@@markocoric9233 second this. I love the mig series in general but the 29 is beautiful with how smoothly it can flutter through out the air. Now that I think about it, I like all the russian aircraft. As American as I might be our aircraft are kinda boring.

They come from different backgrounds. Gamers that want to experience some of what a fighter pilot would plays a simulator to pretend to be a fighter pilot. That's the point of a simulator, to immerse yourself in that position. A real life pilot don't need a simulator for that... But they can use the high degree of realism to do what they can't do in real life. In real life, you won't goof off because you can die in these crashes, lose your ability to fly, and cost millions of dollars. The simulator give pilots the ability to just do whatever they wanted without repercussion, which is what a games is for. Ultimately in both cases, the game boils down to letting you do something you couldn't do in real life
@@neurofiedyamato8763 Oh I get it. It makes perfect sense. It's just funny to think that some of the gamers gave Lemoine crap in some of the earlier videos because of the expectation towards realism that a lot of players have, when in reality he's the actual fighter pilot.
You do have a predictive gunsight in the Flanker. Lock the target as you would normally for a missile shot, then switch to guns. It’ll give you a piper which you just have to maneuver over your unfriendly buddy. It’s so easy that even a novice like me with barely 15 hours in the thing can get gun kills on F-16s
I noticed the orientation of the buttons on the flight stick are slightly rotated in the flanker. I wonder if that fits the hand more naturally. Are any of the US planes oriented like that as well?
Pride aircraft restored two and gave them western avionics some years ago. Unless the government bought them they should still be in private hands. There was a dissimilar combat company that was rumored to own a dozen or so but that might have been untrue.
Watch Pugachev and Chernischov crazy Gs pulling and xtreme manouver's even standing still in the air with the nose up, PCM, xtreme lovpas, saltos, spinning and a lot more, SU-57 SU-35 ++++MIG are also involved in jet-acro
Man I really wish we had a full fidelity Flanker. This aircraft is the peak of late Soviet thinking, when shit started collapsing around them and they realized they are not the centre of the world. Flanker is where the Soviet aeronautical engineers stopped copying technical solutions and adapting them to their ridiculous aerial warfare doctrine and instead started looking at the IDEAS behind western designs and the western doctrine itself. Flanker finally featured a lot of solutions that were standard in the NATO by then but were nowhere to be found in Russian designs, because they favour independent decision making by the flight lead, such as the SA datalink - Soviets had datalinks for a while but they only showing the pilot where to fly and at what altitude, they were there for GCI to issue orders non-verbally. Flanker on the other hand features an equivalent of Link 4. It also has a different controls layout, more reminiscent of western designs. Initially it was even tested with a force-sensing sidestick, but unlike GD they backed down on that due to poor pilot reception of the system rather than trying to refine it further. One feature mirroring F-16 remained though - the dogfight-mrm override switch, or as it's called here, the short-range/long-range combat switch, which you can see on the stick, below the trim switch. Unfortunately it's not modelled in DCS, among a bunch of other missing features. And it's a shame, considering Flanker is what ED has started with, it was literally the first aircraft they ever modelled.
Some say local government spends money on the wrong things, but hot damn the Harrison County Sheriff’s Display Team has been amazing ever since they bought that Flanker! Cobra Crime! 🐍
I googled "Harrison County Sheriff's Display Team Flanker" to see if you were actually referencing a real thing and wierdly one of the results was this post of yours but on a completely different website. Kind of odd :D.
My understanding is that the Russian planes can't actually do it with any sort of combat load out. There's videos of fully loaded superhornets coming close to it, but there's no videos of a flanker doing it with anything on the wings.
If you need someone for a ferry flight from Russia to the USA, to save some import tax, just message me. Arms Dealer see's the order list: Cobra...
Always liked the Flanker, saw one up close many many years ago......Amazing in a dogfight.....
The correct way to do the cobra-thing is at 450km/h, level flight, close-to-idle rpm and keep the throttle at there, until the nose dive is done.

Try disabling the flight control system to achieve more aggressive angles of attack.
That is with the flight control system disabled.

If your looking to fly a flanker their are a number of privately owned ones for dissimilar combat.
I think there's also one that makes an appearance at Nellis
Yea I think that’s the air forces though
There are no privately owned Flankers, there are two privately owned Mig 29s though.

Probably because of the canards
BMS4.35 rules😉😜
