It's very frustrating because it seems as though that's all im receiving is scammers messages & emails 😔
      I haven't sold 1 thing yet 🤷‍♀️
Maybe Im doing something wrong?!?! IDK anymore😅
      Thank you in advance!! 🙏

@@PINKYPABLO510 Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I know how frustrating it is to deal with. From my experience, it was only my bank card that was compromised and not my PM account in general. However, it is good that you have taken that step just in case. 🙌 You have not done anything wrong, it is really the Poshmark site/app that has the problem of not blocking these scammers' messages. What you can do going forward is:
      1) Double Check: Poshmark will only notify you of sales through their app or an official email from their domain. If you’re unsure, log in to your account directly to verify sales-don’t rely on emails.
      2) Ignore Scammer Messages: Always stick to communicating within the app/site, and don’t share personal info or photos outside of it.
Remember, you’re still learning and taking the right precautions now. Mistakes happen, and it doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong-it’s just part of the learning curve! It may take time but you’ve got this! I’m rooting for your first sale to come soon!

Thank you for your video. I almost got scammed. As I was chatting on the help chat it seemed ridiculous to be charged when selling. I immediately blocked my card, while verifying what was going on. Took screenshots of everything. The chat told me the card did not work and to use another one. I was lucky I thought a little faster, but I was overwhelmed with joy that I sold my first product, that rookie mistake almost cost me a lot of money. I've just put things on Poshmark trying to clean out some closets. I keep getting the "Congrats Poshmark has received payment, now you have to blah blah blah." NO! I am not clicking links. Or "Because of our new Buy It Now button you have to set up payment info to get paid immediately". Um no. If it is not noted in my official Poshmark Sales activity, I ignore it. If it is noted in someones 'bundle', I ignore that. I will flag as spam and block them. I knew it would take some time to sell but I started getting spam less than 5 minutes after my first listing. • @ShaniceBannis
      @ShaniceBannis  22 дня назад

Thank you so much for your comment! This is such a great question. You’re already taking the right steps by being cautious and seeking advice. Here are some tips to help you as a buyer on Poshmark:
      1) Check the Seller’s Reputation: Always look at the seller’s reviews and ratings. Sellers with lots of positive feedback are generally more trustworthy.
      2) Ask Questions: Don’t hesitate to ask for more details about the item. A genuine seller will gladly provide more information.
      3) Stick to the Platform: Avoid communicating or paying outside of Poshmark. This way, you’re covered by their buyer protection policies.
      4) Be Cautious of Deals That Seem Too Good to Be True: If a price seems unrealistically low, it might be a red flag.
      5) Use Common Sense: Trust your instincts. If something feels strange or you get an odd request, it’s okay to walk away
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask-I’m happy to help.
