It all started when stipulation became a PPV, HIAC was only meant to end feuds that were so high that the cell was the right place to finish the story. Glad that feeling is back with CM Punk and Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood
Agreed. Sure they were some good HIAC matches in the HIAC PPV, but Hell in a Cell were meant to end blood feuds. It was like the final chapter to the rivalry. I'm happy they brought back that concept last year with Edge vs Finn Balor & now Punk vs Drew.
It’s funny you say that since the first hell in a cell had interference from kane and did not end the hbk and taker feud. And the second hell in a cell or 3rd didn’t do that either
Yes, my G! Hell in a Cell should be one of the two last ditch efforts to squash a beef that’s gotten so bad, you knew the guys involved would end up killing themselves with others as collateral.
I feel like Roman, along with the rest of the Bloodline(The new Bloodline vs the OG Bloodline) are going to be used for War Games. And at one point recently, I thought of Cody maybe joining OG Bloodline team just for one night at Survivor Series. I see those two for Wargames this year, not so much Hell in a Cell.
Hell in a Cell from 1997-2008 truly was the definition of pure mayhem. All those matches with lots of punishing moments, crazy spots, insane lore with the match itself, etc., it was all great stuff. @@pleaseshutup7053 It's kind of personal, Shawn screwed Taker out of the Wwe title by unintentionally helping Bret. Then their matches happened with Shawn getting away as usual. One time in 2021, I went to a Raw taping in Sacramento. There, I met some die hard WWE fans, and it was the first WWE show since HIAC 2019. One of the guys who I met said “we booed the FUCK out of that” in reference to not just the main event, but the whole show
I get that Cody & Roman teaming up is huge but i still think Punk vs McIntyre is the rightful main event for Bad Blood that’s literally been the Feud Of The Year and deserves to have a final payoff for the hard work that Punk & Drew have done in this perfect feud
I feel like the true downfall started in 2010. 2009's matches in the cell were high profiled enough feuds for it to deserve a match. 2010 had Randy and Sheamus which didn't deserve a cell match at all, 2011 had the triple threat which is the same case. There would be some high profile feuds that deserved the cell matches, but some of them were put in the cell, just cuz it was that PPV/PLE. Now though HIAC is honestly in a weird spot. The next match inside it is obviously Drew McIntyre Vs CM Punk at Bad Blood in October 5th. The match before that was The Demon Finn Balor Vs Edge at Mania 39 which took place in April 2023. The conclusion is that it's been a year and a half since we've had a cell match, and if the wait can be shortened to time I can be content with, I would be happy about it. Nonetheless I still prefer a year and a half without a cell match, rather than through a non heated enough feud inside the cell every year or so.
Only exception in that era was Undertaker vs Triple H WrestleMania 28. Everything else I agree with. It wasn't till Cody vs Seth that they were starting to get it right. Finn vs Edge was fine but officials getting involved ruined it. Drew vs Punk felt like the older ones.
Take it from me who’s all time favorite match is a HIAC match between Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker No Mercy 2002. It’s nice that the overall match is back to feeling important again and used properly as an end to a feud/rivalry and Punk & McIntyre deserve it.
That’s fire bro my first one I seen was the HBK and HHH as a kid crazy how we basically all had the same childhood jus in different areas in the world lol that Taker and Bossman one scared the shit outta me cuz as a kid I actually thought he killed somebody when he hung bro
I started watching wrestling before the hell in a cell matches so I got to watch them live and the first couple literally blew my mind as a kid lol. I mean I had seen the bunkhouse match but the multi man aspect made it feel less dangerous than HIAC. The first one made Kanes career and he was barely in it. The second and third ones turned Foley into a God and made undertaker and HHH into real badasses. Undertaker was kind of already there but it added to it if nothing else lol
While we’re talking about the HIAC PPV era, besides Legacy/DX, Rollins/Ambrose sans the ending, 2020’s offerings, Usos/New Day and Lesnar/Taker, there have been great Cell matches from that era. Bray/Roman from 2015, Owens/Rollins from 2016, Jeff Hardy/Randy Orton from 2018 and Becky/Sasha from that same 2019 card with the Seth/Fiend match.
It’s crazy how the hell in the cell was technically for Kanes debut. DX kept interfering to save HBK from Undertaker. Little did we know Kane would rip the door off and cost Taker. Storytelling in its finest
I'm glad WWE doesn't have the red Cell anymore since we got the silver one at wrestlemania 39 last year I'm just glad that hell in a cell actually means something since it didn't under vince mcmahon can't wait for bad blood on October 5th this is going to be awesome I'm happy we don't have Hell in a cell as it's own PPV.
The fact that Kane debuted in the first cell match to attack undertaker and then had that exact same type of match later on with the same man and it was nothing more than a foot note in that feud is ridiculous
I definitely wouldn’t mind a video of you glazing the psp. Definitely a goated console that I loved using, I used it well into college after having it jailbroken.
Did anybody notice CM Punk still hasn't got a proper main event match at a PPV since his return? The same thing Punk complained about the last time he was WWE champion...
