    Be nice to your Grandad, he may want you to inherit this beautiful car one day.
    It should stay with one good family like yours.

    Front wheel drive. Nice big great sounding V-8. Beautiful styling. Now that's a fine looking automobile. One of Detroit's finest. Bravo GM & American steel.

    Oh, yeah. The deep, throaty rumble of the Oldsmobile 455 Rocket V8. I know it well. I had a '73 Toro back in the '90s. Best car I've ever owned.

    I had a 1977 Toronado Brougham that I loved! It got a transmission cooler line leak and my Dad had me trade it on something newer. An 85 Caprice that I drove 250,000 miles. I still would have liked the Toronado

    I had a 1971 Toronado fully loaded and painted midnight blue metallic. It had a black leather interior. It was an awesome car and I had until it had 172,000 miles. It was a virtual tank! Loved that car, they just don’t make them like that any more.

      "until it had 172,000 miles", then something happened, junk yard? sold it? or breaked down and there's no way to repair?

    • @andrewkast4087
      @andrewkast4087 Год назад +1

      @@klyo3475 I found a couple small rust holes in the frame just ahead of the rear wheels and sold it as I did not trust it towing my camper or boat. I sold it to a friend for his son to drive to the Midwest for college. He had it for several years until somebody ran a red light and totaled it. The suburban hit the right front wheel damaging the differential. It ended up with just over 200,000 miles on it. The only thing he had to do other than normal service was a water pump.

    Ahh hearing the roar and rumble of an Oldsmobile engine. My father had an Olds Delta 88. He would stat that car in the garage and the whole house would shake.

    That car had styling which set it apart. I liked the way it had an extra set of turn signal lights below the rear window.

    Big old boats of luxury couches on wheels. Each brand a thing of beauty to be appreciated and admired. Making a statement. Yes, this used to be the American car industry. Now,....its all gone and gone to crap. Gas prices, smaller is better, global car manufacturers, EPA fuel requirements, smog control, global warming, ...thats what happened.

    Very cool. My dad bought a brown 72 new off the lot in West Nyack NY , then drove the family to Florida in it for vacation. Ahh the 70s.

    in 1977 I bought a green 1972 Olds Toronado for $1500 in Dallas Texas and drove to Minneapolis when I was a college student. The U-joints was clicking and I lost the title so I swapped it for a 300 watts home Stereo set. It got 6mpg-10mpg

      Computers remove creative thinking. Imagine, the Dodge Challenger is using a body style from the 70's. If you were to roll down the window, and look inside the door on the Toronado, there is literally a guard rail inside the door.

      We were invaded by the Japanese industry which in turn brought all foreign cars into our country & the public fell for their crap. That's exactly what happened.