The Hell in A Cell match is my favourite being more unpredictable than a Royal Rumble match, although like said they were definitely better before they had a PPV dedicated to it instead of a special occasion
Cody vs Seth was the one cell match where it once again became dangerous, like as in you actually look away cause it's too much which is what HIAC supposed to be, it makes you anxious and worried for those competitors. Cody could've lost his damn arm in that cage and it sickened us to the core, we didn't wanna see it, and at the end of the way, we saluted Cody for how damn strong he was doing all that with that much risk.

One time in 2021, I went to a Raw taping in Sacramento. There, I met some die hard WWE fans, and it was the first WWE show since HIAC 2019. One of the guys who I met said “we booed the FUCK out of that” in reference to not just the main event, but the whole show
Watching in October 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We really went through a lot just to get here!! I can’t wait to see some carnage!
I get that Cody & Roman teaming up is huge but i still think Punk vs McIntyre is the rightful main event for Bad Blood that’s literally been the Feud Of The Year and deserves to have a final payoff for the hard work that Punk & Drew have done in this perfect feud
Pav, I’m surprised you didn’t even mention or
show ya boi Jeff Hardy vs. RKO in the cell,
Great Video tho, much respect 💪
missed how brutal the matches used to be
I feel like the true downfall started in 2010. 2009's matches in the cell were high profiled enough feuds for it to deserve a match.
That Jeff Hardy Vs Randy cell match was crazy
“Hey its gonna be a hell in a cell match buckko”😂
Hell in a cell matches happened on raw in the attitude era
Take it from me who’s all time favorite match is a HIAC match between Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker No Mercy 2002. It’s nice that the overall match is back to feeling important again and used properly as an end to a feud/rivalry and Punk & McIntyre deserve it.
The Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy HIAC match is hella underrated. My personal fevorite with the red cage.
7:29 prove it then
be quiet you strange little man
😂😂
Women inside hell in a cell is ridiculous
It’s crazy how the hell in the cell was technically for Kanes debut. DX kept interfering to save HBK from Undertaker. Little did we know Kane would rip the door off and cost Taker. Storytelling in its finest
That’s 6 man hell in the cell was amazing
I'm glad WWE doesn't have the red Cell anymore since we got the silver one at wrestlemania 39 last year I'm just glad that hell in a cell actually means something since it didn't under vince mcmahon can't wait for bad blood on October 5th this is going to be awesome I'm happy we don't have Hell in a cell as it's own PPV.
Agreed bro. The Red HIAC was so unnecessary.
@thetruej7872 I agree 100% lol what was vince thinking just because the color red means Hell doesn't mean the cell should be that color.
@@benespinosa6725 Right. 😅
@@thetruej7872I agree 100% lol.
The fact that Kane debuted in the first cell match to attack undertaker and then had that exact same type of match later on with the same man and it was nothing more than a foot note in that feud is ridiculous
As a kid I had the best of Hell in the Cell dvd narrated by Mick Foley literally watched the dvd everyday until it was all scratched up
Was a reason for undertaker and CMP that match happened because CM punk disrespected SanhMichael’s backstage and he didn’t apologize
I definitely wouldn’t mind a video of you glazing the psp. Definitely a goated console that I loved using, I used it well into college after having it jailbroken.
I'm going to get to see the hell in a cell match between punk and drew
You don’t know how old you made me feel when you said the EARLY 2020s 😭😭
Im really excited to have a real Hell in a cell match since the ruthless aggression era
Did anybody notice CM Punk still hasn't got a proper main event match at a PPV since his return? The same thing Punk complained about the last time he was WWE champion...
@@serene5385 because he got injured
The Hell in A Cell match is my favourite being more unpredictable than a Royal Rumble match, although like said they were definitely better before they had a PPV dedicated to it instead of a special occasion
2010 Undertaker v Kane hell in a cell would’ve work if that was the 3rd match. In their fued
The red Hell In A Cell looks like a playground for kids. I'm surprised they didn't add slides and swings during that era.
That comment had me laughing as I am surprised Vince wasn't crazy enough to do it then
Cody vs Seth was the one cell match where it once again became dangerous, like as in you actually look away cause it's too much which is what HIAC supposed to be, it makes you anxious and worried for those competitors. Cody could've lost his damn arm in that cage and it sickened us to the core, we didn't wanna see it, and at the end of the way, we saluted Cody for how damn strong he was doing all that with that much risk.
If it wasn't for the mankind and undertaker match, HIAC wouldn't be as loved it is now
The most underrated is DX vs The McMahons and big show

@@SJ_RANKS It was such a brutal match and I could've easily seen it fitting into the ruthless aggression era of cell matches
Roman reigns v bray wyatt??
@@christopher7804 honorable mention along with triple h vs Shawn Michaels that was a good one too it was just a little too long
The last three hell in a cell matches were good and all three happened with a while between them.
my top 5 ppvs is Royal Rumble,Elimination chamber, payback,Night of champions, fastlane
My favorite hell in a cell gameplay was back in 2k14
"I had the video downloaded to my PSP". PSP was so great for the times
